I guess we scheduled a little late, but getting organized for what are we going to accomplish this year and also reviewing what we did this past year. And so I have a little bit of that in store. I can read a few stats. We just approved our annual, excuse me, our annual report. And, um, you know, that'll be available for members and everyone to look at there. Uh, but I do want to go over a little bit cause we did,

Um, and that's a great mission. So we did that. Um, and then we got Marcus here. Go to your local kombucha shop, pick up their extra kombucha, and then load all the natural farming supplies in there. You can pick up a little ATV sprayer and plug it into your 12-volt system right through the cigarette lighter. Now it's mostly used for what you call plugging things in, but that's how popular cigarettes were. Cars used have cigarette lighters in them. Yeah. And then apparently it's snowing up in upstate New York,

11:31 but down by the city, it's all snow. Yeah. So cool. You know, and then one thing before I get into the annual report, like I said, you know, I got a few robots on my desk. I don't know if you can see this. I'm going to blur this one out, but I've been working on this robot right here. can anyone tell what this control board and everything like the battery I took off the but I'm going to power it with this little um this little pico here that's a pi pico it's going to sit right on the front there and then got this little robot and then I got to put on this motor control board

12:14 and the potentiometers are here. So anyone know what this is going to be? Like, so these little levers go forward and back. Anyone know what I'm building? There's two levers on either side. Anyone know? Any guesses? Any guesses? Any guesses? Little robot there. It's for something else. So I'm building just the simulator for it. I wanted to build an authentic actual bottom. Yes, like a mower. A mower. That's exactly it. So this is simulating.

13:01 This is going to be my simulator for a zero-turn mower. So I got these levers here, and then it'll turn just like a little zero-turn mower. That's what I'm trying to build here. And then, yeah, so the little zero turn mower goes there. And then once I got the simulator built, you know, the little sim, then I got this here, which I've flashed with. This is a BeagleBone Blue here, which apparently this board is super hard to find documentation on. I probably should have gone with something like a PixHawk or something.

13:42 um but this is this right here let me pull this okay because that's not necessary um this this board here is uh runs ardupilot so i've flashed this with ardupilot and instead of ardupilot which is built for like drones i actually flashed it with ardurover so this thing knows how to automatically autopilot land-based rovers. And then I got these two little servos on it here. And basically that's these little servos. And then the other component for this that'll plug into that is, well, there's two more components that I need to do this.

14:26 and one is one is this thing here which this is a um this this little thing right here is the unit and then these two antennas stick out like this and as long as they're 30 centimeters away from each other and I'm going to mount this to that little mower these are little gps antennas and this little thing right here is the GPS receiver, and it'll enable me to mount this onto that little simulated mower, so then it will know where it is and which direction it's facing, how fast it's going, position everything, and then with another little component here,

15:18 This is just a radio to send telemetry data from the computer back to the little rover. And then that will work with the little autopilot, this autopilot that's here. And then that will control the servos, which obviously for my simulator, I got these small servos. But for for my when I get at this on a big mower, I'm basically going to swap these servos out with servos that can move about 100 kilos or so. And those will be hooked to the positional arms on the zero turn mower. And so now I can have a autopilot mower.

16:02 and if you drive the mower on the exact path, hit record, the computer will start recording all the waypoints at a certain interval and then you'll drive the mower and then later you can just go back and without you sitting on the mower, you can just hit play and the mower will drive that exact same route. Same speed, same everything with the autopilot. This little computer right here, this tiny little thing right here, this little board, I mean with a few components and some big servos on it will then mow for you and go on that exact

16:39 mowing route. And so I've been working on that and it's been fun. I realized I really like building robots and that's like my passion. I mean, I like saving the world too and fixing our ocean and doing this office hour really, you know, and getting these things out there, but really, um, really doing that. Yeah. And even if the land's not flat, um, it will, it will be able to, you know, those, those, those GPS antennas can tell if there's one down one up, it can tell exactly where they are, um, in space and time because of the precision GPS that we host, um,

So if I go here to the pure KNF website here, pure knf.org, and scroll down a little bit, you'll see that we have this, you know, this RTK thing. So we can of precision GPS in this small to this larger circle here. And let me get my mouse on. So, so this here, you know, so anywhere, anyone who's within here, besides that there's flight restriction, although, well, I guess if you're going to fly a drone, there's an airport here,

18:06 so you can't fly there, but you can still drive autonomous, autonomous mowers. So anyone out in this area that's doing a whole bunch of mowing and, and, um, like one of the, one of the things I see is people, you know, spray pesticides and all these things and they're trying, you know, farmers are trying to, you know, they need more time to do natural farming. And so it's like, well, if you can automate your mower, now you got more time and you could potentially also put a sprayer on your mower. So a little like ATV sprayer, maybe like a hundred, 200, 200 gallon

18:38 tank on there with sprayers and also have the same automated zero turn mower drive and spray everything as it's mowing as well. So, you know, again, double doubling up on that and making, making that happen. So, but you know, we do have precision GPS. And so if you do have RTK in your area, which most areas like in America already have RTK there, like real-time kinematics, GPS and trip. Anyway, it gets kind of complex, but you can automate these things. So I'm building a little simulator, building a little thing to do, drive it around. We'll see how it works. But I always think, yeah,

And then Stonemasons here, it says they saw some future cannabis project that made an app chatbot tells you what to plant to what plant to ferment in your area for fpj super cool um i did i did look at that i saw an early version of it and it was telling you to add water to your plant juices and things and so either the trap bot chatbot was trained on bad info and or i don't know maybe they don't they do it differently but that is not a good idea. But learning what plant juice to use for your FPJ, also you can just look

20:05 out what weeds are growing there and without even bringing AI into the equation and all the energy that's wasted through AI to train those data models, you can actually just go and use the weeds that are popping up too. So a number of different ways to approach that problem, but cool to see technology, since we are in the tech age, be applied to natural farming. What better thing than applying technology toward healing and regenerating the earth? So yeah, check that out. I just wanted to share that because I get excited. And when I get excited, I want to share. And then what else is going on. Oh, I wanted to share with you here. Let me put this into viewing mode. And also wanted to share this here a little bit today. I don't know if I'm supposed to share this

So this is the 2023 Pure KNF Annual Report. Our mission, like I said, the mission of the Pure KNF Foundation or the Pure KNF Foundation mission is we exist to restore life through microbial awareness, education, and action. So super simple mission, which enables us to get, you know, people aware of microbes because you don't know what you don't know, right? And so I got to make people aware.

22:10 once they're aware, uh, education comes in because now you got to be consciously taught about them and, and understand and then practice. And then that action puts it into the, um, so that after, after you start practicing it, then you'll be just like unconsciously competent in it. Um, which is if anyone took my training, they'll, they'll understand what I'm saying there of these, these things are very important. So all three of these, you know, teaching what you don't know, teaching you so you know, and then putting it into action so that you

22:43 get so good that you forget that you didn't know. Or you forget, yeah, and get so good at it. But that's our mission. We've been doing it. If you look at the table of contents, we got a whole lot here. You know, mission, our partners, personnel, projects, bylaw updates, committees, treasurer's report, all that fit on one page. That was pretty amazing. But we got 12 pages of an annual report, which is pretty incredible. So our partners, you know, working with ARIA Foundation, one of our key fiscal sponsors, working with the Farmers Union United, and, you know, always partnering,

So at our least popular days and or holidays or whatever, there are only 42 folks tuning in. But on average, 74 of you tuning in, sharing,

I mean, I mean, not that, like, you know, I just, I mean, it's my bias that I think this is a good thing. Maybe it's, maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

And so this is what I'm talking about when I'm talking about KNF support here. and so we had you know 40 new questions 41 new answers right and it's down from last year where we had 116 new questions and 135 new answers but I speculate that that's because the office hours has been more um you know we're getting so much of a robust library there there's less reasons and there's less reasons to ask new questions right a certain point every question may be asked I mean, maybe not right then, but, um, and so in total, there's 357 questions and 406 answers in total.

But I thought that was pretty incredible that our website is not only it's serving up 1.8 million views of the questions and answers and people looking at these questions. You know, if I do go back and look here at the KNF support and I go here, it shows, you know, like this question has 114 views on it. This one has 137. This one has a thousand.

Um, but regardless, our website is just churning out answer, you know, serving it up to whoever's looking at it. Hopefully it's legit, you know, and there's 580 folks, 80 folks registered for KF support. So that means if you go there and you ask a question, potentially 580 people are there to help you answer or, you know, help you out with community support through this. Some great, great folks helping out there.

34:08 So I just thought those are interesting stats of what we're doing this year. Also, we gave out a scholarship this year to Pedro, helped him get here from Brazil. He's in the house. What's up, Pedro? That was, it seemed like years ago, but it was really this year, January 2023. I mean, this year's annual report year. It's not 2024, obviously, but but helped him get here from Sao Paulo to the KNF farm in Hawaii, get a seven day training. And then now he's back teaching in Sao Paulo. So that's another thing we do is help out scholarships with folks.

We're a nonprofit trying to spread the mission. As long as you're on the mission, you know, in a legit request. And so also, you know, the drone spraying program, moving on, other things we did this year. July 2023, we got this Agris T40 agricultural spraying drone, as well as accessories to get it going.

35:26 And we're flying, you know, we're testing, we're researching the dosage rates as well as the flight frequency to be effective at eliminating banana bungee top, doing pasture restoration to increase health and vitality of grasses on degraded former Caneland, and orchard crop resiliency, using only KNF-early sprayed solutions to keep up fertility. So we're doing the research to find out, you know, how and what and, you know, the limitations of these things and what and how they can be done. So if you look at this picture here, this is a picture of everywhere the drone has flown this year.

36:06 These crazy paths that are going was when I first got the drone and I was just testing it out to fly it. So there's some crazy paths in there that aren't lined up on fields. But all these are just fields. and this is the banana bungee top research area these are the pasture research areas this is some of the fruit tree research area this is a fruit tree research area and then these are also pastures over here and so this is everywhere the drone flew this year in 2023 all these in this this these square ones out here were a mapping task so i was flying the drone out to map it takes

36:46 it takes photos and will generate like, like real time Google map data for you. Cause sometimes Google map data is like years out of date. Um, so it'll generate brand new data for you on those maps. So that's what those square lines are out there. Um, I think I got a sneezing. good thing i got a mute button there um so this year we logged 274 flights that doesn't mean 200 and say what's up cecily you got a member in the house what's up and i think yeah someone else is a member in here too right if you're a member drop that you're a member because this is for you

37:30 This is what is now part of your foundation, what you're doing. You're helping make this happen. So we logged 274 flights, which does not mean one. It means that the drone lands every five minutes. So typically, I think there's six or seven flights per session of spraying because the drone can only hold 10 gallons at a time. when it takes off. So, um, so there's a bunch of flights per thing. It's not like we flew it 274 days. Uh, I think we ended up, uh, it was less than that. So, and so we logged about 15 hours

38:16 of flight time, uh, meaning the drone was in the air for 15, 15 hours. Um, and with a five minute battery life, you know, it's like, it's landing and taking off a whole bunch to make 15 hours happened. And we sprayed out 13, 1300 gallons, um, this year and treated 95 acres. So, um, and each time it says each time we treat roughly 6.7 acres and spray 95 gallons with about an hour of flight time per, um, per week session. So you can kind of do the math to figure out what that's, what that is from the total there. But, um, but that drone, we've been using it. Um, you know,

38:59 I'd like to see this year. I think we're going to, um, extend out to getting, uh, I got to get licensed and then we're going to be extending out to, uh, nearby farms to treat them. So even more flight time, more acreage, more treatment areas, more research, all that happening. Um, really cool stuff. And we also got our RTK GPS, which I was talking about earlier. And this enables anyone around us to do precision agriculture with millimeter level precision up to 20 kilometers away from right where I'm sitting right now. Um, cause the base station is just above me,

39:39 just to the left. It's about a meter away from me over there. Um, so, and then, uh, food canoe, I guess I didn't fill that in, but, um, also this year we produced, uh, four documentaries. Um, and I did go to Maui, but we ended up not, the foundation ended up not doing that. But while we, while I was over on Maui, um,

That's, that's great there in terms of garnering members and certified instructors. So we're really trying to get a good foundation together before we do these things. And it's taken longer than I thought, but slow and steady, just like the pushing upward, the gradual progress, you know, if you bend around obstacles versus trying to push them out of the way, it's like,

So largely the accomplishments of the membership and certification committee where 25 folks were taught through the FAM program on Maui. 10 folks came here to the KNF farm and learned, got certified level two manufacturers course, and nine of those took the level three mentorship course. So those folks are now teachers out there

We did a bunch of pro bono work. That's what that means because a ton of work was put in. Um, and so we got all that done, $0 pro bono. Amazing. Um, and then our HFU committee is, um, is suspended right now. It's inactive because we were going to go to the HFU convention and bring a whole bunch of natural farming there and have an educational booth and do a whole bunch of things. But the HFU,

And the answer is no. The roosts, the floor is active. And so the floor will transform the poop into actual food and the Chickens will then go under the roost and stir it.

1:00:15 You can put like cement mixing trays type of thing, soil mixing trays with like metal grate or hardware cloth under so the poop will fall through and then they can't stir it. And that way you can collect some manure if you're going to use it otherwise. Unfermented manure that way. But no, under their roost, the manure just like the rest of the floor, it gets eaten up and it gets turned into a different texture, kind of a fine dust type of stuff. And so, no, there's no cleaning necessary in a correctly built natural farming chicken house. No cleaning necessary.
