IMO Bath, OHN Tincture, Fermented Cannabis Plant Juice
Guests David and Darla, KNF farmers from Temecula, join Drake to talk about using natural farming for Darla's five-year fight with HER2-positive breast cancer. They watch an IMO soil bath video: getting buried up to the chest in a hot microbial pile raises body temperature above the range certain cancer cells can tolerate, similar to an artificial fever, but the heat comes from microorganisms rather than electricity or fire.
Darla describes her diet and treatment stack: no sugar, gluten, or processed food, heavy green juicing, a stretch as a vegetarian before adding back eggs and salmon for iron, plus sauna, an ozone machine, a Rife machine, colloidal silver, and Rick Simpson oil and indica oil capsules. Drake explains fermented plant juice (FPJ): sugar draws the nutrient-dense juice out of fresh plants through osmosis, leaving toxins behind, and the juice is diluted roughly 1:300 to 1:2000 before drinking, with fresh FPJ better for vitality and aged FPJ better once plants reach reproductive stage.
They cover other KNF solutions for human health: lactic acid bacteria whey for skin and hair, which must be rubbed in rather than just soaked, and OHN, a tincture of garlic, ginger, licorice, cinnamon, and angelica each diluted about 1:1000, with advice to substitute local herbs like wild angelica where the traditional ones don't grow. David and Darla describe fermenting whole cannabis plants, including the roots, into FPJ and then into alcohol tinctures.
Drake shares a story of someone whose leg eczema shrank by half after one IMO bath and cleared after three days of treatment, and explains pile management: keep the pile around 110-115°F, since anything over 130°F favors different microbes, and hydrate heavily with coconut water and minerals during treatment. He also shows a Bionutrient Food Association meter that scored store produce at 75 versus 93 for nutrient-dense, farm-grown produce.
Questions answered
- 2:22 What made you interested in an IMO soil bath for healing cancer? — David said seeing photos of people healing with soil baths made him want to try one with Darla, who has fought HER2-positive breast cancer for five years.
- 4:32 How does an IMO soil bath work to help the body? — Being buried in a hot IMO pile creates an artificial fever that raises body temperature above where certain cancer cells survive, while your own cells stay fine.
- 9:11 How often should you do IMO bath treatments? — Once a pile heats up it stays usable for five to seven days and can be used up to three times a day, then you rest a week before starting a new pile.
- 13:55 What diet changes help alongside KNF for cancer? — Darla cut sugar, gluten, and processed food, drank green juice, tried vegetarian eating, and added back a little fish and eggs when her iron dropped too low.
- 20:55 What is fermented plant juice (FPJ) and how does it work? — Sugar mixed with fresh plant material pulls the nutrient-dense juice out through osmosis while leaving toxins behind, and fermentation pre-digests it.
- 26:36 Is older or fresher FPJ better for human health? — Fresh FPJ is better for vitality and growth, while aged FPJ mellows like wine and works better once plants reach their reproductive stage.
- 29:30 Can you add FPJ or other KNF inputs to a bath for skin care? — Drake recommended adding FPJ to a warm bath along with skin-healing plants like aloe vera and roses.
- 32:51 What is lactic acid bacteria good for on skin and hair? — Whey from cultured lactic acid bacteria strengthens hair and clears pathogens, but you have to rub it into skin, not just soak, for it to absorb.
- 35:29 What is OHN and what's in it? — OHN is Drake's KNF medicine, a tincture of five herbs — garlic, ginger, licorice, cinnamon, and angelica — diluted about one to a thousand each.
- 38:45 What's the most important mineral for healing, and where do you get it? — Drake pointed to iron, found in beets, spinach, and New Zealand spinach, which Darla juices and eats as salad.
- 44:06 Can you substitute local herbs when you don't have the traditional OHN herbs? — Find the same or a similar herb growing wild in your area, like wild angelica in Northern California, and use it in the same recipe.
- 46:39 Can you ferment cannabis, including the roots, into a plant juice? — Yes, people ferment the whole plant including the root after harvest, then add alcohol to pull out different medicinal compounds as a tincture.
- 50:00 How do you measure nutrient density in homegrown food? — Drake uses a Bionutrient Food Association scanner that tested store-bought produce at about 75 versus 93 for union-farmer-grown produce.
- 58:29 Has an IMO bath ever helped clear up a skin condition like eczema? — Drake described someone whose leg eczema shrank by half after one IMO bath and was gone after three days of repeat treatments.
- 1:00:00 What temperature should an IMO pile stay at, and how do you avoid overheating? — Keep the pile around 110-115°F; above 130°F different, unwanted microbes take over, so hydrate well with coconut water and minerals during treatment.

9:00 Let me fix that. Thank you, guys. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I need to read the chat instead of my phone. Oh, well, welcome, welcome. Hey, guys. Sorry about that. I am now using a different platform this time. and uh yeah appreciate everyone tuning in and i'll just summarize this here which says this is biting through uh and today's hexagram is there's a obstacle to the expression of truth
9:45 withdraw into quietness and allow the sage to moderate so what what better advice than being muted on the internet in 2022 starting these things so yeah welcome you guys so today we got two special guests with us here to talk about human health David and Darla and they reached out to me just seeing what you know they've been into natural farming, attended Master Cho's course when he was in Riverside, and have been jumping into this in their farm, but also looking to improve overall health. So without further ado, let me bring
10:33 these guys in here and get them up here on the screen and unmute them. oh well you guys muted yourselves i guess so we were trying to figure out why we couldn't hear you oh that's great that's great thank you for having us this is awesome oh man what a what a day new technology new platforms but yeah welcome welcome across the world through the virtual mycelia and you guys are in uh southern california Yes. Yeah. We're in Temecula, which is an hour north of San Diego.
11:23 Okay. So can you kind of explain your interest in natural farming and how that fits into your story? Well, when I was in Master Cho's class, we saw some photos and I've seen some photos of people with ailments taking a soil bath. And at this stage, we'd like to approach that and see if we can give Darla a soil bath with all of the right components and help her heal with cancer. This is our fifth year of dealing with HER2 positive and breast cancer. And we're fighting
12:17 it naturally, mostly, and we'd like to take the next step. So, and that's where we're at with that. So, that's awesome. So, I think what you're referring to is this IMO bath here. Is this on my screen you can see that so i'm gonna play this video can you hear that
13:02 no no so you can't hear anything that's playing from the the that video at all no and now it's buffering but okay so what what uh but but you can see the visual right i mean now not not now that's buffering but yeah i just want to make sure this is like working the technology is going back and forth so so that what what that is is that's uh called an imo bath And did you see how those people were being buried into that pile? Yes. Yeah, definitely.
13:55 So the whole key to this system is, I was talking with David about this earlier, And I just want to explain a little bit kind of about how this IMO bath can affect for human health. And the way it works is creating kind of an artificial fever in yourself. So that when you're like, just like when you get a fever, it's actually kind of burning out these pathogens that may accumulate in you. and and what you're doing um like a fever is a natural response to the body and body cells can live up to about a hundred you know 107 degrees you start having like brain problems but but
14:46 getting a fever of about 104 is not necessarily a huge problem as long as you're able to cool back down quick you know quick enough and you don't want to stay there for a prolonged amount of time but if you have cells in your body say for instance you had cancer cells that can only live at a very specific temperature profile when you get in this this IMO bath it raises your body above where those cancer cells can live in the temperature profile and when that happens your human cells are okay and you have a fever but it's only artificial because you're causing it by being
15:28 buried in the pile but as as you um as you are in that for for several times you're able to raise the your body temperature above where those other cells are able to proliferate and be happy and then your cells have a chance to then eat those, you know, like metabolize it back. So it's creating like an artificial fever. Is that making sense? Mm-hmm. Almost like if you sat in a sauna, but with this it'll be the soil.
16:14 yeah and so the difference i'm just going to leave this video and it'll kind of buffer buffer as it goes but the difference is there there's two there's kind of two ways people do this like saunaing and then also like infrared light which is very very similar to like like a heat sauna and these two types of things but this is a third way to do it is using the heat of the microorganisms, which are putting out a very specific light frequency, or which like is infrared heat, but it's coming from them actually making love with each other. So if you're into
16:58 like, I don't know, good vibrations, kind of like that kind of thing, the heat you're receiving from this is not like electricity generated, or, you know, like fire and steam, it's actually coming from like organisms making love. What is she wearing in there? Do you wear like a special cloth on you before you go into the dirt? So you can see in this video, she's wearing kind of like gym shorts. And what he's going to do is he's going to bury her into this um pile here which this is like he's making this much for his um you know he has a
17:48 huge quail farm that they use to to mix the feed with so he makes huge batches that's his rototiller in the back and now he's gonna bury her under and into these these microbes hmm and how often do they recommend you do this IMO bow well so there's another video I have here let me let me pause this or uh let me let me play it a little bit more so so so yeah he's well he's
18:35 gonna bury her and put it all over her feet and basically um you know kind of um cover her um and if you have in your making the imos like um so i want to i want to show you this guy here and in this video which all these videos are linked in the description of this um talk already or of this conversation already. Um, this is the, um, my, my friend David Wong talking about it and this guy, which you can't really see him here cause he's given this presentation, but he, um, he did this treatment, um, like, uh, he do about a fifth, 15 minutes to a half hour in, in the
19:18 buried in the pile itself because, because it's, it's hot. And he did it nightly for, for like a couple of weeks. I, I, I, um, I don't know his exact treatment on that. Um, how, how frequently he did it. I think he did it for like a month, um, or something, something like that. I should actually listen to the video and see if he says.
20:25 I'm sorry.
21:55 I don't know what happened to him. That's all right. He's just pulling up. That's great. I think I got to kick that out of my own stream. Hopefully, it's actually quicker now and everything's going better.
22:42 I think there's a little less land. That's all good. Yeah, I was kind of laggy before. Okay, so anyway. Okay. Hey. Uncle David Wong, this guy here, and his treatment for doing all this, he also switched his diet, which when I was talking with David, I heard you guys also have considerations with diet. So what are you guys doing for that? so i've done um i i don't do sugar i don't do gluten i don't do any processed foods i do a lot of green juicing um i've been doing this a long time in the beginning i was drinking um 64 ounces
23:29 of green juice a day or more and um over the last year i are two two and a half probably close to three years I was total vegetarian. Each cancer is different. When you have a hormone driven cancer, you don't eat meat products or animal products just because animals carry natural hormones in them. And if you don't want to be adding more hormones to your body. So, but then it wasn't working for me because I could not get my iron levels up high enough. And so I was so depleted that my oxygen levels depleted. So now I had to add back in a little bit of meat. Not a lot. I'll
24:14 do eggs or salmon, but it's all, you know, grass-fed and organic and everything like that. And all the food that I eat is organic. It's difficult to eat out because you don't know what they're adding to it. Especially a lot of times, even if you go, say you have a salmon at restaurant and a lot of times they're going to add sugar or brown sugar so i eat very clean um you know lots of fruit and vegetables um i have done a lot of i did go through chemo in the beginning and the cancer came back when i was still on one of the immunotherapy drugs called
24:54 herceptin and they they said oh you're an anomaly because that's not supposed to happen because it It was supposed to be the magic drug for HER2 at the time, which was almost four years now since I completed chemo. In June, it'll be four years. So they've come out with more HER2 drugs since then, and they want me to do radiation. But I just keep trying to do it naturally. And naturally, I do a lot of different things. I do have a sauna. I do have an ozone machine. I do have a Rife machine. I do use a vibration board. I do prayer and meditation. I have a Reiki healer. I've done
25:36 massage. So, I mean, I just keep trying and trying a lot of different things. I use a lot of you know, supplements, but also like colloidal silver, which is a natural antibiotic. and um but my tumor even though i look healthy and a lot of days i do feel healthy and there's a lot of days that are down especially the last year when the iron just depleted to no end um but the last three months since i reintroduced meat my iron levels have gone back up so that's then creates more energy but then if i have do too much like last week and we decided oh
26:16 I'm feeling good. Let's make a trip to Arizona and see our daughter we haven't seen in six months. But then I had to stay in bed for three days when we got home because the energy just pulled right out from underneath me. The only problem is the tumor I have, it still keeps growing. So when I found it, initially it was the size of like a pea and it's externally. it grows on the outside so I can see it, which is very rare. Most people, they can't visually see their tumors. I don't know if it's, you know, more harmful or not, but it's just rare to have it. So
26:58 when I found it again, after a year later, after the chemo and after I'd had everything cut out, it was the size of a pea. But now here we are almost four years later and it's quite large. It's like a softball and it grows externally. So it's quite painful to the touch and it's an open wound. And so it oozes and bleeds. So it's really annoying at this point. And you just keep, you know, it's hard to not get discouraged because I keep trying, trying, trying. Yeah, we do have cannabis. We've done that too. We have CBD and THC.
27:42 so we do both of those but um it's a stubborn her too is a very aggressive form of cancer it's very stubborn and um there are several types of breast cancer which i had no idea about until i started this journey and so um and david got into this korean natural farming about three or four after We were like already in the midst of this journey like three years ago. And so then he came across this, IMO bass. And so that's, and then he contacted you. He asked me, would I be willing? He asked me actually probably a while ago. And I'm like, Oh, I don't know if I can do that.
28:25 But you kind of get to a point where you've tried and you tried and you tried, you tried everything. And I still believe in natural healing. so you just keep going to the next things because there's probably a thousand things that we could try out there that are natural it's just finding that one that fits your body but the other thing is too you have to be diligent so if you're going to start a protocol you want to follow through and give it at least six months because you can't start it in a month later go oh i don't feel good
28:57 when you already didn't feel good. So you have to see. But on the CBD, we make the Rick Simmons oil with our CBD and we also make our own indica. We control the grow ourselves. So it's very healthy plants. And Darla does about a gram of oil on the CBD and about a little less than a quarter gram of indica oil and we put it in a little vegetable capsule and she she takes those as part of the program to help fight the free radicals in the cells that are damaging and that's every day so we we do that every day sometimes more than a gram of oil completely in a day so
29:47 So it's a big part of the regimen. So I want to, you know, when you were talking about the methods you're using, I think, you know, like all those seem great. I wanted to bring in like maybe two natural farming solutions just like out of that. In addition to that IMO bath, the lactic acid bacteria, like the protectors, and also what I call KNF food, but is made by fermenting plants and like a fermented plant juice type of thing extraction.
30:26 So the fermented plant juice, you know, when you're trying to juice and trying to get the essence of the plant out, like even when you're talking about this RSO, you know, it's like using an extractive method to get the medicinal parts of the plant out. And so what the can of food does is it does something similar where it's just getting the really goods out. And what you do is you take, you know, like say, for instance, I was going to I grew some amazing, you know, just I'm just going to choose lettuce. And I grew this amazing lettuce in my garden. But this could be anything.
31:10 And I take that and I mix it up with sugar, which I know I know you said you're trying to avoid sugar. So this may be kind of contraindicative here. And maybe it's possible to do it with salt instead of sugar or something. But the recipe here is to take the sugar with the plant material and to mix it together. And what happens is the sugar pulls the good juice that's inside of there, the nutrient-dense part of the plant, the stuff you really want to be eating. It pulls that out. it leaves other things in the cells, which may be plant toxins and other types of things that
31:51 aren't that same solubility. But if you ate the plant, you'd consume those. So this sugar pulls the most essential juice across the cell wall into this juice. And then that is broken down through fermentation, where the microbes that were on that leaf of lettuce are designed to eat lettuce so they break this lettuce essential juice down and that's equivalent of like you you you don't have to do digestion now as soon as this juice enters your body it's already been pre-digested so the most essential juice came out it's pre-digested through a few days of
32:29 fermentation then you strain off that juice and in in your case just store that in the refrigerator But now if you take that lettuce juice and you dilute it into your into water or into a smoothie or into any of your other juices, maybe even supplement juices. And it's it's a dilution of about one to three hundred, one to seven hundred, one to a thousand, depending on how much, you know, and by that time, there's there's only a tiny bit of sugar in there, you know, comparatively once, you know, and for you, maybe.
33:06 dilute it, you know, one to a thousand, one to two thousand, just a little bit. And then you're able to get that essential juice that came out that was broken down into liquid form. And now you're able to consume it. And what you're able to do is the way I primarily understand health is they used to say an apple a day would keep the doctor away, but now you have to eat 20 apples to get what was in one right and so i can't eat i physically can't eat enough nutrients in my body to get myself to be like ah so what i have to so another advocate like advocation for
33:49 this recipe is what i'm doing is i'm taking 20 lettuces and i'm extracting out the best bits of those 20 lettuces i'm leaving the rest behind and then when i dilute that into my water now I didn't just eat one lettuce that I you know felt fit me up from a salad I've now eaten 20 lettuces compressed here and so I'm able to like by by getting the essential juice out I'm able to eat 20 apples by just eating you know a one apple like a drop of this stuff it's like it's like concentrated food in a sense where it didn't have to go through heat or pressure or other denaturing
34:30 type of processes. It was a natural sugar osmotic release of good stuff, and then a natural fermentation from those microbes that were on that specific plant. And so that way, I'm able to get condensed food. But then I can also go and say, okay, I happen to know plants that are really high in iron like i'm trying to increase my iron levels well um i have a plant called um japanese dryland watercress that's really high in iron and i can go and i can clip the tips of it in the morning and make this juice from it and now that that i'm eating you know 20 um
35:17 watercress is full of iron in just a few drops into my drink every day. So is that kind of making sense in a certain sense? Yeah, definitely. We have fermented plant juice that we use on the property made from our own vegetables and also fruits. So some of them, we have them by the gallons that we use. And some of them are probably two years old where we haven't used all of it yet. Does age make a difference on that?
36:03 Should it be fresh? Like if we harvested and made it today, start using it tomorrow? Or can what has been made start using that as well? does it lose its nutrient value the fpj yeah so so that that's that's a good question you know that the if if you're wanting like the vitality bit of it i would say um you know the fresher the better um okay because yeah and if but but for for spraying on your plants actually um the older it gets the more it's used during like reproductive period so it's just it's more like a fine wine
36:47 like adults enjoy wine a lot more than than babies kind of thing um well i don't know maybe i don't know what happens actually if you get babies wine but maybe they'll love it but um but um yeah so so as it ages and it gets more like a like a wine um it's it's better um later on um but but for the vitality for that growth for that regenerative fresh fresh is better and using fresh plant tips we can do that we can do that immediately so that that's awesome and and and since you guys are farming if as you as you're eating these things and then you're
37:29 and then you spray them back on your plants you're actually able to grow more nutrient dense plants because you're giving those nutrients to the plants exactly what they need. Then you're harvesting those, making the solutions, and now you're like getting a cycle going of increasing your nutrient density with your plants are going to be the most medicinal to make these from. So, I mean, it's an odd question. We spray it on our plants. Can we spray it? I mean, would this help to spray Darla Dowd? give her a nice spray let it you know just soak it every day what would go wrong
38:11 why not well well yeah well exactly yeah yeah i mean i you know sometimes i'm out spraying and i spray it on myself like yeah okay it's like pretty good oh this is good you know yeah well I would definitely recommend adding these to a bath. Like jump in like a warm tub where you're going to sit there and just like, you know, it's like drip some of those in. Like look for plants that are known for repairing skincare, you know, like aloe vera. What other plants are out there that are like good for skin? I mean, those.
38:58 Roses. Roses. There's a, yeah. I can't think of it off the top of my head. Got me off guard. But I bet you there's a whole bunch, right? Yes. Yes. Just from our herb gardens, we could put in an amazing amount of, you know, just nutrient and get that whole biology. What about fish amino acid? We have some that's... That's actually what I've been really thinking about lately. I just, the other day, let me see here.
39:44 I was reading about the fish aminos and let me, I read the health benefits the other week, but let me just find this for a second. So tell me about your FAA. How's it going? The fish amino acid, we made it over a couple of years ago. And we made well over two gallons of, and the fish, everything's still in the bucket. And I'll tell you what, you put this on a little sauce and eat it. It's delicious. I mean, you know, you can make a little, you know, some scrambled eggs and just dribble it over the top. It's amazing.
40:30 So we have that. We have a variety of the – we've made a couple attempts at the – working on the IMO. we're in process right now to get that started and then to IMO2, IMO3, IMO3 to get this soil prepared. So we're gearing in that direction. But mostly what we've done is the lactobacillus, our fermented plant juices, fish amino acid that we use on all of our spraying, all of our feeding cycles. And we've made a couple of other things that, you know, but what we're lacking is
41:18 getting that IMO 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 going so that we could prepare this and get ready. so i i haven't done much else um but the the incredible part of using just what we've made it it it has changed the whole scope of uh what we do because the foods are so much better and the soil it's just incredible so yeah great great well the other um The other solution I wanted to talk about for like skin care kind of things is definitely lactic acid bacteria.
42:04 Have you done that? So lactic acid bacteria is really linked to mammalian health. You can culture it just with rice wash water, but then it's usually purified through a stage of going into milk. And then from that, you pour off the whey from the bottom. The curds will rise to the top, and you're interested in this whey liquid. Okay. We've done the first part, but we haven't done the second part.
42:50 So, okay, I'm on the page with you. Okay, yeah, so that for skin care, I know for hair care and stuff, it really helps to make your hair stronger, and it helps to, you know, clean up any other type of pathogen that could be there. it's really like uh um in terms of yeah that's like it's it's i call it the protectors because they're really so like they just go into a situation and make it um you know if if you're reading the the comments here people are talking about you know um adding adding this to their
43:35 guts you know they're talking about the ohn um all all these different um things that you know making um almost like making like what you would um put out to the plants like make a make a tub and like sit in this and just let it let these nutrients soak into your into your skin and um what one thing i learned from master cho is if you want to absorb something through the skin like if you rub it and then you put nutrients there like sugar it actually you can actually kind of absorb it through your skin directly directly into you but you but you have to rub
44:10 yourself. Otherwise, if you just soak and you don't rub, it doesn't necessarily go in. I get it. Yeah, that's a good idea. A sugar scrub or a coffee scrub that women do. Yeah. No, no. That's a good idea. It's a great idea. What is OHN? What does that stand for again? So what I call it is KNF medicine. And it's so much easier to understand as medicine. It's basically five herbal tinctures garlic ginger licorice cinnamon and angelica and those those five herbs are really known in chinese um herbalism to be exceptionally beneficial
44:58 so we're we're going to do that my daughter and i are going to get the supplies to do that I think I shared that with you. And we're brushing up on getting that set up like as quick as possible. Because that is one of the components in the IMOs making the soil. Yeah. And I would say, you know, if you don't have it, don't let that stop you from doing the IMOs and all that. But but really, it's it's function is that the whole the whole thing is to bring balance in and just what what these herbs do is they're they're diluted very, very, like usually one to a thousand.
45:49 And there's six of them in there. So it's it's even less than that. One to six thousand each one is diluted. But what they do is they're kind of biostimulants, just like when you add, you know, garlic to a meal, it gives more flavor and has more kick. That's what gets these microbes in the soil, in healing to just kind of an immune system that'll kick. so so someone in the chat here mike spangler was saying um lactobacillus and unrefined coconut oil as a topical and rubbing that on so lactobacillus and coconut oil in coconuts actually there is um
46:36 lactobacillus. So they're there. That's interesting. I didn't know that. So we're talking about doing the fermented plant juice, adding drops into what I already juice, taking, doing, burying myself in the dirt, and then doing this OHN, which is the lactobacillus. So that's three different things, correct? Well, yeah, and they're all a bunch of steps to go through them all.
47:22 Where I'd suggest you start is just taking something you already have growing that you can make. or you said you already have the fermented plant juices, I guess, right? We can make fresh too. We have enough supply to make some fresh. So both ways we can do it. Yeah, I would say start there. You mentioned the iron. What's the most important mineral to you that you need? Right. Iron. Iron. I still, even though the iron level has, it's still below what Western medicine would like it to be. But we have beets right now. We put those in my juice and we eat the beet leaves because they're so tasty.
48:10 Not like the kind in the grocery store, you know. So we actually make a salad out of the beet leaves. So we can use that for our fermented plant juice. Oh, yes. Yeah. The beet, everything. everything about it yeah yeah getting enough energy right now is that's you know it's hard it's hard to find that energy just to go through the day so and spinach yeah spinach is full of iron so we do a lot of spinach in our juice yeah even the new zealand spinach uh like the very high in iron and that would be a good one too. Yeah.
48:58 So we're just starting into spring. So we don't have a whole lot growing right now, but we have beets and we have carrots, we have turmeric, ginger. I don't know. I think that's A lot of herbs. A lot of herbs. We do a lot of herbs. Well, all of those, you know, I am looking in like an herbalism book to see, you know, what maladies and what things. And just like the reason I talk about Korean natural farming, it's just like it's a recipe set of things that like enables you to be your like your pharmacist in a certain way.
49:44 Like farm assistant, pharmacist. I don't know. And on words. Yeah. Yeah. but your but you but your farm being your um because you guys are already doing it like you guys already got this like head start of like um your like you're saying you got these beats like you don't have to rely on someone else and you know now that the the nutrients going in and everything are like the best like that must be such like a a sovereignty feeling yeah yeah. The nicest thing is to eat them and they taste so delicious. You know, you go buy it at a grocery store and you're like, what is this? You know,
50:30 or you eat it at a restaurant. Even it's like, it's just not, it's really hard to eat other food. That's not like, especially tomatoes and beets and things like that because you, and lettuce and squash, the differences, especially since he started doing the Korean natural farming and just took it to a whole new level. A whole new level. The taste of it. Yeah. Yeah. Just change the whole scope of everything that we do from our herbs to even our non-bearing, just regular trees. We spray it on our trees. I mean, they're just healthier. You know, you think we're crazy, but I don't know.
51:06 You know, it looks good to me. So, yeah, we spray it everywhere. We love it. We just, yeah, no problem there. Yes, everything's so much healthier and you can really taste, you know, you eat your own food and you get excited because that initial reaction of it just accelerated in your mouth with all the nutrient density. It changes the game. People try our food and they're just like, I've never tasted anything like that in my life. And so, you know, we always get excited about it. We're honored to do that. I mean, it's amazing to give. So.
51:47 And even with the fermented plant juice, like David, when he's making it or when he's down in the barn just working, he'll just go and take, put his finger in it. And he said, since he's been doing it for about six months or. Oh, probably a year. He said just physically he feels like better. And he's not doing anything else. I do teaspoons of it. You know, I mean, like every, every few days, I'm, you know, oh, it still tastes great. You know, I figure, well, it's not killing me yet. So it's actually a good thing. It's a lot of fun.
52:19 I've never experienced anything like it in my life, and you get it all right here from one location. And I think that's really special to be able to have the tools to do that and understand this more and more. But I think taking it to the next level and creating the soils and doing the soil buff, we're going to document every bit of it. So I'm very excited to move forward on this. And then having you gather a lot of information for us, it really helps us with the groundwork and getting set up. Where'd you go? We can't see your face anymore. Oh, there you are. Someone's saying that they can't.
53:00 Yeah, well, it's really. They can't what? Find Angelica. oh well you know um yeah you can yeah the the best thing i would say is that ultimately you know this this came out of um you know korea china japan it's kind of um the um you know it's like oriental herbs that come from from that region and in in california you guys have um wild angelica at least i saw it i saw it up north when i was up in um humboldt area um so i know it grows in your your climate there um and the thing is to find out you know what these herbs
53:50 are in your area and then use the same recipe so the the difference the difference between the um what i call the the medicine and the food is that the medicine after you're done fermenting it you add in alcohol and so fermentation opens these cells up and then you're adding alcohol to do a tincture so alcohol pulls out different substances than the sugar does and um so do fats pull out different other things so it's doing a um an alcohol tincture and and then that's and that's what you're doing and those things usually you want to do that
54:35 tincture with are usually things that are herbal um you know you know actually a lot of people use um the roots of their cannabis plant after they're done they'll they'll pull it up and they'll do that recipe so they'll they'll make a ferment this way and then they'll add the alcohol in and it pulls out these different medicinal compounds that exist in in the roots that are really um healing as well Oh, that's we actually have about a half a gallon of sativa. We took a very large plant and made it into fermented plant juice two years ago. And it's yeah, we could. Yeah, we'll use that.
55:20 Yeah, definitely. I didn't know you could use the root as well. I mean, that makes total sense. Hmm. That was an interesting thing. It's just like the old, you know, Native Americans use the whole part of the buffalo. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We used from the, you know, I basically cut it off at the base and I took the entire plant and took hours to chop hours. but once we got it, and it took a little while, it took a little while to do the fermentation. It took a little bit of time because all the flowering and everything was, it was at the peak of the season.
56:02 And that was a very interesting one to watch separate. And it took much more time, but totally a great batch. And we, when it's fresh, we take the leaves and we put it in with my juice. We do a cold press juice. We do a cold press juice. We do the leaf and the bud. We use a whole piece of the plant. And that way we get the THCAs and the different, you know, components out of that as well. So that's a good one. Well, with what you guys are doing there, I'd be really interested in seeing kind of a study.
56:45 what would be the difference between doing like a fermented type of thing through that process and or the the cold pressing like i'm i i it's just something that i'm i'm being interested in to see i think i think the science around um you know what what you guys are doing these these methods are like are um you know i've heard so many uh healing stories from these um of using medicinal plants this way. So, well, we believe, I mean, we believe because we see it with, with the, with the CBD and, and the, and the other components that we use,
57:27 we contribute a lot of that to, to her sleep health, her energy health, her, I mean, her overall, we've seen it both without and with, and with it's so much better. and you know it's a miracle by itself just using all the cannabis stuff the way we try to and and and filter it into the diet yeah that healing is definitely a well-rounded you can't just pick one thing you know you've got to have your exercise you've got to have your diet correct you have to have the right herbalist and the supplements and just also believing you know in
58:03 yourself and ridding yourself of emotional baggage and all that extra that we all come with in daily life. So, you know, it's not an easy road, you know, it'd be much easier just to walk down to the doctors and take that pill and hope for the best. But those have long-term effects too. So everything, just like we see the garden, the way he treats his garden, and we get to reap the benefits by the taste of it. The same thing goes with what we put in our body, because then we get to reap the benefits. I honestly believe I'm still here, you know, instead of opposed to
58:41 not being here by all the natural stuff I'm doing. And yeah, I still have a long ways to go, but I'm not discouraged that it's not working. Well, yeah, I absolutely think you're on the right path. I wanted to reach back there because I've been showing this device to folks. I got it through the farmer's union and it's from the Bionutrient Food Association. And what this thing does is it's a little scanner that has a bunch of lights in there that I can hold this up to something and scan it. And it tells me actually the nutrient density of different plants. Oh, that's cool.
59:26 And so far in our testing, like, you know, something that came from the store tested in about 75 and something a farmer in the union grew, it tested in at 93. Wow. So, you know, for whatever it's worth, it's getting better, this technology to understand. But there is a true difference between what you guys are doing, where you're growing. Like, you have a, you know, you're in it to get the bio nutrients up. So, like, your medicine, the whole way you're doing it, like, I just think that that is, like, you know, I'm happy, you guys. You're going to document this story and the whole thing.
1:00:07 And, and yeah, Darla, I mean, just the healing that you're able to experience, you know, it's like, when we're healthy, we don't think about health, right? Yeah, as much. No, not at all. You don't, you know, it's hard, like, if I go somewhere to out to a restaurant, and I'm watching people eat all this food, and in my head, I'm thinking, don't do it. but you know people are going to live their life the way they want to live their life yeah but start eating healthy before you actually become ill it might work better for your life yeah fewer cheeseburgers for breakfast
1:00:48 yeah yeah our goal yeah our goal is actually before we even plant food we build our soils. We focus on the biochar correctly made, inoculated, the different components. And when you have that really ideal soil health, you have health because now you're getting all the cakes and cookies and all the delicious stuff that, you know, rises in that food. And the food is happier growing. It's like a relationship. They're all singing to each other. So it's very beautiful something you don't see on a natural farm i mean not not and i i have a lot of respect
1:01:35 for farmers i'm learning to become a better farmer um every day but but when you see those harmonics of everything meshing and growing health is just it it's free to you you know it's worth getting there, but it's a wonderful process. Well, I think of it almost as an extension of our human immune system too. Like, you know, the soil's immune system, the soil's biology that is an extension of us. And as we're making the soil better and we're treading on it, it's exchanging its microbiome with us, you know, and we're having this co-evolution together. So yeah, I mean,
1:02:21 really, really, you know, healthy soil. Like if you have, if you have really, really, really, really healthy soil, it's hard to grow bad plants and it would be hard to be sick, right? Yes. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. I mean, it's, it really begins with great soil and understanding how to keep it alive while you're, while you're making it, how to keep it thriving so that when you're coming back for more crops and intercropping, you're, you're, you're succeeding. And so, yeah, it's quite special, actually. It's very humbling.
1:02:56 so so i guess uh you know um to to get back into you know um if we talk about the imo bath a little bit towards you know and make make sure this is something you're that um darla you're you're into and that david you guys both have the the knowledge to make one that's going to be really healing is there is there anything you need to know about that i mean i i show i have the process in that video, I had the recipe in the book, but is there anything you want to know about, you know, any concerns you have? Just my thinking, I'm not a scientist, but I can only see it as a beneficial exposure
1:03:44 to the full body to get all that beautiful, rich soil active. And I could only see it as feeding the body and then taking away what's not good by the sweating process. But I also believe that that heat exchange will. I mean, in my own mind, it tells me that's a win win all the way around. Just I'm going to do it myself. I want to know. So it's going to be a joint effort. so that uh but i i don't see it as a negative um so basically he's just gonna dig the hole and i'm gonna lay in that he's gonna bury me in it in the soil that he's made in for about 10 to 15 minutes correct
1:04:37 yeah so think think of it as like you know like you're gonna bury yourself in a compost pile you know except for it's like clean then cleaner than compost but just like you know basically above my chest i try to get you know six inches or so you know and i and i for for me at my size um a um like if i make a like 200 pounds of material it's it's it's enough to cover me really well so have you done an imo bath before yeah i i love it all right all right um yeah so so so the other the other the other thing i i wanted
1:05:32 to bring up you know i i i love it it's so i was talking to kind of the hippie like you're in you're in this love vibration type stuff but the other the other thing about that is that the heat that's coming in it's it it it syncs with your like mitochondria and your mitochondria are constantly exploding to make energy for you and like when your mitochondria die that's why you age and stuff and like there's all this you know where and so it actually synchronizes somehow with them and gives them like a little bit of a break because that warmth that vibration that's coming
1:06:08 in is the same kind of like energy they're putting out like somehow this is like mitochondrial therapy if that's that's kind of break it down to and then going into the depths of the science of that because you know the the wavelengths and all this you know you're in a radio frequency bath of like good microbes i i don't know that's that's to me to me it's like it's it's really um it's it's it's peaceful to be in the the bath like the warming feeling it's like you're being held in this way that's like it's really relieving it feels just like this this deep relaxation but
1:06:46 yeah how often do you do it uh you know when i when i have piles like i used to run classes here once a month and so you know um when when i'm here with uh uh with all the students we all sit there and we put our feet in it. Yeah. And we'll just sit and have a class around it, just talking story. And it's like, oh, it's so, it's like a little sauna. It's just like, oh, it's, you know, and then, and then, you know, try and get myself in the pile at least once or twice during the, during the class, you know, my wife Sue's always, it's like, bury me, bury me. Like, yeah.
1:07:27 Do you have any specific, other than just, you know, the euphoria of feeling good, do you have any specific health needs that it has targeted that you've noticed? Well, I already consider myself pretty healthy. Like, I'm not in the need of this. But I will give you a story from someone else close to me. he had an eczema on his leg that was quite large on his upper leg. And he had been doing antibiotics for about a month, but it hadn't really gone away, starting to recede a bit. He went and got in the IMO bath for some, you know, just like not thinking anything of it.
1:08:11 The next day he looked at his eczema, it was about half the size. He was like, okay. He did it again. The next day he looked at it, it was like a quarter of the size. And then by the third day, he did it again, and it was gone. So that's his story. He was also doing multiple treatments. So, you know, but he noticed a rapid change. And these microbes are so, like, our skin, our soil are one. And these microbes, you know, are tuned in to really heal skin particularly is what they like to help with. That's awesome. Yeah. Yeah.
1:08:56 That's impressive. Yeah. You know, I mean, yes, you hear about it. You hear about people doing it and, you know, they come through with their ailments. And so, you know, at this point, we have nothing to lose. We have everything to gain. I think it'll make the overall health even better. So, yeah. Lots to gain. What I'm getting from you, though, is you keep doing it every day. Okay, okay. So frequency, like when you start a pile, like this is like, it's kind of actually, it's like watching a baby. Like, you know, that's why I don't do it all the time.
1:09:34 Because I'm like, it's something I got to take care of. If I leave it alone for many hours, it'll overheat. And then those are not the microbes I want to be bathing in. Right. I have to, once I start this thing, it's about, it's about a seven to 10 day process for me where the pile will heat up. And for seven to 10 days, I'll have, or actually not for about seven, five to seven days, I'll have a pile that's like hot enough that I could bathe in it three times a day. If I wanted to, I could jump in the morning, jump in in the midday, could jump in at night.
1:10:07 and for for five days i'm gonna have a pile it's hot enough that i can bury myself in that i have going and i can't i can't like turn it off and turn it on you know it's not like it's it's like once i start it again i gotta go though for five days through and so so you get you know if you treated yourself three times a day you could get five days of treatment and then and then wait a week and then do five days of treatment you know like start these piles and just have them going while you, while you get in and out. So, so that's, that's what I mean of like, you know,
1:10:41 like start it's, it's, it's actually, I mean, it's a fair amount of work. I'm not, I'm not going to lie, like tending after a pile and like turning it and making sure that it doesn't overheat is, is like, you know, better clear your schedule. Yes. Yes. Making soil is a, it's a, you need to be there on site. Definitely. I'm with you. Yeah. We, and we're doing that. We're, we're, we're shifting to, to create the idea that we can put this together. Yeah. So, you know, cause you need the hours, you want to make sure your pile doesn't,
1:11:20 you know, cause then it's a waste, you know, Oh, it got 130 degrees. Okay. start over. No, no, no, no. Don't start over. You let your nose know. And it can be above temperature for a little bit, not a long time. Once it breaches a certain temperature, different microbes start growing. And the longer it's there, the more of them that grow. So if it goes up a little bit and you turn it, it's not like, oh no, end of the world. It's just the longer it's above 130, 125, that zone 140, there's different microbes growing. And those aren't
1:11:55 those aren't the ones you want. They're not, they're not the soil microbes. They're not the skin microbes. They are different. Um, you know, yeah. My research, you know, about 110, 115, and then blend it, the pile as we make it as far as temperature, keep it, keep it around 110, 115 or so. Yeah. In the very, in the very beginning, um heating it up to 120 and then from there it should be self-sufficient but sometimes if you turn it a little bit early in the first turn you can slow it down and i've had problems well not
1:12:37 problems it just never then really heat heat it up to a higher temperature if i turned it a little early but okay um but yeah other than that it's it's like you know the turning of it you'll just you know each time do a treatment and yes you will i mean yeah and and and while you're doing that hydrate a lot you know good coconut water fresh or you know uh these juices the all the you know make the blend so that you're as you're sweating out the bad you're bringing in the good and replacements and you know um yeah yeah never detox unless you have the other side coming into
1:13:18 you for nutrient because it'll wipe you out. It'll. But also also in their salts, you know, electrolytes, you know, this stuff. I mean, I'm sure. Yeah, I detox where they call it herxing where you physically get ill because you detox too much. So I know that feeling. It's not fun. It's not fun. So you definitely have to have your minerals and your salt and lots of fluids, lots of nutrients going back in yeah so so taking it easy doing this turning a pile making making these things i think uh i just i like you know my my thought my reasoning my understanding is just you know
1:14:03 more nutrient density more microbial soil that we're tuned into already and these things of of healing i just you know it's funny that we call it korean natural farming and it's for your farm when it's like these same things, you know, as you're making your solutions, like, you know, take a sip and then, you know, as you're turning your microbes to put out into your farm, get in the pile and heal yourself, you know? Yeah. Yes. Definitely. Yes. It's interesting too, because the more you eat healthy or the more you do these healthy things, your body actually craves it.
1:14:40 so for me if I was going to just go say to Marie Callender's and eat a chocolate cream pie which used to be my favorite I can't because it's just oh it just doesn't taste good anymore at all and people think that's crazy but once you eat just whole foods eating something that's unnatural just like putting something unnatural on your skin it just it doesn't work anymore so um well i i've really appreciated talking to you guys um you know uh i got i got like if people want to follow your um your journey you said you're gonna take
1:15:27 take photos of it where do where do you share that with with people um my daughter has a tick tock um and it's uh it's sugar shack farm so we're there and then i have an instagram with my name on it david boley uh gardening artist and and that's what we do with that. She also has an Instagram, but it's her private account. We use two of the social media sites, Instagram and TikTok. I should show you. She was...
1:16:16 Oh, sorry. Oh, I put it back. Never mind. Never mind. Well, so before we go here, I just want to ask you, both you both answer this individually, but what's your message to the world? I think in this journey for me, just this health journey, it's really taught me to just be kind to your fellow human being because we all have a story. We've all gone through something that's not fun and we need to be conscious that another person may be going through their story at this
1:17:04 moment. People see me, they always say, oh, you look so healthy. You look great. And they don't know that I've just spent the last three or four days in bed, you know, just barely able to take care of myself. And I have a wonderful husband and daughter who lift me up. So I think anytime, you never know how you're going to affect another person just by being kind to them, even a smile in a grocery store and eat healthy. Always eat healthy. Yeah, I think I think for me is learning to say no a lot.
1:17:38 And it with this journey working with Darla and my daughter, you really need to focus on your mental health, your spiritual health and your physical health. So if you're in a journey of being ill and I have been ill, I've had an incredible caretaker. And then now there's a reverse role here. But saying no, saying no allows you more freedom in your mind to push back on just what's coming into your own family. So learning to say no and allowing you to have quiet time and heal your mind.
1:18:25 I think that's the greatest thing that I've learned through all of this is self-care, self-care. And, you know, I mean, I know the world is in chaos and crisis and and so are we. So, you know, it's okay to detune and give yourself a moment and rest your mind. So, yeah. That would be my thing. Well, thank you so much for this conversation here. I hope, you know, in your journey in healing, and I hope this message, you know, if it helps someone else, amen. I mean, that's the whole point of what we're doing, Sharon.
1:19:12 So thanks. Thanks for being part of this. Absolutely. Thank you for having us. And thank you for all the links to help us research this more. Yeah. Gosh. And we'll keep you posted as we post. We'll send you messages so you can see how our journey is coming along. And we appreciate what you're doing. We appreciate what you're doing. It's phenomenal. Great job. Thank you very much. Yeah. Well, aloha. Aloha. All right.
