Chicken Poop, knfMedicine Herbs, Banana Bunchy Top Drone Spray

Chicken poop should break down in three to seven days once IMO microbes get into it. If it lingers on the floor, spray on KNF protectors (lactic acid bacteria) to help digest it, and watch for smell — no stink means no worry, but bedding longer than three to six inches keeps chickens from turning it in.

For knfMedicine (OHN), one liter jars work fine for small batches. The standard recipe calls for 200 grams of dried herb per half-gallon jar. Drake buys cinnamon, licorice, and angelica root from Mountain Rose Herbs — a pound of cinnamon makes two batches, but angelica needs a full bag per batch.

On red cinder land, liquid IMO plus mowing and reseeding will slowly build grass, though cinder starts nearly sterile. For termites, boost plant health with IMO first; JADAM sulfur can knock them back if needed, then rebuild the microbial base. For leaf rust and anthracnose after a wet summer, KNF protectors made from milk lacto are the fix, dosed early and often.

Drake also shared an August drone overflight of his pasture restoration — dropping barrels of raw fish waste with IMO to rebuild overgrazed land — and a first test spraying his new DJI agricultural drone on banana bunchy top, using KNF protectors diluted 1:1000 and KNF food at 1:500, at 25 gallons per acre.

Questions answered

  • 10:38 Why does chicken poop stay on the coop floor instead of breaking down? — IMO microbes normally break down poop in 3-7 days; spray KNF protectors and make sure chickens stir bedding under six inches long.
  • 37:36 What gets rid of termites eating a cactus crop? — Boost plant health with IMO; if needed use JADAM sulfur to kill them, then reinoculate with good IMO to rebuild the ecosystem.
  • 39:36 Is it okay to make knfMedicine (OHN) in a 1 liter jar instead of a half gallon? — Yes, a liter jar works fine for a smaller batch, just don't go as small as a pint jar.
  • 40:10 Will liquid IMO and mowing weeds bring red cinder land back to life for grass? — Yes, liquid IMO breaks down the cinder over time and grass comes in if you keep mowing back taller weeds.
  • 43:12 Where can I get the right dried cinnamon, licorice, and angelica root for knfMedicine? — Drake orders all three from Mountain Rose Herbs, picking the cinnamon variety that cools the digestive system.
  • 47:22 How much dried herb is needed to make a batch of knfMedicine? — The book calls for 200 grams of dried herb per half-gallon jar, so a one-pound bag of cinnamon makes two batches.
  • 51:44 Where can I get a water-soluble phosphorus or nutrient content test done? — Contact a university extension office near you, like UH Mānoa, for soil and nutrient chemical testing.
  • 53:14 Is it okay to gather IMO from a coniferous forest instead of using leaf mold? — IMO is IMO wherever it's from, but broadleaf litter is a better source than pine needles.
  • 53:57 If JADAM sulfur is sprayed on cactus for human and livestock consumption, how long before it's safe to eat? — Don't use sulfur on crops meant for consumption — it gets taken up into the plant and stays there.
  • 54:25 My garden turned pathogenic with rust and anthracnose after a rainy summer and compacted soil — what can I do? — Spray KNF protectors, the lactic acid bacteria made from milk, early and often to fix compaction and disease.
  • 57:04 Can KNF fix banana bunchy top using the new agricultural drone? — Drake is running a first test spraying KNF protectors at 1:1000 and KNF food at 1:500, 25 gallons per acre, to see if it controls bunchy top symptoms.
