IMO1 Troubleshooting, Water-Soluble Calcium, Egg Yolk Oil

Bonds emailed in with a question about failing IMO1 collections that came out moldy with pink and yellow spots. Drake says mix the yellow and red bits in rather than tossing them, and pull the next collection a day or two earlier, filling the box up to two-thirds with rice. Propagated IMO (IMO3, IMO4) is actually easier to run in winter — insulate the pile with a sleeping bag and hay bales. Cecily's IMO3 was overheating in a heat wave, so Drake told her to spread it thinner than the usual 8-inch-to-a-foot depth so it can breathe and stay under 120°F (50°C).

From Master Cho's chicken seminar footage, Korean students toast eggshells over high heat until they brown like a marshmallow, then dissolve them slowly in vinegar to make water-soluble calcium. Dr. Park explains this calcium absorbs better than store-bought tablets, but only a small sprinkle is safe or it can cause kidney stones. Paired with calcium phosphate (calfos), it stops morning sickness in pregnant pigs and cattle, and starting at 45 days old it sets hens up for healthy egg laying; soft eggs or a stop in laying means another two-days-on, two-days-off dose.

9:04 I reckon I've put about seven collections out over the summer and I haven't had a successful one. Solemn face. Here's a picture of my latest one that was actually the best looking, but I still don't think it was great, but curious to see what you think. When I opened it, it had a white top, but when I upturned it out of the basket you can see that it looks moldy and there's some spots with pink and yellow. I hedged my bets and had a sugar anyway. Took out the yellow and red bits thoughts. First off don't you don't need to take out their yellow and red bits.

9:40 Just mix it in. Would you bother with it? All the baskets and boxes I've used have had mold on them. I've scrubbed them, soaked them in vinegar, and sterilized them. Would you reuse them, or is it possible they're too contaminated? I would really appreciate any guidance, as I want to get a decent one before it's too cold here. Probably too late. 11:35 to me it looks like the collection is going a bit long on this you know it looks like if you pulled it a day or two or like first off more rice second off pull it a day or two earlier and i think you would have better the molds wouldn't uh the the these microbes here are starting to eat the other microbes and starting to go and these are like so i think you need to pull it earlier this is what i was thinking it looks like the center is starting to get interesting so pulling it earlier is the way to do it so um and also uh

12:18 started to work on the propagated IMO would it be a problem doing that in the winter or should I wait until the temps are warmer it is way easier to do propagated IMO so IMO 3 or um foundation IMO, IMO 4 in the winter. It's way easier. I don't have a greenhouse, so it'd be pretty exposed to cold conditions. Then just get an old sleeping bag and throw it over it and keep it warm. You can insulate it with some hay bales around it or something like that. But if you're doing IMO in the winter, great time to do it. I don't, you know, here winter doesn't

12:59 mean a good difference, but where it's cold, it's way easier to do it when it's cold out. The temperatures just do not rise as quickly, and you can put a sleeping bag over it and hay bales around it and do really well. Great time to do it. So I'd say this collection was okay. It's okay. 17:29 Master Cho is so enlightened. So amazing. In the hospital setting, it's temperature controlled by the heater, but home delivery is mother's temperature. So I think we're going to talk about why the heater is happening. and I think he designed the chicken pen, you know, go back to little baby chicks here for a minute. And they're talking about putting a heater in there. Do you need it? Probably not. If you do it the right design is what he's saying, right? And you got to have enough love.

18:18 So anyway, let's pause that for a sec. We'll go over here. Cecily has a question. It says, I've been doing IMO 3 the last few days in a heat wave and it has been really difficult getting the turning right. The temp goes up very quickly even at three or four in the morning so make your pile thinner. If your temperatures are running away from you make it thinner coming down to you know Usually, you'd keep it about 8 inches to a foot or so, but get it thinner, thinner, thinner, thinner. And when it's thin, it just can't gather as much heat. It has more surface area to breathe.

19:04 The key is you want to keep it aerobic. When the temperature goes above 120 or above 50 Celsius, that is when it starts to consume the oxygen. So more surface area equals more oxygen, keeping it aerobic, keeping it there, so making the pile thin. The thinner, you don't want to make it too thin so it cools and fizzles out, but thinner will help it to keep the temperature from going up so quickly. That's a good tip there for you. so so at this chicken seminar this you know if you sit here and you watch it we sat around a whole lot and this is where we just got wisdom

19:50 like this was more than knowledge and things you just can't get from Master Cho when there's a class of people there like yelling at them but what about this but what about that it's like when we just as advanced students, we just STFU, this guy right here, we just, just, you know, just STFU and we listen because when you're an advanced student, you realize your question is probably going to get answered as things go on time through time. When you're a noob, you're like, what about this? What about that? And so we just sat there and we listened. And that's how we got

20:29 all this information where he just talked about what he wanted to on his track as him being the master and us being the students. And we learned a whole lot. So this was one of the best seminars I think I've ever attended. This chicken seminar, super good, amazing, sitting around. It was in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. So four languages being spoken there for us. So if you didn't hear it the first time, you had a chance to hear it the second time. And then the other reason that it was so awesome is we ended up doing all the solutions, right? Here's us making

21:11 calcium. So we are cooking eggshells here. And this is the thing where I, where I always talk about this. Um, and, um, yeah, so making calcium here. So these guys, the Korean, they're trying to winnow this or, uh, they're trying to make the, the dust, the go away. So watching this at regular speed. Now watch it at 1.75 times. So we're making the, uh, cooking the eggs. Um, and then I always talk about this because there, there were these Korean dudes

21:58 where he always says to do it at a low temperature, but then these one Korean dudes, these dudes right here, these guys, they didn't care, man. They just turned that stuff up high and stirred like crazy. And theirs came out, finished about probably 10, 15 minutes before ours did. And they were able to have it toast those shells up really well. So as soon as the thing starts smoking, turn it down. There's Master Cho making the calcium, stirring it around, making sure it's all good. Look at them work, man. What an amazing dude. And doing this with wood sticks.

22:40 That's what we had, you know? And flipping those eggs around, doing those things. Let's see here. Yeah, these guys, these Korean dudes, man, they just, when it got hot and it was overburning, he would just take it out and flip it up and have it winnow and put it back. These dudes, man, they were, they're epic. There's Bolo San doing his thing. Oh no, that's not Bolo San, is my Chinese friend. But yeah, you see how the eggshells are toasting? That's what you want to do. You want to toast them nice because when they get nice like a brown marshmallow and toasted,

23:18 then you are cooking out all the organic matter and cooking out all the moisture, and then they are going to dissolve really well, and you're going to get really good calcium. So again just flipping it up like that to get all the leftover membranes to fall out of there that's good good technique there from uh the eggshells should be toasted well um to do that i don't know what i'm looking at the design here yeah you see how they're nice and brown toasted there and then we're putting that into the vinegar here. If you don't toast them well, there's too much moisture in there. The

24:06 vinegar has a hard time penetrating in, and you also want to cook out all the organic matter. If you don't, it really limits the shelf life. Look at him making a funnel. Smart Korean dude. And he always has gloves in his pocket. Mr. Lee really inspired me. I always have gloves in my pocket now, just like him. And then it starts dissolving and it's kind of fun to do in a tall jar like this. Hey, what's up? We got Alabama in the house. You got to go meet up with Bronson, bro. He knows what he's doing down there. Go find Bronson. Look at that. Look at it just take off,

24:44 start to go in. When you've toasted it properly, you will have such a wild reaction like this. So if you don't toast it, you won't get a reaction like this. And your solution will also smell kind of funky afterward, like it's rotting. Because it is, because you didn't get the organic matter out. So toasting is pretty darn essential there. Do I know about JADAM's new JMS insecticide? I know about JADAM, and I know about what they're doing. But do I know about their new one? I don't know. How new? I mean, this stuff is ancient. So, um, let me know. Enlighten me, man.

25:25 Got it. Uh, Cecily got another 40 kilos, uh, going to do so going to level it down. Yep. Good idea. Cecily. Yeah. Look at Dr. Park. Pump it up, bro. Pump it up. What's happening. The, um, the CO2 is coming out of there and it's leaving the calcium because it's calcium carbonate. It's reacting with the vinegar. He's pouring a little bit more in. So you don't want to pour it all in at once because it'll over bubble. But if you pour it in stepwise and in that fashion, then it won't over bubble. So we can listen to them,

26:11 hear what they're saying a little bit, I guess. So, you know, like a lot of females, they have osteoporosis, the bone is weak, and they need more calcium. And this will be the very good calcium. You buy from the store with a tablet, they do not absorb in the intestine. But this one is water-soluble calcium, so this is really good calcium. However, you have to be careful, Because if you take too much calcium, you can make a stone. So you got to be very little bit.

26:54 So best way to do is when you make a, you know, the food, some side dish or the celery or some time, then you can just put a little bit, just sprinkle. And then, yeah, then that'll be safe dosage. So don't take too much. Although it's a good one, do not take too much. But this is a water soluble. That's a very important concept. So yeah, there you go. It's Dr. Park saying that. So good for if you get the osteoporosis, you know, drink the water-soluble calcium. Just a little bit, not too much. You don't want them

27:30 kidney stones, but just a little bit, man. So that's all, you know, that's how, how do I know all this stuff, man? I've spent enough time doing this with them, and it'll make sense too, when you start to think about it. So when the mother, the lady pregnant, usually two months, three months gestation, they have a morning sickness. This is, this along with the calcium phosphate, with the bone, then the morning sickness go away. so you're pregnant you got morning sickness there you go dr park master jo telling you

29:05 So when you have that 45 days old, if you give this calcium plus calcium phosphate bus bait together then they will have a very healthy the egg of pregnant so yeah you got to think about that you know having the 45 days when they start going starting to get laying eggs but that uh that egg laying chicken if you give this one about 45 days old then they can make the egg Egg laying long up here. Also helps the longevity apparently. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. So when you change over, then that's the time. So 45 days, 45 days, and 45 days,

The first time, the first time, the first time, the first time. the chicken started egg laying that's the time you give it once how much on one time also i give it if the eggs ever get soft so it's important during the changeover period to give it but then also if the eggs ever get soft give it again So when you have started egg laying every day, after for a while no more eggs come up, then that's the time you notice that they need this one again.

30:37 So yeah, he says if they're not laying, give them more calcium or calcium phosphate and they will start laying again. That's exactly it. And if they're laying too much, then you give them more fuel and it'll slow them down from laying. So you gotta just balance that out. But calcium, calfos, very important. Speaking Japanese, man.

33:00 about them in the real way. And then what did we do? We got into another solution. So what are we making here? We're gonna make some egg yolk oil. So all about chickens this time. So what's he doing? He is cracking the eggs and just getting the yolks, discarding the whites. They cook it, make it small as possible, cook it, cook it, make it as small as possible, and then keep burning it, keep heating it up. You heat it up until it starts smoking, you just burn the crap out of these eggs.

33:52 That stuff smells really bad. Watch out for the smoke. Do this outside. Then you push down. When it starts smoking, then you push down on this stuff and the oil will come out. You should watch this whole process. Use a wood stick. Don't use a plastic spatula. It'll burn. Wear a mask. It stank. This stuff is terrible. And you'll tilt it to the side like such. It'll turn into like kind of a puck.

And actually his story of when he got it was he took seeds that were, uh, he cooked,
