Kalo From Poisoned Ground, Broiler Costs, Plant Juice Mold
Drake retells the Let's Grow Hilo project: a roundup-poisoned traffic triangle in downtown Hilo brought back with wood chips, biochar, fish char, and IMO drenches, then planted with kalo, sweet potato, bananas, and sugarcane. The corms grew to the size of a human head, three per mound, and the harvest fed about 200 people at a street event.
He also announced a new RocketChat for Pure KNF Foundation members, with general, novice, expert, and office-hour channels, and reminded listeners the membership runs about $5 a month, or $60 a year.
Watching an old Master Cho video, Drake and guests discuss why raising broiler chickens rarely pencils out in Hawaiʻi — a whole Costco chicken sells cooked for about five dollars, undercutting home-raised birds — and how integrated animal farming routes chicken-pen waste to feed pigs. He also warns against leaning on dolomite lime too often; it jump-starts Hawaiʻi soil but should give way to microbes.
A viewer named John Snow asked about extracted plant juice that formed two inches of sugar at the bottom after three weeks, still bubbling with mold on top; Drake says over-sugaring the batch ties up the water molecules. He closes by flagging next week's return to an avian influenza question, where the point is fixing conditions, not just prescribing a cure.
Questions answered
- 11:22 How can members connect with each other and the foundation outside the livestream? — Drake set up a members-only RocketChat with general, novice, expert, and office-hour channels.
- 16:07 What does a Pure KNF Foundation membership cost and fund? — About $5 a month, or $60 a year, which pays for the videos, meetings, and chat community.
- 19:36 What was the Let's Grow Hilo project Mark and Drake talk about? — It restored a roundup-poisoned traffic triangle in Hilo using wood chips, biochar, fish char, and IMO, then planted kalo, sweet potato, and bananas.
- 23:50 How did the Let's Grow Hilo harvest turn out? — Corms grew as big as a human head, three per mound, plus large sweet potatoes, enough to feed about 200 people at a street festival.
- 27:43 What happened when someone tried to buy up the whole harvest? — An uncle bought all the kalo huli for ten cents each to resell to a commercial farm, which killed the community-sharing purpose of the project.
- 32:44 Is it a problem that the soil mix still had dolomite in it? — Dolomite lime is fine to jump-start Hawaiʻi soil but shouldn't be used all the time; the goal is to get microbes established instead.
- 48:14 Is raising broiler chickens with natural farming profitable in Hawaiʻi? — Drake ran the numbers and couldn't make it work — a whole Costco chicken sells cooked for about five dollars, undercutting home-raised broilers.
- 52:59 How does integrated animal farming work between chickens and pigs? — Waste from the chicken pen feeds the pigs, recycling the same nutrients from one animal to the next.
- 54:29 My extracted plant juice has two inches of sugar at the bottom after three weeks, still bubbling, with mold on top — what happened? — If you stirred in too much sugar and super-saturated the batch, the sugar ties up the water molecules instead of drawing out the juice properly.
- 1:04:09 How should farmers think about curing avian influenza in a flock? — Master Cho's approach looks at improving conditions first rather than just prescribing a treatment; Drake plans to pick this back up next week.

1:30 The natural farming, Korean natural farming podcast for September 7th, 2025. Thanks for being here. Thanks for being part of the Korean natural farming community around the world. Being here on YouTube, 9am. Awesome view. Unfortunately today, I forgot my phone. Well, not that I don't have any higher wisdom, but I don't have any to read from the app that I usually use to read a book. It seems to have pretty good wisdom that I almost always need every Sunday and or every day of my life because I know higher wisdom.
2:11 But today, the lesson, I guess, is to bring all the stuff to the office that you're going to need for that day. Always the good fun of running a live show. And I realized that 30 seconds ago, I think I can run back to my back over here. The amount of time I need to start on time. And so what's more important, starting on time or being prepared? I don't know. Probably just starting on time. But in other, you know, so we got some good people in the house. It's good to see you here. Gathering together, I guess, is, you know, improve yourself into that, which you need to be. And others will gather.
2:58 I guess we'll just go with that one today. And so, yeah, good to see you folks here. We got Mark coming in somewhere. I know he's always... Gypsy man out there traveling. I was just talking about Mark last night. I was talking about Goal 4-2 and how much opposition there was to going in to blow up Iraq and Afghanistan. But that really, at the time, I was hoodwinked. I was too young to be able to discern that. And I believed the propaganda. And I thought that, you know, I believed the news.
3:38 And the propaganda that was subjected upon me not realizing that news was owned by the people that create war. And I realized that Mark, at that time, knew enough he was part of Veterans for Peace and was able to put a peace sign into, I think, the ellipsis in Washington, D.C. as a form of protest. And that really inspired me because I was talking about, you know, Gaza and what's happening there. And, you know, people today just don't even seem to care.
4:10 Like, my dad was showing me this CBS News clip of where there are just, you know, a million people in Gaza City and they're just leveling it and genociding these folks. And I was like, that's absolutely crazy. That's, you know, like, it's just killing women, children, babies, just, you know, going through, bulldozing their houses, bombing them. And they're basically trapped on all sides and the ocean is out there and they're just starving them to death and blowing them up. And I was just like, that is atrocious stuff happening there. And he was like, yeah, well, no one's really protesting.
4:44 And I'm like, well, you know, I've been there, right? And go for, to Bush Jr., his war in the Middle East. And I was hoodwinked and I was, you know, totally on the propaganda train and thought to myself, oh, yeah, like we should go blow those people up because they, you know, I don't know. I mean, Bush knocked down the towers, right? Let's all be honest. And they propagandized me into thinking that was a good idea. And so today I think people are still under that illusion.
5:15 So anyway, I just, thanks Mark for being an inspiration in my life for peace and realizing that, you know, even in the past that we've done things, we can always reform our spirits today and choose peace. And I think that's why I do natural farming, because I think it's really the answer to be peaceful is to, you know, if we're growing food and we become sovereign, then when a state tries to attack other people, we don't have to participate and we can, you know, they can come, they can bomb us, but we can feed ourselves and we can be independent. And I don't have to rely on that.
5:56 So anyway, I'm really, you know, without higher wisdom, look what you end up getting into. But yeah, I really appreciate that and the peace. And, you know, so boycott, you know, boycott the United States war machine as much as you can, even though it probably is going to lead to a harder life in America. At least it'll lead to a more peaceful life in the world of not genociding, openly genociding about a million people, which is just wild. What did they do? Like, what did they do?
6:34 You know, like, I mean, you could look at, you know, like, like if imagine they're just bombing the people in my city. It's like, yeah, maybe some leaders did this stuff and some folks, but like, what did I do? You know, most people, in fact, almost all people are peaceful. And, um, but learning natural farming, learning those things, it's, it's good. Um, anyway, uh, appreciate you guys. Um, you know, thanks for being here.
7:00 I don't mean to like derail this whole thing into like anti-war propaganda, but I think that, um, you know, learning natural farming enables you to, um, it's the most effective, um, way to protest is actually, you know, growing your own food, disengaging from systems of dependence where you have to then submit, um, to supply the war machine. Um, and for your own survival. If you can survive on your own growing food, teaching people how to grow food, making peace, having abundance. I think it's, um, it is the most effective way to protest is becoming sovereign yourself.
7:43 Um, and then, um, in other news, in other news, uh, natural farming stuff, I've, I've been kind of getting my, um, you know, I've been here persistent doing this for years now, office hours. I appreciate you guys tuning in because it's, that's, that's why I'm here to do it, you know, and also Master Cho. Um, and the Pure KNF Foundation helping this and the people that help fund the Pure KNF Foundation, the members, the donors, people that help this show happen and bring Master Cho's methods to the world. Um, twice this week, um, I was stopped. Um, I, I, I, I don't really go into town much.
8:24 I, I realized, um, and I was in, I was in town fueling up at the gas station and somebody was like, hey, are you, are you Eric? And I was like, yeah, most people don't call me that, but yeah, sure. And he was like, yeah, about 2015, I was learning natural farming from you and, uh, really glad about that and doing regenerative ag. And, um, and, uh, you know, so, so that was inspiring. It was, you know, somebody recognized me for what I've been doing and I was like, wow. And then I think a couple of days ago, maybe it was, must've been Friday.
9:02 Um, I went down, I've been cleaning out a bunch of stuff and had a couple, like a whole truck float of, um, of just shit, plastic shit that I needed to get rid of. Cause it's amazing how much plastic shit you accumulate in your life. And especially if you, and just cleaning things out. And I was like getting rid of this shit and, um, burying it in Kona, which isn't really getting rid of it.
9:28 It's kind of, it's funny, the paradox we live in of like making it someone else's problem to burying a giant hole because it was shit that, you know, fucking old buckets and stuff that the sun just cracked, you know, and just what am I going to, am I going to burn it? I don't know. I'm going to bury it. I don't know. So I, so I was taking it down to the transfer station to go have the County bury it in Kona, the other side of the Island, you know, 80 miles from here. And, um, and another guy, Jeff was there and he was like, Hey, are you Eric?
10:04 And I was like, yeah, most, most people don't call me that, but yeah, he's like, Oh yeah. Yeah. I saw you on natural farming. And so I don't know if he's here today. I told him, you know, I do YouTube live 9am every morning, but I think it's, I think it's something that's coming to me. That's like a calling that I've put off for the past, I don't know, nine, nine years, 10 since 2018. I haven't been showing up here, right?
10:28 I've been doing this here, but I used to do a lot more organizing, a lot more things and, um, had different priorities shift in my life and thought I was going to do something else. And so I've been continuing to do this. Thanks to the pure K and F foundation, uh, you know, reorganized, got into like something, built something, you know, spent time with a few times with master Cho. Now that he's passed, God bless, rest, rest in peace. Um, thank you, master Cho. But, um, I think it's a calling that, uh, to get back to organize a little bit better.
10:57 So in, in the spirit of that, um, I, I have been trying to make myself slightly more available to the natural farming community. And what I mean by that is that, um, so part of the pure K and F foundation, um, I, I was like, you know, one thing we've always needed is connection with each other, not just through me, but through the foundation. So I installed this rocket chat the other day. Um, so we can communicate with each other and, um, believe it or not. Uh, Oh, stone Mason jumped in here too. Hey, both you guys. Cool. I didn't realize stone stone is in here too.
11:39 So, um, so if you're a member of the pure K and F foundation, you now have access to this, um, chat here. So not only just on Sunday being, being around, but there's also different rooms. And I think I got to create, I'm going to create a channel here, create a channel for, um, office hour, uh, um, chat here. And let's not make it private and let's create it. So then we have an office hour here. So what I, Hey, Hey, Hey, thank you, bird.
12:16 Um, so a way for not only us to like, you know, communicate through here, through the YouTube, which is great, but now we actually have a way to talk to each other. There's the general chat here. And I didn't realize stone Mason had jumped in. It's not goof. I don't know, for some reason, maybe it just didn't show that to me, but yeah, stone Mason and goof have jumped in. So now we have a way to chat with each other outside of this and, um, share. And it, you know, I'm going to limit it just to members.
12:48 I'm not going to open this up to the general public because you have to care enough to be a member of pure K and F foundation. And you know, this isn't free by the way. I mean, your membership pays for this, right? Like, and having a way for us to communicate with each other. But now it's like, cool. And I said here, you know, it looks like it's working for members. My goal is to have, you know, have this open on my computer and my house and be more available to the membership, you know, and just be like, okay, we can, we can chat. You can ask folks questions.
13:20 We, you know, I put in a novice chat and expert chat, a general and an office hour here and, and I get to know each other because we're, we're great, good people. Um, and so it's Ogen G Ogen G. Um, but, um, so getting to know each other and do those things. So a benefit for being a member of the pure K and F foundation and also a special shout out to Cheryl. I don't know if she's going to watch this, but she made a donation the other day. It's awesome. It's cool. Um, and I appreciate that because that helps put together things like this.
13:54 And so taking my time and when I get these messages where I'm like around town and people are like, don't I know you from natural farming? It's like, yeah, maybe it has to do with the orange hat and making myself, you know, the beard or whatever. I don't know, but people are like, yeah. So I think it's a sign, you know, I need to refocus my life, get reprioritized things and, um, feed this community because you showing up here, us being together. Like I said, it's sovereignty. It is these things like feeding ourselves, helping each other become more sovereign.
14:27 That is the, um, that's what we need to do. So, and, and, and thanks to super chats, like bird dropping the super chats here that also fuels this, right? That also fuels this. It's a community. It's an effort. And I, you know, you're being somebody that has a chance to be a leader. You watched the last couple episodes, master Cho talking about the people that were there at those specific events become his officers. Right. And, and he comes and pins the star on you, right? You're now his general to do these things. And I happen to be one of those like dozen folks that was there.
15:04 That's still continuing to carry the torch, continuing to go. And I'm trying to put this together to honor him, to honor myself. Right. Because what I know about this is like, this is life changing sovereignty. You know, bringing health to the earth. I mean, I'm, I'm moving my cows around and trying to regenerate this land and trying to figure out a pace that I can maintain. And, and do small things that make a huge difference. Like that 80, 20 rule of what, what, what is the 20% that I can do? That's going to make 80% of the difference.
15:39 And I think having a way for us to communicate with each other, you know, if, if I'm able to chat with you, we're able to spread more. Now we're networking. We're building mycelial connections through the internet, through the wifi, getting to know each other, having chats with each other, having the office hours. So, you know, I may, I may at a certain point here, um, stop reading the chat that's in the YouTube chat and just go to the office hour chat through here. And that way I can really tune to the membership, you know?
16:10 Um, and I don't know, I don't, I don't really want to put up like a wall that makes people can't do it. But I also, if you're tuned into this, like, why aren't you a member? Like, you know, let me know in the chat, why aren't you a member? Like, what is your barrier to, to entry? Like, you know, 60 bucks, which is $5 a month. Like, you think you got five bucks a month to do that? I mean, it's not, it costs money to do this stuff, right? To, to have servers, to connect people, to do things. But do you think it's worth five bucks to get together with a community?
16:42 And the people that are members write, write the benefits of why, you know, what you get. I mean, it's like, we put out videos, we have meetings, we have all these things, like we're connecting people and experts and like wonderful stuff's happening. So not that I want to, you know, take the whole time to make this an advertisement about Pure KNF Foundation, but I want to let you know, like what you get, what is it worth, right? And it's like, yeah, having a chat, connecting, building these things, getting sovereign, honoring
17:11 Master Cho, you know, we're the one organization that's really like doing stuff in his legacy and his honor. Um, so, you know, I can't afford a pinch of bananas, you know, yeah. So yeah, money, money might be a thing, you know, so maybe, I don't know, if money is an issue, I don't know, maybe, I don't know, but you know, these things aren't free either. So it's like, it's, it's a balancing act, right? To get it for you. And I think if, if things are free, then you just, you know, sometimes you don't value it the same way it's five bucks. Like, can you find five bucks?
17:47 Maybe, um, make some LAB, sell it to somebody, I like, like make a plant juice and I know, I know it costs money, but like you can make, I think $5 a month. I, you know, I don't, don't get me wrong. There's every level of everyone has different things, but, um, and maybe if you're out there and you got more money than that, maybe you want to sponsor someone else for the five bucks a month and help buy, buy someone a subscription or a membership to be part of this. I don't know. Right. Um, uh, so anyway, good, good folks in the house. It's good to see, um, Christophe. What's up from Belgium.
18:25 We got a goof, New York, stonemason from Indiana. Um, trembling Thomas from Florida. Oh my gosh. Cecily. What's up Western Australia. Um, yeah. I remember when they threw a shoe at Bush, one of the best moments of all time, although he, he avoided it. It would have been better if it just clocked him right in the head. Um, although that person probably would have then been, um, you know, um, um, yeah. Elliptical peace sign on the West lawn of the U S Capitol. Okay. The West lawn of the U S Capitol. Okay, cool. Cool. Well, thanks Mark. Thank you for clarifying that. Um, picture didn't happen.
19:15 Um, yeah. In the eighties is perfect time to learn. Okay. Yeah. Um, I'm a mess and I can't care. Yep. Okay. Okay. Okay. Let's grow. Hilo. Those were the days. Yeah. So if you're, you know, if you don't know what let's grow Hilo was, let's go natural farming boy.net. And, um, so I met Mark here doing, uh, application of KNF. And then is it, is it here? It's somewhere here. Um, I think it is. At least it was. Oh, um, yeah. So urban gardening example, which, uh, here we, we grew, let's grow Hilo.
20:04 So this, this, this, um, this here was a roundup pesticided, um, uh, this triangle in the middle of roads. And it looked like this when we first started. So it was just dead. Excuse me. It was just dead, dead, dead, dead ground. And it's this triangle in the middle of Hilo. Um, really, really interesting piece of land. Awesome place. And it was completely just so roundup. It was only growing moss. So we brought down some wood chips and I don't have a picture before the wood chips because we brought down the wood chips to get it kind of get the biology to go.
20:48 And this, this, we had already planted a banana. There's this tea leaf was already there for, uh, I think a little bit longer. I think Chico put that tea leaf in there. And, um, we put in these bananas and then back in the back, some sweet potato and kalo. And so this is what it looked like, um, as we started to do it. So, so we built these mounds here, planted kalo inside. I think there's four mounds in the back. With the kalo, we put in some, uh, wood chips. Then my friend Kapila was bringing down the coconut waste. There's my ex-dog, my past dog, Aloha. What a sweet healer. What a sweet pup.
21:29 That was, oh, she's such a good girl. Um, and, um, we started to inoculate this with, um, biochar, a little bit of fish char and IMOs. And, um, I came down about once a week and I would water all the maintenance solution in. And took what was moss, would only facilitate moss. So a little bit of organic matter on the ground. And we were able to plant all these things. And then in the front, we planted, I think, six more kalo holes. And, um, and then as it grows here, you know, I mean, look at this from, from nothing, from, from poisoned ground.
22:07 And then the sweet potato, we're, we're putting the pits, the place we dug out, put over here, we put sweet potatoes in these pits. And then we'd kind of, uh, throw more organic matter on top of these sweet potatoes. But there's also some sugarcane, papayas, pea leaf. Um, and this grew. And then September 13th, you know, the, the coconut husk kind of drying out, but keeping the moisture in there. The sweet potato starting to spread to be a really good ground cover. The kalo just starting to kick butt. The bananas growing, the sugarcane, all these companion plants coming up September 13th.
22:45 October 14th, a month later, even more of it growing. You know, it's basically the IMOs and things are self-sufficient. The papayas kicking butt coming up here. Very little weed pressure because we had, um, so much mulch and it was so dead before. Um, and then here we are harvesting this. Uh, we had pulled all the kalo, most of the kalo out. Like these mounds have been harvested. And so the kalo grows up, starts to shrink down. Here we are harvesting. There's Kapila. Kapila. He brought all the, um, all the coconut mulch for the plan. And, uh, Sam also helped to work with, um, Let's Grow Hilo.
23:26 And we started to plant elsewhere in Hilo besides just the, um, besides just this triangle. And then this was the bounty of the harvest that we were able to get. All this kalo, these were the small ones left over. There were huge corms. I don't know if you can, but if you can see these kalos, they were huge. Like size of your head type of thing that we grew. And each, each mound had, uh, three of those in there. Plus all the small, um, huli that we, we also took the, um, or, you know, the ojas. Took the, uh, kalo off them as well. And huge sweet potatoes grown right there.
24:02 Um, and so this, this was what we started with. Some biochar. We did use biochar. This was a bit of fish, uh, fish waste. And we did throw some dolomite. Not gonna lie. We did throw some dolomite. And there were also a couple bags of IMO that, um, Zach's about this big of IMO that were dropped on the top. Um, I don't think the IMO made it. But here's Kapila out there working. We, I guess we had some pineapples too. I didn't, I didn't see those. And this was the initial day of, um, getting out there planting that. My friend Zach came down, uh, uh, Chico and, um, shoot.
24:37 Uh, I shouldn't remember her name. I forget it. Oh, it's been so long. This was like 2011. We planted this. This was the, we dug these mounds. So we basically dug these pits to make these mounds and then planted the kalo inside of those. And then we put the sweet potatoes in these, in these pits we had created. Um, and here's Chico. I think he's spreading the IMOs here. You know, you can see the IMO being dusted on top of the mounds. So he put the microbes down on top of the mounds. Here's putting the maintenance solution down on top of that.
25:10 After, after he had spread the IMOs, she's watering it in, doing the soil foundation treatment. Um, and yeah, that was the IMO, IMO Lyser we had, we had, um, used. And then, um, here's the second day we went down there. I think this, we're doing the front. Here's my friend, uh, Matt and his brother Ryan. This guy's now a pilot for Hawaiian Airlines. So if you are cruising between the islands, there is a chance that this guy is your pilot. Um, amazing. Cool dude. Uh, Chico, nice back brace, Chico. But planting these hoolies out here. And even my sister got down on the project.
25:49 She, she's a nurse. She doesn't necessarily know much about growing food, but she came down to help planting these hoolies. We planted three per mound after, after mulching them. Um, here's me standing next to there. Look at that. I was barely even a beard back then. Oh my gosh. Barely a beard. I was just becoming a, um, real man. But, uh, right in this, you know, right in the center of the road, you know, this road comes down, splits around this. And, uh, and here, here we are on harvest day, the beard, obviously the beard grew a bit between planting to harvest.
26:24 Um, but look at those collos, you know, size of my head. Right. Um, and this grew and it, and I don't even think it was fully mature. Like it was starting to mature, but we're like, we're going to have a festival and we're going to eat this. And this was the hoolies we were able to harvest out of here. And, um, look at the, look at the size of these hoolies. Like this is the, you know, the hoolie that we cut off here. And look at these quorums. I mean, and so we were able to, you know, from this small project, we were able to feed like 200 people right on the streets of Hilo.
26:55 And, um, be able to harvest this and put it out there. And then here was the callo cooked up, the sweet potatoes cooked up. And we had, we took a Mamo street right, right, um, right near the surplus store and blocked off the street and had a whole little event. And unfortunately one uncle came and bought all the hoolie for 10 cents each. And I was like, you can't buy them all. Like we should have planted them out around town better. I almost scrapped the guy. I was about to punch him in the face. And then uncle Craig that owns Hawaiian forest was like, bro, chill out. And he gave me a shirt.
27:31 Um, it said, uh, sustainability, sustainability. Um, and cause I was just wearing a dirty shirt. Cause I'd worked all day out here to harvest and then we got it cooked. And then I was just like, bro, I was so, and then he bought all the hoolie and took it to go to a commercial farm someplace and took all the hoolie, like hundreds that we had, bought them all for 10 cents each. And I was going to scrap that guy. I should have scrapped that guy. I should have punched him straight in the face. And it's been like, no, cause I was going to buy it all back.
28:01 It was like 20 bucks or something for all of them. And I was like, bro, I'm going to buy this back. And he was like, no. And I was like, bro, you, you know, and uncle Craig came over. He's like, bro, chill out. I was like, fuck, I should have fucked. I should have just trounced that uncle right there and just, just floored him down and be like, no, bro. And it mulched him right into the garden. What a fucking turd bag. Anyway, I can't have anger on certain things. I, we, we did such great things. And this was out here of like, but it, but it basically killed the project, right?
28:31 Cause all these Huli then went to some farmer out in the field that was going to make commercial off this, where this was a voluntary, like for everybody on the streets, a Hilo type project and making the thing better. So beware of corporate interests coming in to ruin your voluntary project and working, you know, so hard to grow all this, do all this, change lives, do things. It was great. It was great. But it's funny when I think of that stuff, I'm still angry at that uncle. So it's crazy how you can carry stuff so long with you.
29:00 It's like the, the, the Buddhist guy helps a woman across the street and he's like, then they get to the monastery 10 miles later. So how could you pick her up? He's like, yo, I carried her across the street. You carried her this whole way. I'm still carrying that kind of shit. Oh, forgiveness, life, all these things. But the thing is this here with this, this kind of propaganda, this type of inspiration, this type of stuff, that's what I'm here. And this is how Mark and I met each other, you know, to do these things. And, you know, so that was a good thing. So what's come of it?
29:33 You know, good natural farming things, good things like this, where you literally can go, you know, in Hawaii, it's a little bit easier to plant things in the middle of the street that last all year. But a few people that came down that volunteered, that helped out, and we shifted the whole purpose and the whole thing where this was just round up poison. And we made this into the most abundant food forest right in the middle of town, you know, that kind of stuff. So it's the good I got to focus on. It's the, you know, there's, there's, it's, it's yin yang. There's good.
30:03 There's, you know, in all of it. Right. So, um, but anyway, that's when, when Mark talks about Let's Grow Hilo, where I met him, it's that project. And it's that thing where it showed how natural farming could come from nothing, you know, take poison land and regenerate it and grow just amazing abundance. And that's what is the sovereignty that I talk about. You know, if you got a small bit of land, you got some little bit of know-how, you do a few things that you can ferment weeds, essentially, you know, use the Madag, ultra cheap stuff, ferment that.
30:32 And now you can create fertility and abundance. And that's, that's sovereignty, right? Starting with nothing and building everything, feeding yourself, getting off these systems, you know, this, this is the goodness. So if you don't know what he's talking about, uh, that's, that's where, you know, that's what Let's Grow Hilo is. And that's only a sliver of it, right? We, we also planted downtown Hilo, like, like Kamehameh Avenue. Um, don't know if I got any pictures of that, but, um. But yeah, so, um, anyway. Uh, I do, I do have pictures. I just sent it out online. Um, so anyway, so.
31:16 Yeah, getting to chat with us is priceless. I'll try and be in there a bunch because, you know, it, the community, you know, it's like, it's one of those things of like, who do I want to hang out with all week? You guys, right? You gals, uh, the fun guys, the fun gals, the members of the Pure KNF. The people that are focused on doing what Master Cho wants us to do because I think he, you know, it's his dream to see all this happen. So, um. Um. So, yeah, taking those worm, you know, take worm castings, put them out, do those things. Um.
31:50 Uh, $5 a month subscription is easier to manage than the annual payments. I also work during the meetings. Yeah. Um. Yep. Uh. Okay. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. So, yeah, you do have to have $60 at once, but, um, I guess, but it's $5 a month if you think of it. So just, if you can't afford it now, just start putting $5 in a, um, a shoebox. And then in 12, 12 months, you will have $60. And so you can join next year. Um, that's also will improve your discipline and ability to manage money, which is also good things.
32:37 Um, discipline. Can't get through life without discipline. Um. Um. Still some dolomite shame there. What's the deal? Well, uh, dolomite, dolomite makes, uh, rich fathers but poor sons. It's not, it's not a bad thing. You don't, you just don't want to be liming your soil all the time. Uh, you want to use it when, when you need it. It's really good in Hawaii to get things started, but you don't want to be using it all the time. You want to get the microbes in there. It's not a bunch of shame on it right now. Um. Yeah. Um. Yeah. Cool.
33:18 So, um, other, other bits of things, uh, do I want to, uh, you know that, uh, it is wild. Um, so, I generated this image the other day. So, this was an image prompt where I uploaded this image here. Oh, so let me slide this over. In case you don't know, AI, man, AI is getting wild. Uh, you know, I was talking about, they have AI, artificial intelligence, but what they really need is natural wisdom. Um, so I took this prompt of this plate lunch and I was like, give me an attractive woman holding this with a coconut tree and a food truck in the background. It generated this.
33:56 But the scary part is not this. The scary part is this. Where I, I took it and I had it generate this and I was like, make this into a movie. And this is what it picked, clipped out. So, you know, my, I, I, I straddle the world between many things, uh, you know, but the AI, it took an image generated that where she said, come get your tacos, they're delicious. And we have this mariachi band in the back to play music.
34:43 That was just from a prompt where I said, um, the band is playing as she offers us this food to eat from that image. And that's what it generated. So, if you haven't played a video in these things, they're wild. You can, I can generate two videos a day, apparently, uh, for 20 bucks a month, which is just wild. That, that, you know, that computing power and AI is going to suck up all the power.
35:05 And so all the more reason to start to learn natural farming now to plant your food, because people think AI is going to bring abundance and all this, like, what are we going to do when we don't have jobs and AI will do everything. You know what you're going to be doing is mining energy for the AI to suck up, to make videos like this. And you know what you're going to be, you know, in, in feeding yourself, like the robots are not going to just feed you to be a parasite, to eat most of the energy. They're going to take all the energy and put it into AI.
35:35 Just like, you know, and they're only going to feed you enough. Like we feed livestock to benefit them, not to benefit you. Uh, and there's no way to align the AI to avoid that because it just, you know, it is. So the fact that we're going to, you know, pretty much destroy the world going this way, um, so yeah, slave world, we're going to be like the matrix. We're just going to be batteries for the artificial intelligence. Um, if, if we're not already in the simulation, which is great, you know, the I Ching is all aligned with that. But anyway, just, you know, a little update.
36:06 If you haven't done things, you know, I can take a picture of Master Cho and have him like, let's, in fact, let's, let's, um, let's, let's see here. Do I have, yeah. Okay. So let's, let's just, um, let's, let's live play with this right now. Let me do a new chat here and let me go to VO because I can create a video. So what I'm going to do here is I'm going to add a photo. Let me, let me, I'll bring this over like this. I'm going to add a photo here. Let's grab, let's grab this classic picture and let's drop this in. Is it going to, um, is it going to let me add a photo to this?
36:50 Um, add a photo. Let's see. Let me refresh this and see. Uh, yeah. Try now. Okay. So it's going to, is it going to let me add a photo to this? Let's see. Hang on. Hang on. Let's see. Is there a photo? Is there, I want to use this one. Come on. Let me drop it in there. Oh, it's not going to, it's not going to do it. Oh, September 7th at 10. Oh, I can't even generate a video right now. Nevermind. That's why it's not going to let me do it. Cause I can't generate a video until 10 o'clock tonight. Okay. Well, anyway, we'll do that next week. Um, yeah. Um, so, all right.
37:32 Well, anyway, let's, uh, if there's no other questions and stuff, let's jump into chilling with Master Cho because, you know, all that really of all this stuff, it gives me, uh, hope and love and joy to be able to watch Master Cho and sitting here with you guys watching this, you know, going through the videos to do these things. It's like I'm back there in 2017. Um, yeah, you're going to take both pills. I have the purple one. Um, so, um, but this, this year is a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little
38:18 year. You know, this is, this is a real video, real video that I shot in 2017 and as soon as, but only 947 views, but seven years ago, but pretty soon they will spoof these timestamps here, right? I'm pretty sure I'm already subscribed to channels that are completely AI generated. I don't know exactly how they're doing it because they're generating longer things, but somehow they have these subscriptions where like, I just watch entire videos that are AI generated and I'm pretty sure eventually my entire YouTube stream will just be AI generated. You won't even be able to do it.
38:51 And someone will probably voice clone me and then use it to do propaganda. That's going to tell you to stop farming and bomb Gaza. It's like, what? How did that happen? And you don't even know because you're still think you're tuned into my channel. So if you ever hear me say that, uh, well, I mean, I do make jokes about like, I'll save you thousands of dollars by being a farm consultant by saying don't farm because it is, it's, it's, it's probably the most expensive hobby you can have is farming. Um, I mean, natural fire, you can do it cheap, right?
39:21 There are ways to do it cheap, but literally like if you want to, if you want to break your body and spend thousands of dollars, do farming. Although natural farming, natural farming is slightly better, right? And there are ways to do it. The Madag, amazing tech and, um, you know, there, there are ways to do these things. So don't, don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to like discourage you from it, but I am trying to be just real in terms of it is, um, you know, you're definitely going to learn a lot and you're going to be a wise person.
39:53 You're going to be one of those people at the end of your life. That's like wise versus the rest of the people are just like eating empty calories and they can't even think they're going to be like, welcome to Costco. I love you. Um, but anyway, um, let's get more positive. This is what happens when I don't read the I Ching. I get in these states where I'm like, oh, go down these negative rabbit holes. And it's like, no, life's good. Life's, you know, this simulation is great. In fact, so let's go, let's just jump in with Master Chow. Maybe that will get us back on. Try Gemini in Chrome.
40:25 They're already suggesting I use the AI in my Chrome. And it's going to be like, try Gemini in your brain or what's left of it. Get an implant. Um, no. And in fact, it's like, remind me later. Got it. I'm going to click the X. Like, I don't want to try Gemini in Chrome. Why am I using Chrome in the first? Anyway, there's so many things. You got to pick your poisons, I guess. I don't know. I don't know. Let's, let's go to something that I know is pure, amazing, and awesome, which is chilling with Master Chow. Let's jump in.
41:00 When you try to eat the roiler chicken, and you talk about the kimchi, and there's that's a kimchi for the, uh, to the, uh, to the, uh, to the, uh, to the, uh, to the ! So if you want, I got, uh, chicken restaurant with this, and, uh, I'm gonna go with my wife. Gotta make a nice, uh, uh, chicken. If you want, I got chicken restaurant with this, and, uh, I'm gonna go with my wife. Gotta make a nice, uh, chicken. Uh, chicken restaurant with this. And, uh, I'm gonna go with my wife. Gotta make a nice, uh, chicken. Uh, chicken. Yeah. But when I was in Taiwan or Hawaii, I was in Japan.
41:43 I was in Japan. I was in Japan. I was in Japan. I was in Japan. I was in Japan. And, uh, Hawaii. And a lot of people try not to cook at home. They buy the food and then bring it, uh, eat, or even go to the restaurant and eat it. So if you go to Taiwan, uh, just, I was in Japan. And a lot of people try not to cook at home. They buy the food and then bring it, uh, eat, or even go to the restaurant and eat it. So if you go to Taiwan, uh, just, I was in Japan. And a lot of people try not to cook at home. They buy the food and then bring it, uh, eat, or even go to the restaurant and eat it.
42:07 So if you go to Taiwan, uh, just, I was in Japan. Just, I was in Japan. Just, I was in Japan. And a lot of people try not to cook at home. They buy the food and then buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food.
42:27 And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food and then buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food.
42:48 And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food. And they buy the food.
43:14 And they buy the food.
43:40 And they buy the food.
44:06 And they buy the food.
44:32 And they buy the food.
44:58 And they buy the food.
45:24 And they buy the food.
45:50 And they buy the food.
46:16 And they buy the food.
46:42 And they buy the food. Yeah, that is one of the slight advantages. Is we can do, you know, three to five seasons a year.
47:09 Three to five growing seasons. So Master Cho always talks about that. But, you know, and that is the advantage of being in the tropics. As you can crank things through. But also on my side, there's more rain. There's more washout of nutrients. There's all, you know, there's pros and there's cons to it all. A lot of grass grows easy. Which is why I'm doing cows. And supplementing those. You know, doing the right stuff. That's, you know, yeah. In Taiwan, you can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times.
47:42 You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times.
48:07 You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. You can do three times. I'm planning to get the recipe later on when you have a nice tasty broilers. Yeah. Master chose kimchi. Did anyone get that recipe? Did I video it? Is it out there? Does anyone know it? I don't know. Nobody from this trip ended up succeeding with broilers.
48:41 Joe and Steven tried. They killed most of them. I got home and I ran a spreadsheet and I was like, I can't afford to do this. My friends in Kau are doing broilers and they're making decent money off that, but they're not using the natural farming stuff. I don't know why. Actually, because, well, because, well, yeah, they don't know about it enough to put it into practice and save money on that. But yeah. I don't know. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I also think, I don't know how well they run good spreadsheets. I mean, I'm sure they do, but it's like, you got to really look.
49:22 And when you, if you're willing to pay yourself like $2 an hour, it's like, then go ahead and do broilers. In Hawaii, it's just, it's just so hard. And like, or you're going to have customers that can afford it. It's so hard to compete against a $5 cooked Costco chicken that's cooked for five bucks, the entire chicken, where you got to sell it for like five bucks a pound frozen or uncooked. Right? I suppose it's possible. They are doing it. So it's maybe it's just me and my lack of ambition, but you know, there's an, I already do enough.
49:54 So after, after you eat the liquid part, the liquid part, basically, you can have a, so get a noodle. I know the volume's only coming through partially for you. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through.
50:34 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's coming through.
50:48 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through.
51:02 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through.
51:16 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through.
51:31 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through.
51:46 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through.
52:00 I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. I know the volume's only coming through. When you fill this,
52:15 the volume's only coming through. Then the volume's only coming through. Then the volume's only coming through. And then the volume's only coming through. And then the volume's only coming through. So yeah, again that's integrated animal farming. One animal feeds the next. You can actually take the waste from the chicken pen. And start to feed the pig. And then now you're recycling those nutrients around and around and around. So yeah, more seawater. Yeah, yeah.
53:00 Yeah, restoring natural farming. Like I showed you, that dead soil earlier in the Let's Grow Hilo. The most dead soil can come back to life with natural farming. And also, one of the good things about that project was that it was just a, you know, what is that like 50 by 50 by 20 triangle. And it's a lot easier to focus on a small area and make it good. Versus focusing on a huge area and trying to make it great. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So.

You just need to improve the conditions. No, no, no. But that, that is, you know, he's saying that's the true cause here. I'm going to mark this down to 23. We'll come back to this. We'll start it. We'll hopefully start back with this avian influenza stuff and how to cure it. Cure, cure, cure. I don't know if you can say that. Allegedly cure it. We'll say that.
