Fish Waste for FAA, IMO3 Rain Protection, Chick Feeder Setup

Drake gets his fish waste from Ellie Girl Fishing in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. For years he hauled off about ten 30 to 40 gallon barrels of fish waste a week. He mixed it with indigenous microorganisms, lactobacillus, and wood chips. He could not afford enough sugar to turn all of it into fish amino acid, so instead he let the microbes and wood chips control the carbon to nitrogen ratio and keep the smell down.

A viewer asked about starting an IMO3 pile with a damaged greenhouse roof. Drake said throw a tarp over it, even a cheap blue one, so rain does not ruin the pile. He also talked about saving used chicken feed bags to staple into a waterproof lean-to roof for future IMO huts.

Drake is cutting a documentary from a two hour interview with Dr. Hoon Park, a Hilo pediatrician and early Korean Natural Farming adopter. It covers Park's discovery of natural farming, attending Master Cho's seminar, and bringing KNF to Hawaiʻi. Drake is posting numbered topic clips to the YouTube community tab so viewers can vote on what makes the final cut.

On the farm tour, Drake showed the chicken pen and repeated Master Cho's advice to block evening sunlight so chickens go back inside the coop instead of bedding down outside. He also showed chick feeders placed at the edge of the pen so chicks can run freely between the house and water instead of tripping over blocked paths.
