IMO collection during drought.
What tricks are there to successfully collect IMO in dry climates or during drought?
Top answer
KNF Microbes can be collected in drought and in desert like conditions with ease, and it makes sense to do so, because you will be collecting drought tolerant microbes that will have added benefit to your region and changing climate conditions.
The key to this is to spray the area you would like to collect from with a formula containing
- KNF Medicine 1:1000
- KNF Food 1:500
- KNF Cleanser 1:500
- KNF Fuel 1:1000

Drake's spray answer is above. The library adds these points on moisture and on desert collecting.
- Drake says a student collected beautiful IMO in his dry Phoenix backyard with a round basket trap. (Office Hours Ep. 64, 9:21)
- Insulate the box better and cook the rice with a bit more water so it holds moisture. (Office Hours Ep. 123, 54:40) One manual instead calls for steamed white rice on the dry side, so the two sources differ. (Unravelling the Mysteries of KNF, p. 56)
- Mix moist leaf mold with dry fallen leaves to cover the box. (Cho, Theory, p. 51) Too little moisture and IMO will be hardly collected. (Cho, Recipe, p. 11)
- Water the leaf moulds around the box. (Cho, Theory, p. 51) Cho sprays a nutrient mix, with brown rice vinegar and mineral A, instead of plain water. (Cho, Recipe, p. 11)
One office hours answer says to skip collecting in extreme rain or extreme dryness. (Office Hours Ep. 55, 49:25) That differs from the drought spray method above. The library gives no drought-specific watering schedule.
