Chick Feed, Rock Dust Calcium, Brown Rice Vinegar Dilution
Drake opens with an I Ching reading on Biting Through, then a tribute to Master Cho and hellos to viewers from Belgium, Western Australia, and the Pacific Northwest. Winter is a hard time to teach KNF in person, but spring is the best season for the practice itself, since growth tips are vigorous for making plant juices and collecting IMO.
The Foundation got funded for another year, and Drake shows drone flight paths using RTK (real-time kinematics) that fly the same line every time. He plans to expand the drone program with the new funding.
Most of the episode plays a Master Cho poultry training video. It opens with Goksong County, Korea's mayor discussing the sister-city relationship with Hawaiʻi County, in place since 2013, which has included a poultry seminar exchange. The video then covers chick feeding: a brown rice pile renewed and offered freely for the first three days, a feed mix using gold-green rice instead of brown rice, and calcium sources when rock dust isn't available, including crushed granite, crushed coral, and glacial dust. Brown rice vinegar (Mineral A) gets diluted 200 to 1.
Drake closes with feeding mechanics: broilers get all they'll eat to fatten fast, layers get restricted rations, and protein goes up if layers aren't laying well or broilers aren't sizing up. Overfeed them one day and they eat less the next, so rations need to be dialed back. Wooden feeders need rebuilding roughly every two years because IMOs slowly eat away untreated wood.
Questions answered
- 10:40 What's the best time of year to do Korean natural farming? — Spring, because growth tips are vigorous, good for making plant juices and collecting IMO.
- 15:14 Did the Foundation get funded again? — Yes, funded for another year, with plans to expand the drone program.
- 16:45 What's the Hawaiʻi-Goksong sister city connection about? — Hawaiʻi County and Goksong County, Korea have had a sister-city relationship since 2013, including a poultry farming seminar exchange.
- 46:02 How much brown rice do you feed chicks in the first three days? — Put out a pile of brown rice, renew it, and let them eat as much as they want for the first three days.
- 55:48 What's the dilution rate for brown rice vinegar, Mineral A? — Brown rice vinegar mineral solution is diluted 200 to 1.
- 56:53 What can you use for rock dust if you don't have the usual source? — Crushed granite, crushed coral, or glacial rock dust all work as calcium substitutes.
- 58:35 What's different about chick feed mix number four? — It uses gold-green rice instead of brown rice, mixed with the same minerals.
- 59:22 Should broilers and layers be fed differently? — Broilers get as much food as they'll eat to fatten up fast, layers get restricted rations, and protein rises if layers aren't laying or broilers aren't sizing up.
- 1:00:48 What happens if you overfeed your chickens? — They eat less the next day, so you have to reduce their feed back down.
- 1:01:27 How often do wooden chicken feeders need rebuilding? — About every two years, because IMOs slowly eat away untreated wood feeders.

1:30 All the great stuff, all the beautiful things he's brought into our lives because, I don't know, I think he's one of the few people out there to synthesize all this stuff. There's a lot of reasons to do those things, right? But, like, Master Cho's touches, the things he brought, the reason I still, to this day, am pumped and, like, have him here is, like, this dude, man.
2:21 This dude, he was on to some things. Because, um, really, because I see all these different things where they're like, this and that. It's like, if you just knew Korean natural farming, like, so many people out there, like, doing, you know, like, riding mopeds. It's like, bro, just get a car. Or, like, you know, anyway. There's various reasons for it all, and all those things. So, um, but, uh, yeah. So, anyway, welcome. We got an hour. You can ask any questions on Korean natural farming. Uh, as a, as one of the main disciples, I think, the, the true, truest disciple, the Master Cho.
2:59 I don't know what you'd say. Um, I, I, I think I know a decent amount. And, um, I'm able to synthesize and share all those times I've spent with him. I think I've spent more hours and more time with him than any, anyone else at this point. Um, I don't know. Maybe the Taiwanese guys got more than me. Um, not that, you know. Anyway. Uh, anyway. So, um, before we get too far into it, we got some great people here. What's up? What's up? Um, but let's, um, let's jump into some higher wisdom. Jump into it. Right? Like, like people that say on YouTube, see you later.
3:38 It's like, yeah, you don't, I don't see you. I mean, I see your chats, but you see me. Let's get some higher wisdom. Uh, oh, yay. Good. Fighting through. Great one. There is an obstacle to the expression of truth. Draw into quietness and allow the sage to moderate. Unity has been broken by one who is not being true to proper principles. This may be another, an element in one's own personality, or both.
4:25 In any case, serious misfortune may result if the appropriate response is not made. Li Ching is very clear about our proper actions when confronted with an obstacle of this nature. Withdraw into contemplation and turning the matter over to the higher power for resolution. This is a time when aggressive action or intervention can only compound the misfortune. Use your strength to clearly separate yourself from the incorrectness.
5:10 And realign yourself with the sage. It is always our responsibility to acknowledge where something's gone wrong, but never our right to punish. The administration of justice is the sole province of the deity. The Li Ching teaches us to forgive, but not forget. This does not mean one who reveals himself as inferior today should be regarded as such tomorrow. It means we are wise to pay attention to the waxing and waning of the truth in oneself and others.
6:00 When truth predominates, we can progress. When it is eclipsed, we are obligated to withdraw and surrender the matter to the sage. The sage. Oh. Yeah. Well, welcome. Hey. Hey, here we go. Yeah, so. Unity's been broken. Oh my gosh, biting through. I like reading that because sometimes I come here in the morning and I'm like,
6:48 I'm going to talk about these things and then I'm like, not the I Ching knows best. You know, giving these things up to the sage. Not talking about certain things that are going on. Because there's all kinds of stuff going on out there, right? Keeping the focus. A lot of things biting through. So we got Kristoff in the house. What's up, brethren? Good to see you. Our Belgium friend. Oh, man. Yeah. I would. I was wanting to go travel and do stuff and be out and just kind of Korean natural farming freelance. Coming out to Belgium might be cool. It's winter in the northern hemisphere, though.
7:34 Like, here I'm in Hawaii and I think, oh, let's go travel. And it's like, it's winter. Teaching natural farming in the winter. Anywhere else is like really challenging. Right? Here, I think, like, I'm like, oh, go do this. You know, like, it's like, no, it's winter, bro. I forget that because I live here and it's like, it's raining. It's raining. It's definitely the wet season. So the dry season, wet season has definitely shifted. Now when I drive across the pasture, my tires, like, it's kicking up mud. Versus all summer. This was the driest year I've ever had in my entire life.
8:09 You know, my driest ever drought. Like, two or three droughts. I can't even remember. Like, gnarly droughts. Yeah. But I do live pretty primitive right now. Yeah. Living primitive. I live. I mean, I've pulled myself. My family's helped a lot. But pulled myself up by the bootstraps, man. You know. Didn't move into someone else's house. Built that thing from the ground up. Right? You know. Nothing like building your own house. Will you live in it? To understand primitiveness. Because, um, yeah. So, yeah. Yeah. That'd be cool. I don't know if the winter is the right time to do it, though.
8:55 To teach natural farming. We got Cecily in the house. Going down to Western Australia. That would be cool. It's, uh, it's summer there. Yay! Or spring, right? Spring? Summer? Is it? No, it's not winter yet. It's spring there. Yay! The rains are back, hopefully. Um, what's up, Rainbow Possum? Yep. Yep. Maybe, maybe do a West Coast tour. I don't know. I was trying to get brethren, brethren of mine to, to move in to, um, do, do the, take care of my cattle while I'm gone. And just, uh, too wishy-washy, man.
9:40 Like, saying one thing, saying another. Committing. Not just being steadfast. If you say something, just, just do it. Show up and do it. Don't, don't be like, uh, actually, I gotta do, it's like, no, just hell or high water, do it. Either do it or you die. Um, you know, die, die trying. I, I, I guess I'm too much of, like, I was trained early in my life by, uh, Marines. And they're like, you know, if you, you show up, you, you say you're going to do something and you're, you're not there. Marines are dead. It's just like, man, that hit me hard. You know, something I, I never forgot.
10:14 You know, I mean, I did forget the guy's name, but man, I did a lot of pushups. Um, never forget those lessons. B. Hendrix. Yeah. The Pacific Northwest. Both of you. Rainbow Possum Farm and B. Hendrix up. Uh, Aloha goes to the Pacific Northwest. Yep. Cloud of ancient knowledge was up at Africa. Um, my whistle is on my back. You ever seen this whistle before? Anyone? Sheep whistle? Pretty cool thing. My dog's now all like, where the hell is that? She, she, train her. Um. Yeah. Yeah, maybe when the garden's at the peak. I don't know. Maybe springtime.
11:00 Springtime's a good time. Get, uh. That's the best time to do Korean natural farming. Spring. Because all the plants, all the growth tips coming back vigorously make plant juices. Bring those into vinegars. Collect your IMOs. Springtime is the best time to do Korean natural farming. So Cecil, you're in, you're in luck there. But, uh, yeah. Anyway. Uh, other, they, other, other small news. Um. My dad, my dad's been pumped, man. He's getting into doing some research. And we've been flying the drone. So, got the drone back up in the air. It, it, it's been a bit. Been a bit.
11:45 I, uh. It, it, it, uh. It fell from the sky. And cost a lot to get it back going. But it's flying again. And it's doing good. And, um. Korean natural farming is falling from the sky. The mana from heaven. What's up, Claudia? How's it? Right, uh. Yay. Happy to host a. What? Wow. Travel fund. Hey. There we go. There we go. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. That's great. Oh. Well, it is killer. Yeah. Summer hurts.
12:32 Hmm. Interesting. Interesting. Uh. Wow. Yeah. Cool. Hey, thanks. I'm just kind of in shock right now. It's good. I could go travel. A few things. Um. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Happy to host a class at your farm if you're coming through. Have some basic camping amenities. Yeah. Hey. Maybe. Maybe. Let's figure this out. And build an itinerary. Because. If I can get somebody to keep my cows alive. And my dogs alive. And my chickens alive. And my pig alive. Then. I think the rest of the plantings we'll just handle. And. Go.
13:18 Travel. And do stuff. And if I got enough people to host in the right places. I'd come through. Help out. Host up. Get all the people in your region stoked. Hopefully leave with a group of folks that are going to continue to do. What we talk about. And practice together. And get. Start little groups around. Get people stoked. So that it's. You know. Working together. And build those things up. That's what I would like to do. What else am I going to do with my life. You know. I said that. And I said it about the IMO bath. I made an IMO bath. Right. What am I doing with my life.
14:01 Trying to live by my word. Do the right things. Do the right stuff. For. For. For the world. For all of us. Let's see. Yeah. So this is what I was going to show you here. Let's see. Zoom in a little bit. Yeah. So. We've been. Is it going to show up? Yeah. You see that? See how nicely. I don't know if it'll focus on it. But you see that path. All the green lines. I think. Are they yellow? I'm not sure. I can't see. Yeah. Um. Oh. And the phone went. But those are the. You know. The drone path. And with the RTK.
14:46 Real time kinematics. It's like. Directly on the same path. Every time. Every time. Yeah. Hey Cheryl. Hey Cheryl. Hey. Yeah. Teaching KNF in the winter is limited for sure. Yeah. Yeah. I mean. There's things to do. There's always. You know. You know. Maybe. Fermenting herbs. And making medicine. And having the things tincture. It's a nice winter activity. Right? Stirring. Stirring the medicine. Nice winter activity. You can always take a little sip. And warm yourself up. On the inside. As well as the outside. Thanks for trees. They're real survivors. Yeah. Trees are the answer.
15:32 The answer to what? Wood. Same line. Every time. Yeah. Every time. Yep. Flies the same place. And getting motivated on the drone. Um. Good news. Foundation. Foundation got funded again for another year. So. You know. We got funded again for another year. Yay. Yay. This year. I think we're going to try and get more funding to expand the drone program. In addition to other things. We're going to do all kinds of things. And. If you're not a member of Pure KNFB1. Jump in there. It's good. We. Uh. Doing it again. Your contributions help as well. To keep it all going.
16:17 But. Um. If there's no other questions. You know. What would nourish my soul. Is getting into. The last of the poultry training. Oh. I see. Oh. We're on the last episode. Um. But. Oh no. Wrong button. This button. There we go. This one here. This. Spending time with Master Cho. What are we doing? We're talking to the mayor. There's Master Cho. Let me turn on the mouse. Clicker. Master Cho sitting there. On the right side of the mayor. The spot of honor. Dr. Park translating a note that we had from Harry Kim.
17:03 Let's see what they got to say. Mr. Yu-Hun Kim. He's the mayor of the Goxin County. Governor of the Goxin County. Here is Mr. Yu. I'm the newly elected mayor of the county of Hawaii. I learned that county of Hawaii and the Goxin County. Developed assisted city relationships in 2013. Dr. Hoon Park, a friend of mine, informed me that seven Hawaii farmers have been invited to go to Korea. For a special poultry farm and skill seminar. Thank you for your kindly invitation to our farmers. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
17:52 And stop. Harry Kim at onecounty.com. Sincerely, Harry Kim Mayor. Yay. Yay. So the sister city relationship is still ongoing, happening, and going. I don't know where it is. The people of Hawaii had something where the Koreans eat dogs. And they do. Right? I mean, it's a freaking tender, nice meat. The Filipinos eat dogs. I haven't seen them throw the Filipinos under the bus. But they were, like, trying to break the sister city relationship because they ate dogs. And I was like, hmm, interesting. Like, it's the one thing that's, like, you know. It's just, like, natural farming.
18:37 You know, I'm glad you're out there doing what you're doing. But, like, one drama, trauma thing after the next. Like, if you do, like, you do the God's work. Like, it's like, it's like, oh, man. In the devil's world, it's like, oh, man. Like, the story of Job, man. It'll come and get you. And even if you're trying to break this sister city relationship. Like, bro, this is the best thing we had going. Most other things are fluff. This one actually was, like, knowledge exchange where we went there three times in 2017 to Goksong.
19:13 And then we brought a bunch of their children here to, like, learn English and hang out with Uncle David Fortes. You know, and get Paniolo life. It's so wild that they exchanged that, but whatever. Yeah, so. Wild. Anyway. Anyway. I love it. They give you small energy drinks. These are, like, those Bacchus energy drinks. The county is just, like, here. Get powered up so you don't fall asleep while people are talking to you. Oh, gosh. You think Joe's doing Instagram?
20:17 He's just flicking the phone there. Instagram, you think? What do you think? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

55:32 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Dr. Park's such a hero. Such a hero. He has no idea what he's done. He's changed the entire world. One man. Yeah. Yeah. I know. He also. He was just trying to glorify God like that. He's missing. He did it, I guess. Yeah. Right on Dr. Park. He's got saving nitrile from the game that would have been nice. He's changed the whole thing. He's changed the whole thing. He's changed the whole thing. Oh, 10. And PJ. Brown ice vinegar. Mineral A. Yeah. And these are the dilutions. 200 to 1. I can't imagine.
56:17 I can't imagine. I can't imagine. I can't imagine. I can't imagine. So this is literally a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of
56:23 a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit
56:53 sand, granite, granite rock. You could use crushed coral maybe? So crushed rock. We had degraded rock. It was from sand. You could use mineral, like glacial dust. Crushed rock. Rock dust.
57:50 So junk rice, crushed, crushed rice powder. Interesting. If you watched the video prior, you'd see it. What we're doing. Calcium. Some kind of rice. Some degraded rice. Like, all very brights. So animal number four.
58:35 Three cups. And then it's last one. Inside it has got gold green rice. Gold green rice. So no brown rice. But no brown rice. It's a brown rice. Right. And so in the video, I'm almost saying, I'm trying to go through the video to transcribe this, but there is an English translation in the video. So these are the chickpeats. That's what they're feeding them. And it doesn't matter if they're eating the broiler. The difference between layer and broiler. Layers, you just feed them a little less. Broilers, you give them more food. Because you want them to get fat first.
59:19 It's the amount you're going to feed them. So, yeah. Yeah. You're going to feed the broiler more. And also the broiler, you may want to increase the protein a little bit. The protein you always play with, it's based on, like, layers. You want to, if they're not laying a lot, you increase the protein. And broilers, if they're not sizing the right amount, you increase the protein. So the protein kind of fluctuates based on them. Yeah. So there's so much more to the subtleties of adjusting the chick's food, as you know, to go through.
59:57 Here I'm trying to take everything I learned in 10 days and put it into 48 minutes for folks. And, you know, it's like, you can just watch. We just watched the whole chicken series. So if you didn't watch it, you know, it's there. You know, here's the playlist right here. The basic poultry training. You know, but you'd have to watch it again. So, but you'll learn a lot. You'll be a good chicken farmer. At least, I don't know if you'll be a good chicken farmer. You'll at least be an informed chicken farmer.
1:00:30 So, again, just to reiterate, the layers for your dog daddy are going to restrict their diet. The broilers for fast food. So as much as they can eat, you want an available product. But you do want to be careful in terms of increasing their food or decreasing their food. If you overfeed them, then the next day they actually won't feed as much. And you'll run into problems. So there's a way in there. Which I am dealing with my chickens right now. Where I actually need to reduce their feed down to get them to eat it all. Because they're leaving some around. I've been feeding them too much.
1:01:05 It's like, oh man. You've got to actually rebuild their feeders too. It's about an every two-year project to rebuild their feeders. And just because the IMOs start to eat away the feeder. It's just made out of wood. You know, I have untreated wood that they're eating out of. So I've got to go rebuild their feeders and all that. There's a lot of maintenance stuff I'm just going to do that I've been putting off. Wild. But anyway, we are here on the feed. Let's finish this out just a little bit. Stepping on their food and bringing down their food. Just take note of that. So we'll resume here.
1:01:47 Where are we on? We're on 12 of 12 of this playlist. Let me note that down. And we're at 1833. Alright. So we'll jump back into this on that. Coming back around. Coming back around again. The people of the sun. Granite Dusher. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's great, Cecily. That is amazing. Crushing that granite. I used to just crush granite with my bare hands. I didn't. But anyway, cool.
1:02:32 Thanks for joining in. Office Hours. Thank you, Super Chats. I'm just... Wow. Wow. Wow. Travel fund. Looking forward to... I don't know. I gotta get out there. Get out and do things. 1:03:25 Don't spread the word. Do the right thing. So again, if you are still here, you know, you can click off if you want, but I think it makes sense to say a little prayer together. So I want to ask God to be present here with us at this moment and to bless all these people who have tuned in that are doing the good work, that are bringing life to their soil, to their communities, to their selves, and bless them that they may work with your guidance, your power, your love. Spread that, emanate, make them such champions of you and the glorification of God that everyone looks at them and is like,
1:04:10 what are they doing and joins and finds you, finds themselves, makes the life better and brings this aloha, this spirit of just love and abundance and beauty. And may they just be fulfilled in every way and find the solace in all this wildness that the earth is giving us right at this present moment in society and everything and transform it in a way that helps people find their selves and their selves and you and all. So thank you. Thanks for tuning in. In Jesus' name, amen. Thanks. See you next week.
1:05:09 Bye. Bye. Bye.
1:06:09 Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
