Recipe Differences
Top answer
From the KNF library
Corrected October 2026: some figures in this answer are not Master Cho’s teaching (for example spraying 25 gallons per acre, Microbes at 1,200 pounds per acre, or Fuel at 1:3000). See Corrections for what he taught.
The library does not compare Chris Trump's recipes with the ones on the site or the calculator. It does show how Drake thinks about recipe differences.
Drake says you can depart from Master Cho's exact recipe. Use the waste product that is local, to cut cost. (Office Hours Jun 2025, 29:39) For herbs, find the same or a similar plant growing in your area and use it in the same recipe. (Office Hours Ep. 22, 44:06)
Strengths also move with the growth stage:
- For vegetative growth, fuel goes at 1:1000 and structure and reproduction at 1:2000. (Pure KNF Manual, p. 47)
- To assist stretching and moving nutrients to roots and fruit, fuel drops to 1:3000 and the others rise to 1:1000. (Pure KNF Manual, p. 47)
Same ingredients, different strengths, different stages. (Pure KNF Manual, p. 47)
Drake also says different people teach KNF differently. (Office Hours Ep. 82, 48:03) When they do, he goes back to the original source and his source documents. (Office Hours Ep. 82, 48:03) Chris Trump and Drake both appear in the Natural Farming Lineage in the student manual. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 7)
Bring both recipes to a show. Drake can compare them line by line.
