Three volunteer directors and four standing committees, working under bylaws adopted in 2020. What they've adopted, and every tax filing, is below for anyone to read.
The board
Directors serve without pay. Officers are elected by the board each year.
Committees
The work happens here. Each committee has a chair and reports to the board at every meeting.
Growbot & Tech
Runs the foundation's websites, member accounts and chat, and the drone spraying program. Builds the KNF library that checks this site against Master Cho's own words.
Research
Runs the member research program. Growers log their grows the same way, so results add up across farms and the right questions reach university researchers.
Membership & Certification
Looks after members and runs KNF certification: the Level 1 exam and the Level 2 review of solutions made by hand.
Micro-Documentary
Makes a documentary-style video series that walks through each core solution, from gathering ingredients to using it in the field.
How decisions get made
The short version of the bylaws. Each line links to the section it comes from.
- A majority of directors is a quorum. Robert's Rules of Order cover anything the bylaws don't.Bylaws §6.9, Art. IX
- Decisions by email only when every director agrees in writing. One "no" or one request to talk sends it to a meeting.Written consent policy
- A director with a conflict of interest doesn't vote on it and leaves the room while it's discussed.Bylaws §10.7
- Any check over $500 needs the Treasurer's signature and a second officer's. No officer signs their own reimbursement.Bylaws §10.3
- No money goes to a director, officer or member except fair pay for work actually done.Bylaws §8.2
- The Secretary keeps minutes of every meeting. Members may inspect the books and minutes on written request.Bylaws §7.7, §10.2
