BRV Vinegar, LAB Brewing Ratios, and Bamboo-Fed Baby Chicks
Drake opens on vinegar: how long fruit pulp can ferment before straining (pour off once pH drops below 2.4), and how brown rice vinegar (BRV) and fruit vinegars like strawberry help tree flexibility, calcium absorption, and flip the body's pH from acidic to alkaline. He gives LAB brewing ratios for a 55-gallon batch — roughly equal parts molasses to LAB, brewed 48 to 72 hours, aerating 15 minutes on and 45 off. Sourdough starter and even kombucha can source lactobacillus, and LAB-inoculated clay balls can clean out a muddy pond. Horsetail cut in spring makes a silica-rich FPJ.
The rest of the episode revisits Master Cho's archival chicken-raising footage. Topics covered: sizing the pen and feeders to the birds' growth stage, a feed conversion ratio of about 100 grams feed to 25 grams weight gain, how to cut and massage bamboo leaf (split vertically like a banana peel, then crosswise) so chicks can digest it, feeding dry uncooked brown rice from day 0 to 21 to stretch their intestines, and giving bamboo leaf for only five minutes a day so chicks treat it as a treat. Reed, sugar cane leaf, and hemp leaf all work as bamboo substitutes.
Drake closes with two of Master Cho's non-core solutions: water-soluble phosphoric acid, made by burning sesame stems to charcoal and soaking 1-2 kilos in 100 liters of water for about seven days, then diluting 1:1000; and water-soluble potassium, made the same way but with coarsely ground tobacco stems instead of charcoal.
Questions answered
- 8:02 How long can fruit pulp sit in vinegar before straining it off? — Pour it off once the pH drops below 2.4 and isolate just the vinegar.
- 11:07 What does vinegar (BRV) do for trees and crops? — It boosts flexibility in trees prone to snapping and increases their absorption of nutrients like calcium.
- 22:32 How long should you brew a 55-gallon batch of LAB tea? — Add roughly equal parts molasses to feed the bacteria and brew 48 to 72 hours, aerating 15 minutes every hour.
- 28:06 Can sourdough starter be used as a LAB source? — Yes, starchy water collects lactobacillus from the air, so sourdough LAB works fine too.
- 29:30 How do you clean a muddy pond with LAB? — Make LAB-inoculated clay balls or a solid bokashi and throw them in so they sink and remediate the muck from the bottom up.
- 30:15 When is the best time to make FPJ from horsetail for silica? — In spring, when the young tips are just coming up, though it still works later in summer.
- 32:33 How do you know when to size up a chicken pen? — Watch the chickens — when they're crowding and running into each other, give them more space, same as sizing clothes or a bed to a growing kid.
- 38:59 What's a good feed conversion ratio for young chicks? — About 100 grams of feed produces 25 grams of weight gain, roughly 25 percent.
- 44:07 What's the best way to cut bamboo leaf for chicks? — Split it vertically like peeling a banana, then cut the strips crosswise on a cutting board with a sharp knife.
- 48:28 Why feed brown rice to baby chicks? — Dry, uncooked brown rice swells with moisture in the gut and stretches their intestines so they can digest anything later in life.
- 54:09 What can substitute for bamboo leaf? — Reed, sugar cane leaves, or hemp leaves all work as substitutes.
- 1:01:11 How long should chicks get access to the bamboo leaf feed? — Only about five minutes, so it stays a rare, valued treat instead of something they take for granted.
- 1:02:03 How do you make water-soluble phosphoric acid? — Burn sesame stems to charcoal, bag it, and soak 1-2 kilos in 100 liters of water for about seven days, then dilute 1:1000.
- 1:06:32 How do you make water-soluble potassium? — Grind tobacco stems coarsely, bag 1-2 kilos, and soak in 100 liters of water to dissolve out the potassium.

1:00 I'm your host, Master Cho, and I'm brought to you by Pure KNF Foundation. So, if you're not a member, what you're doing? If you're into KNF, be a member. I'm part of the good things happening. So, welcome. It is July 27th, 2025, and I'm in the right place. If you're into regenerative agriculture, nine core solutions, making a difference in the world, spreading microbial love, living a soil-rich lifestyle. So, I've got some good folks here. Awesome. Good to see you. And I've got an hour you can ask any questions on Korean natural farming that I can answer.
1:46 I'm trying to find resources for you. And during that, we'll get into some inspiration by Master Cho, what he's doing, what he shared with us. At this point, it's all posthumous information, which is how he learned, by the way. He learned from dead people. Much like the guy in that movie where he's like, I see dead people. This guy's like, I learned from dead people. And their descendants and the people that passed on and the messages they passed through, that was his synergistic. Learned from three people, all dead. So, you know, learning from somebody who's passed on.
2:31 Rest in peace, Master Cho. God bless you. Thank you for your lessons and vision you passed to us. So, but let's, let's, let's start with a little bit of higher wisdom because it's always a good place to start. And today, it's always fun because it's not always like good higher wisdom. I mean, not that it's not good. Everything's good, depending on how you perceive it. But obstruction. So, surrounded by obstructions, one must first treat. Then seek direction of the sage. There is an old saying which fits this hexagram.
3:17 You are caught between a rock and a hard place. In other words, you are surrounded by obstructions. As much as you may blame others for the difficulty. In all likelihood, the true obstruction is in your own thinking. What it's called for now is retreat into self-examination and self-correction. Emotions of fear, desire, or anger may tempt you to take action now. But do not be seduced.
4:03 The presence of these strong feelings is proof that you are off balance and need to steady yourself. As long as you try to forcibly achieve results, rather than carefully following higher truth step by step, you will be obstructed from making personal progress. Whenever we indulge in judgments about others, we obstruct our own peace of mind and progress. We should choose instead to see the best in others. We obstruct our own peace of mind and allow them to come and go as they will.
4:57 Turn our energies inward towards self-improvement. Often the faults in our own thinking are only revealed with the aid of others. You would be wise now to seek the advice of a qualified counselor or a truth-minded friend. Retreat, self-examination, and self-correction will remove the obstructions that block your path now. Yep, yep, yep, yep. Cool. Always, you know, sometimes higher wisdom is that stuff you need to hear.
5:44 It's not like, you're doing great, keep going. It's more like, you probably could be doing a little better here. Probably. Probably all of us, I would imagine. Doing a little better. Doing better ourselves. Instead of blaming outside. Looking for politicians. Or events. Macro events. To blame for our state of being. And instead of just turn inward. Make our little home. Our gardens. Our life. That much better. And live in that state of peace. That only we ourselves can give to ourselves. It's called the present. Anyway.
6:30 Good fun. Got a lot of good folks here. I appreciate you, Cecily. Always one of the first folks in. Amazing. Rambo Possum. What's up? Seattle in the house. Got a bunch of friends visiting the Pacific Northwest right now. So, they're up in your hood. Mount Hood. I don't know. Anyway. So, that whole range up there. Maybe they're near you. Rainier. Um. Belgium in the house. What's up, Belgium? Yeah. Yeah, you. Um. And then Big Wes. What's up? He knows what's up. What it's all about. And. What's up, Mark, bro?
7:16 Yeah. Rumbling. The earth is alive. I don't forget. We're on a big microorganism. Living. Being. Nice up in Oregon. Everyone's up in the Pacific Northwest. Right? Yeah. Brookings. Don't know where that is. But hopefully it's good. And, uh. Fabrizio. Don't know where you're at. Where's Fabrizio from? Fabrizio. Up Amigo. It must be somewhere. Spanish speaking, I would imagine. I didn't know. Um. Oot and a boot. Classic Canadian things. You know. Um. Over the California line.
8:02 15 minutes north of the California-Oregon border on the coast. Oh. That sounds nice. Probably like Redwood territory. I don't know. Sounds. From Northern California. They bay. Cool. Cool. Like, uh. What is that? Like, uh. San Francisco. I don't know. The Bay. Bay area. Oakland. Yeah. How long can you leave fruit pulp in the vinegar? Only about a month old, but already sour. Strawberry. Um. Fruit pulp in vinegar. You know, I want to. You should probably pour it off when the pH goes below 2.4.
8:49 And just isolate just the vinegar. But the natural default state of the world is to turn into vinegar. You let things rot long enough. With aerobic action. With aerobic action. They will turn to vinegar. It is kind of the final bits of fermentation. I don't even know if that's possible to find, like. Yeah. Well. Vinegar. I don't know. Does vinegar stop fermentation? I don't know. Okay. Yeah. Anyway. I'm not going to look.
9:36 But yeah. Vinegar is kind of the. If things are aerobic. They'll most likely turn to vinegar. Acetic acid. Is kind of the end of the fermentation line. Even alcohol will turn to vinegar. Given exposure to air. Um. So it's kind of the end of the line. For everything. Oh cool. Yeah. Fabrizio. Up in there. The San Francisco fog, bruh. Cool. It's a nice area. My cousin lives up there. Okay. Good things. I don't know. He's actually a financial advisor. I'm not sure he's doing nice things. But he's cool. Um. Cool. 20 minutes from the Jedi. Smith.
10:21 National Park. Bro. That place is freaking epic. Talk about a good place to get IMOs from. Those ancient trees. With that ancient soil. Yeah. Yeah. Cool. Put 27 broilers in the freezer yesterday. Hmm. All insane. We got Maryland in the house. So we got some east coast folks too. We're global. It's cool. Awesome. Well. Yeah. So vinegar is always a good topic. You know. I just. For. Why not just read about this. We were. We were on vinegar. I know I talk about this sometimes a lot. A lot. A lot. How much do you hate Rome? A lot. Um. But. Let's see here. So vinegar.
11:07 Vinegar. Vinegar. You know. Um. Joe calls it brown rice vinegar. But making vinegar from strawberries. That sounds like a good idea. And um. Yeah. Talking about improving flexibility. Of your trees. So if you're dealing with trees that are snapping and breaking. Vinegar will help their flexibility. And increase their absorption ability. When natural farming materials are sprayed. Vinegar. Vinegar is one of the best. Things out there. Um. Ask. Oh GPT. Nah. I'm good. Ask Claude maybe. But um. Because it is used in water soluble. It maximizes the effect of calcium.
11:55 I don't know. This is kind of a weird translation note here. Um. And. Accelerates reproductive growth. In high concentration. So. Interesting. But there's way more to vinegar. You know. When I translated vinegar. I called it KNF cleanser. Such a weak. Translation of it. Because it is so much more. It's more like KNF miracles. You know. And all the solutions. When they get. When you translate them into how to use them. It's just like. KNF. Necessary. Base. That's what it should be. You know. Because. You can think of it as a cleanser. But.
12:40 Um. But really. It is. Um. Like. Let's look up some more. Um. Things. Characteristics of vinegar here. It. Uh. Uh. It. It affects liver cells. And supports them for sterilization. Deeresis. Deeresis. Synthesis. And work to prevent. And cure. Various diseases. Which you can't really say cure various diseases. So just forget that was put there. Um. We don't want the. FDA. Coming after us. For telling you. Just to drink vinegar. Instead of other things. And it'll probably work just as well. That would be very heretical. Allegedly. Um. Yeah. So. But your liver. You care about your liver.
13:25 Which is probably one of your most important things. I heard. You know. If you get. Uh. Stabbed or shot in the liver. You die like. Almost as quickly as getting stabbed or shot in the heart. Probably a pretty essential. Part of your body. Just saying. Um. And then. That it's weakly acidic as well. BRV is an acid. But when it's decomposed in the body. The remnants become alkali. And this is the most important. Is that it goes from being acidic. To being alkaline. Acidic. Alkaline. And it flip flops in the pH scale. And that radical pH. Which means that a bunch of hydrogen is moving. Most likely.
14:04 And. Because pH is parts hydrogen. Right. Something like that. I don't think it's that simple. But. Um. But. You know. In this. Um. So it. It affects how you. You're oxygenating. I think. Is what it does. I'm not sure the hydrogen. The oxygen does. It. It. I think it oxygenates the body. I'm not exactly sure. Um. Someone with a little bit more knowledge. Someone with a little bit more knowledge. Um. Would probably know better. But. It affects those things. I know that. I don't know how. And why. What. But it affects those things. And. Oxygen in the body is always good. And having a better pH.
14:36 Is always good. And so. Um. What do those things actually mean? I don't know. But. Um. But. Um. Taking in an acid. And flipping an alkali. I. I always think of it. Like. You know. Like. Imagine you had a magnet. Right. And it's like. Attracting. Like. North. Is attracting all these southern magnets to it. And you flip it to north. All those southern magnets would be pushed away all of a sudden. So. It's like. You know. Stuff gets stuck. And then you flip the polarity. And things release. Because. Um. Uh. pH. To me. When I conceive it. Is much like polarity. Like. You're either. Negative magnet.
15:15 Or a positive magnet. Even though. I don't think those are the ways they talk about things. But. That. You know. That's the. That's the way I conceive it in my head. So. Again. Vinegar. Amazing. You're making it. So. Having good stuff. Um. Yeah. And then. Cereals and fruits. Which produce vinegars. Are typically alkali. BRV. Anyway. Um. BRV itself is an acid. But it changes to a base. When it's absorbed by humans. Livestock. And crops. This again. This is the. The polarity flip. Like. I think they said acid alkali again. But now they're talking about acid and base. The base. Um.
16:01 Um. So. BRV functions to change the physical constitution from acidic to alkali. Which renews the body. Into a pure and healthy condition. Maybe we should call it the vinegar K&F. Society. Foundation. Because. It's a pure and healthy condition. For vinegar baby. Um. Um. BRV contains phytic acid. Helps neutralize poisons. So. If you're poisoned. We probably all are. Plastic. And. Whatever. Poisons we're just absorbing all the time. Uh. That's why to drink BRV. Whether you need brown rice vinegar. Banana vinegar. Strawberry vinegar. Any kind of vinegar you make.
16:46 Is probably just going to be just as well. Um. But it'll neutralize the poisons. And to sterilize. I don't know if that's. Not. Not you. Maybe not. Because it. It increases reproductive. But. Clean things out. I think was. Sanitized. I think is what they mean. To improve. Physical constitution. Which I can't highlight this role. For some reason. And. Effective in curing. Various diseases. Which again. You probably can't say. Right. That is probably. Allegedly. The wrong thing to say. But. You know. Your mileage may vary. Um. And so. Um. BRV has more. Amino acids. And organic acids.
17:27 Which are antidotal. Than any other food. So. If you're. You know. I don't know. Antidotal. What is antidotal? Anyone know? Antidotal? Can I. What does antidotal mean? Should we look that up? Antidotal. Antidotal? My web thing. Antidotal. I don't know what that word means. I got here. What does it mean? It means having. An antidote. Whoa. Of fitted to counteract. Effects of poison. Oh. That makes sense. I just didn't think of it that way. I never heard someone say. Antidotal. Counteracting the effects of poison. Makes sense. Makes sense. So. Um. So.
18:13 Apparently amino acids. And organic acids. Are antidotal. Than any other food. So. If you got poison. Antidote. Yeah. Big Wes is smart. He knows. Um. Therefore it's excellent. For decomposing lactic acid. Which prevents aging. So. If you are worried about aging. Which. Uh. We all seem to be doing it. You. I see you out there aging. Um. Go for some. Uh. BRV. Sounds like it's going to be a good thing. And it raises your calcium absorption ratio. Which is always good. Weak ass bones out there these days. If uh. Body fluid tends to be acidic. The body tries to neutralize it. When this happens.
18:56 The body needs calcium. So it's stealing it all from your bones. Because you're eating such an acidic diet. Making us weak. Difficult for the calcium to be absorbed. In an acidic condition. Combined with citric acid. And BRV. Calcium may be easily absorbed. So um. There you go. There you go. Anecdote. Yeah. Yeah. Anecdote. Um. Yeah. So. LAB. Plus some BRV. Probably both. And they seem to be somewhat. Uh. Counter. Contra. Counter. Counter. Counter. Counter. Counter. I don't know. But. Both of these. Probably going to do real good for you.
19:41 Probably going to cure a bunch of things. Which you can't say. So don't repeat that. And don't take it from me. I'm a doctor. Counter. Um. I have. Anadotes. Yeah. Yeah. Catalyst. Cool. So. Anyway. Um. There you go. Some BRV. So when. You know. When Kristoff's out there making some BRV. It is good stuff. He's making strawberry. So he's making SRV. Or. Wait. Brown rice. He's making SV. Strawberry vinegar. S-B-V.
20:26 Strawberry vinegar. Um. Antidote for bad anecdotes. There you go. Get some pros. Hey. Kristoff. Thanks. Thanks. Yeah. I hope your vinegar comes out good. I wish I had a whole bunch of strawberries to do that. And. If you were paying attention. Also. In the other episode. They were talking about making yeast. With strawberries. You make fermented plant juice. The um. Can of food recipe. With the strawberries. And. He considers that plant juice. Yeast. Which is great. Yeast. Combined with. Lactic acid bacteria. And seawater. Amazing. Gonna do amazing things for you. Your soil. Everything.
21:07 Peach vinegar. Yeah. I make a lot of banana vinegar. I haven't lately. But I should probably. I don't know. I've been. My bananas have been. I haven't been flying the drone. All kinds of stuff. Anyway. Lots of improvements in my own life. Yeah. Cool. Cool. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. All those good things. So. Yeah. So. Let's see. Should we. Go over here. And go over there. This. Where are we at? That tab. Too many tabs. Let's see. Where were we? We were at. 40, 20.
21:54 Oh. It looks like we're going to head into a talking bit of this. But let's finish up. We were just. We were just expanding the chicken pen out for these chickens. We just made some water for them. Been going through the KNF. Um. Livestock. Um. Chicken raising. Uh. Yeah. KNF livestock. But. Man. Did I learn a lot more about KNF in general. And I was already there. And I forgot all this stuff. But I re-remember it when I watch it. And I'm so glad that I was able to video these whole sessions. And um. Bring them here. Into you. Because. Otherwise this would have been just lost to time. Right?
22:28 This would have been just gone. These guys. This guy's filming. You know. But where is it? You know. Maybe you don't speak Taiwanese. So you can't find his videos. Other people filmed. But. They didn't share this. Um. But. I did. And here it is. We're better for it. I think. Um. Let's see. We got one question here. How much time would you brew at LABT? Making a huge 55 gallons of KNF protectors. On. Been using them at. 24 to 30 hours. Um. If I was. If I was going to brew a big thing of. Um. You were talking about like an aerobic brewing thing. Um. I first thought if I'd add.
23:13 A decent amount of molasses to it. Um. Because the molasses is going to give it food. So about equal parts of. However much. LAB you're adding. And. You could add it like at 1 to 200. To your tea. You could even go 1 to 20. But I don't think you really want to. Get 1 to 1 to 200. Probably be a good way to inoculate. With that liquid into there. And then. Put in. A. Same amount of molasses. And then brew that. And I would go. Probably. 48 hours. It. The lactic acid bacteria. To. To really have them. Grow. I mean. They don't even need. Um. Aerobic. You're probably going to be better off.
23:54 Growing it. Aerobic. Put a lid on it. And the thing. The thing about them. Is the interesting thing. Um. Facult. Facultative anaerobic. Um. Images. Is that. Um. Let's pull this up. That. Um. I think this image is going to show us. Yeah. So. The interesting thing about them. Is. Um. They're going to be. They're going to be more concentrated. In the very top. Right here. If you did in. Um. Like you're going to have them all throughout. But they're going to be more concentrated here. So. Stirring them around. They're going to grow best. In this upper top.
24:40 This isn't the best image. This. Better. Yeah. You see. You see this. Where they're kind of. More concentrated. On the very surface. Because they are. Sort of. Aerobic. But they're also. Anaerobic. And it says. Growth is best. Where most oxygen is present. But occurs throughout the tube. So. Maybe aerating it. I don't know. I. You know. It's. I've. I've heard. Different reports. Of like. You know. You make it anaerobic. Or aerobic. But. There's. Faculty. They're facultative anaerobes. So both aerobic. And anaerobic growth. Greater growth. In the presence of oxygen. Okay. So. It says.
25:18 Greater growth. Growth in the presence of oxygen. So. I'm probably. Um. Aerating it. Is going to work. Because. If. You know. You see where they're growing. Mostly on the top here. Where there's the most oxygen. If you got oxygen. In this whole thing. It would probably grow better. I guess. So. Um. But yeah. If you're specifically. Trying to grow. Lab. I would. I would put them in. A little bit stronger. What you're saying. Maintenance solution. Yeah. And then. Put maintenance solution. Into the pond. After you put those. Concentrated IMOs. In there. Um. But. I think. Like. 48 to 72 hours.
25:55 Might be. Even better. To get them. So you just. With enough food. And they're not going to run out of food. In that time period. So. Feeding them enough molasses. And usually. I. You know. I don't talk about molasses. And KNF. But to feed lactic acid bacteria. Specifically. Molasses will give them that. That extra energy. That they need. Um. So. Worth it. So. If I was going to make a lactic acid tea. I would definitely. But kind of. You know. It's not like you have to brew it constantly. It's like. If you can run it. For 15 minutes. Every hour. That. You know.
26:34 That's how you're going to get the most. Things happening. Because you kind of. Oxygenate it. For 15 minutes. And then you let it sit. For 45 minutes. And you oxygenate it. For 15 minutes. And you let it sit. For 45 minutes. Like. That's how to make. Like. Even better teas. Than just constantly. Brewing them. Where they're just like. Bubbling around. Trying to live in this. Constant. Disturbing. You know. It's like. Oxygenate it. And let it rest. Oxygenate it. Let it rest. Yeah. Maintenance solution. All that. All those things. Sound good for the pond. Yeah. But you could.
27:10 You could definitely go stronger. If you're trying to do. LAB specifically. Like. 1 to 200. Would be good. 50 meters of strawberries. Reality. Yes. That sounds sweet. I mean. That's going to be such a good thing. Strawberries are good ground cover. They spread nicely. They do good things. As long as you keep the powdery mildew down. Should be great. Um. Um. That sounds like a good mix. That you're doing with the 1 quart of LAB. 3 quarts of plant juice. And 55 gallons of water. You could. You could add another quart. Of molasses into that. Just to give it a little bit extra food.
27:53 Especially if you're going to then go. To 48 to 72 hours of brewing. Um. Which would be more ideal. I think. A little bit longer. Would be more ideal. And if you added that extra quart. Then I think you would. I mean. I think you'd have to really scope it to see. But I think you're going to get just a great thing. Would using sourdough start be a good idea for LABs? Probably. Probably. Um. Starchy water. Will collect lactobacillus out of the air. But even the. The LAB that are in your sourdough. Are probably going to be great. Good bacterias that you want. Um. Anything. You know.
28:32 I used to take kombucha. From the booch bar in town. And then just. Put it in a sprayer in my truck. And then just. Spray it on the road. You know. Everything. Even kombucha. Um. Keefers. All kinds of these great microbes. Things. I hope the strawberries will take over. Okay. So. Look back. Look at Mikey. So. Mikey. If you don't know Mikey. He's uh. He's on Oahu. And his passion. Well. I don't know if it's his passion. But he's been doing a chicken farm. I hope he's still doing it. He um. So look how enthralled he is. Looking at these chicks man. Yeah. It's just uh. Yeah. Yeah. That's awesome.
29:16 That's awesome. Stone mason. Yeah. Clearing your pond that way. The other thing to do is. Um. To make clay balls. If you have clay in your area. To um. Inoculate the clay balls. And then throw them into the pond. So they'll sink to the bottom. And they'll kind of get into the muck. And then they'll also help clean it from the bottom up too. So in addition to liquid. You can also like. You know. When you're making clay balls. You can mix the LAB. Into those. Or even if you make a solid Bokashi. You make kind of like a brand type of. Um. Thing. Clay balls. And throw those in there.
29:49 And be super effective. For remediating. Um. Gross water. Um. Clay balls. Awesome. Um. Um. I heard this spring. The maintenance formula. Out the window. On our way to Hilo. Uh. Inoculate the planet bro. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well. Rebel with a cause. Rebel. Lion. Um. Alright. Alright. Cool. Yeah. That's always fun. Being a. Being a KNF. Uh. Yeah.
30:34 Making FPJ out of horsetail. Would be a super good source of silica. Or shiz. That's uh. It's the Pacific Northwest. Uh. Secret right there. Anywhere horsetail grows. Do the uh. Make it. It's best when it's in spring. And it's these young tips coming up. You know. Right now. Summer. It's probably already kind of strung out. But you could still do it. But um. If you're able to grab the shoots of it. When it's first coming up. That's going to get you your most potent. Plant juice from the horsetail. But. Horsetail is always a good one. It's uh. It's an amazing plant. There's a lot of good things.
31:08 That silica. Is just great. Great. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. It's a lot of good. Oesha was able to speak Korean like this guy. And just talk straight to Master Cho. Ask him all the questions I really needed. Um. Be great. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리.
31:53 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. 50ml짜리. So I think this part Chris was asking him what's the days like when are you supposed to go from this size to that size but really you know a lot of the stuff in Korean natural farming is um suggestions and you know like when you read the book it's it's showing you like a way to do it but it's really about tuning your eyes in in your ears in your nose and your mouth you know like your your senses and um being able to see the chickens like why did he extend it out this extra bit it's because look at these chickens
32:38 they're now where they have space in between to walk to go they need to be tight like I was saying last week that they need to size properly but if you kept them in that same thing without giving them this extra three what is that three extra like I don't know nine square meters or six square meter is it three by three yeah anyway um without giving these extra I guess it's just two extra two square meters two square meters because um probably nine square feet um then they um they they would be running into each other and dying so it's so it's about looking and seeing
33:22 and it's like when should I move from this to that it's like you could read a book on when you're supposed to put your child into this this piece of clothing versus that piece of clothing based on their size you know and they're going to be in this 90th percentile of infants or whatever you could also just look at them and be like hmm that kid's going to need a bigger suit to wear and you can move them and the same thing with this of like you just realize that you should be thinking of the chickens like just like we do we don't give a baby a big human spoon we give them a baby spoon
33:55 right and you give a baby like a small plate a huge plate right and you know and so all these things of the chicken water size changing with their size and this pan size changing with their size you know little kid can be in a little bed but in a human you need a bigger bed you know um these ideas of sizing with them I think we largely just forget in agriculture we just say oh we're just gonna have it do this and we don't size the things for their size and that's what master cho is doing here is he's paying attention to the size of and the things of what they need and sizing them
34:35 appropriately so you could ask how many days do I do this what do I do this how many like you know and get some formula like thing or you could just realize you know okay I gotta size things up I gotta look I gotta observe I gotta open that loop and that's how master cho originally derived this stuff he didn't look in some book for some days he was just like this needs to be done and he's done it enough to observe patterns to write down how many days and that's what ended up being publications and or his experience he's sharing here but it's uh you know it's about just doing doing what's good
35:07 grok is the new master cho I don't know I haven't used grok uh very much um but I don't yeah I don't know we'll see how the AI does it transformers are interesting for this kind of knowledge was working on building a rag remote or uh augmented generation recovery augmented generation I don't know an AI that would actually listen to his data and pull out the relevant stuff but kind of pause that for a bit get on another project so anaerobic digestion provides more microbial variety than aerobic probably but are those the microbes
36:01 you're looking for um and yeah anaerobics anaerobes can break down things that's why anaerobic composting anaerobic digesting is very efficient versus aerobic um but is that the microbes you're looking for um they're actually usually prehistoric ones that we tend to be in a more aerobic world so even though anaerobes can do great things um mostly what's compatible with humans and mammals and things we are anaerobes so even if they're slower or less diverse they may they're probably more compatible I'm not sure you could you could we could go into that and see love to learn more about that
36:39 you know the the obstruction focusing on your own stuff definitely need to be doing more of that and been shifting over to cattle it's been great the grass is coming amazing by the way it is just you know I was a little bit down this winter because the grass slows down and I was like ah but this summer it is just like fabulous the amount of growth and things like it's I think that's the thing in Hawaii is that seasons don't change so radically so you kind of judge yourself at like different points of the year and you're like this isn't as good but the seasons do change enough to
37:24 really affect the grass growth and so as but this summer it's like it's three times as banging as it was last summer and hopefully next winter will be even better like the grass is coming amazing at your knowledge from the AI here um AI does great music stuff man it is uh yeah well I you know the AI has been really good it depends it's like a tool like cars are there to control you it's like well maybe if you use them properly they can be great and they can be a great aid to assisting what you're doing are they great you know I don't know it's just the technology man
38:04 up to you how you use it you know it's like uh saying guns kill people it's like no people kill people guns just help them do it more efficiently although with the last p320 thing maybe guns do just kill people sig sour looking at you buddy I have an m18 so I'm like oh god is it gonna go off and kill me I don't know I don't think so if I die randomly though you know what happened what did he say I don't know dr park's not even paying attention master cho just said some profound
38:59 stuff but dr park is enthralled by this baby chick and chris who asked a question is now talking about the baby chicks he asked the question he's not even listening how rude so right now they grow if you give 100 grams now they gain weight 25 grams okay so 100 100 grams of the feed their weight gain is 25 grams a day that's pretty incredible 25 percent of their food is turned into weight a chicken so only 75 percent is shot out that's pretty amazing to be able to they're talking about that's why we grow chickens that kind of conversion ratio is amazing
39:48 100 grams of feed to 25 grams that's why it's really important at this stage to make sure they got the right diet and the right food because they're growing so darn fast this is building their entire constitution for the less the rest of their life it's amazing so he's gonna bring in the bamboo leaf and the right food and the right food because they're growing so darn fast this is building their entire constitution for the less the rest of their life
40:13 it's amazing so he's gonna bring in the bamboo leaf and this is pretty important i mean i think we already saw how master master lee was cutting it but mr lee is also gonna cut this for them and see and he'll he's gonna put it down on paper and the paper is like master joe's like don't do that because they hit the paper and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them and it scares them
40:43 so um anyway you'll see you'll see so he's only talking about after 50 days he's 40 days he's not talking about this age so 25% so so
41:30 so so yeah so
42:26 ! ! so so
43:13 so so so so you can ! yeah so
44:07 you know I just take the this here where they're cutting it with scissors and doing this I just take a cutting board and do it with a knife sharp knife on a cutting board and I just kind of run like chef knife and just like I'm just like and I cut it that way versus trying the scissors like you know the scissors may work you know the scissors I wasn't very effective with the scissors but putting it you know just cutting it on a cutting board it helps like if you have the bamboo leaf and this is the bamboo leaf if you cut it this way a couple times first like vertically
44:42 you you like you can just like peel it and split it vertically like you're peeling a banana that direction then those strips then you can put on a cutting board and then you can cut them this way and you're getting it so small so easy no no no you don't have to be too small oh my god you don't have to be too small yeah you don't come here you said if you're rubbing then you're breaking down yeah easily break down yeah well now it's the magic so he's rubbing it to make it smaller more digestible I think I'm just saying I've never done that I don't know
45:22 I don't find that necessary but you see how small he's put in the thing it's really important to get it very tiny because the chickens are so small and they need to eat this yeah so you don't have to cut it tiny the first time because just a massage will get it into a plant better oh my god yeah yeah yeah that's pretty important the strongest yeah that's pretty important the strongest the most important the most important the most important the most important the most important the most important the most important the most important the most important the most important
46:08 the most important the most important yeah that's pretty important the strongest fiber because bamboo is just like super fibrous and the chlorophyll in there they need that and uh yeah and then if they're able to eat that then they can basically digest and absorb anything later in their life and they get a taste for greens so this is the way to do it to be fresh fresh always fresh fresh fresh fresh fresh fresh fresh fresh
46:54 fresh fresh fresh fresh side note to this is we're going over this you know this year man the chickens have just been I've gotten so many baby chickens 30 30 baby chickens I think this this year I'm not even trying like usually I incubate eggs but the chicks or the the hens I got two rogue hens that get out of my pen in the IMO box and they've been laying eggs out there just let them sit on them and then once they hatch then I take them and I put them in because I put them inside and in a little pen like this inside inside my pen my bigger pen
47:40 I put them in a small pen like that because otherwise the mongoose will just ravage them but uh and we gotten so many chickens this year like 30 new chickens which is we basically double their flock and it's it's amazing you know and half of them will be roosters so we'll reduce that back down but there's more there's another hen out there laying more eggs and sitting on them I'm like oh man I don't know it's like sometimes it like you you watch something you focus your energy on something and then it comes to you wild
48:10 the idea is to stretch the intestines that's what the brown rice is doing as they take the brown rice in their gullets like Chris was lifting up a bird and you feel them in their whole front of their chest over here is just like it's filled with rice and they they take the rice in and then as it gets moist in their intestines it expands
48:34 and it and it stretches their intestines when they're small little baby chicks and then in addition to having them eat this fibrous stuff and this is this is um you know from day 3 to day like 21 you're doing this with the with the bamboo the brown rice is given to them you know from day 0 to day 21 um um but the bamboo is from day 3 to day 21 and once a day you give them enough um and and then it it really yeah it it their intestines then can can get nutrients out of anything yeah it's a lot of
49:42 that's why you can't get it vertically that's why you can't rip it vertically that's why you can do it horizontally you're gonna get smaller pieces that's a good pro tip otherwise it's hard to clip it so straight in there it is just dried brown rice don't cook the brown rice first dried brown rice don't don't cook it so we're gonna bring this egg yolk and egg white yeah and then they're gonna feed them egg and then the bamboo with the fiber yeah so you know you know you know
50:28 you know you know you know you know you know you know because it was fed this one you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know
51:14 you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know
52:00 you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know no there's no subtitles if it's trying to get it read read
52:46 if you don't have bamboo leaves read is okay too reads so if you don't have it read oh read i love read he's such a good guy you can substitute you know any bamboo tree in you know from yeah we planted like five big bamboo trees yeah it's one of the fastest growing that's in the world three meters in a month bro yeah bamboo leaves every time you bite chew the sweet smells your sweet taste come out
53:31 so that's you know i used to talk or talk to old timers around here and when they're you know people that are now like 80 years old and they're like yeah when we're kids we used to dig under the bamboo tree and you'd grab the roots and suck on them they're sweet and it would be like before there was just like sugar every like they just go for bamboo leaves or bamboo roots and suck them for sweetness it's kind of similar to like honeysuckle plant when we were kids we used to do honeysuckle but that you know so that same sweetness that's in the leaves and then it gets the chicken
54:08 into that sweetness but it's chlorophyll and then it's fibrous and they eat this and they get they think the greens are just the best thing ever and then you train them from when they're young to to value and appreciate the greens and later they you know that'll reduce your feed bill because greens don't really cost that much but usually you can try cannabis and then you might have some farm where they tell you you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try
54:49 you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try you can try the Koreans just aren't very familiar with it because it's so taboo in that region you know but I'm sure hemp would be a great substitute sugar cane leaves also can be very good because it's sweet ah sugar cane leaves yeah this is this is the stuff like this is when I go back and I look at this and I'm like oh yeah I didn't even remember that
55:34 I have tons of sugar cane around here I mean I also have bamboo so I just use bamboo but you know yeah oh okay yeah okay cool which by the way Mark is like a cannabis expert I would defer anything to him man he's he just yeah he knows that plant better than most folks so thanks Mark yeah so if you just fed him hemp leaves straight up they'd be great cool yeah the best one is bamboo you can substitute me or sugar cane yeah then then I'm on each other I forget stuff like this so this is always good to go back and watch because I was there filming obviously but uh
56:24 it's hard to remember everything and I don't obviously I'm not taking notes right then so I'm yeah anyway so since this is the best one try to eat the best one instead of the second
56:39 the second that's the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the best one is the
57:09 it's funny sometimes you're at master chose things and then like he'll say something and all the koreans will laugh and then they translate it and you're like what so notice how much they're making and this is for those i think there's 100 to 200 chicks in there i'm not exactly sure but it's a fair amount so um you know usually the the um the recommended amount of bamboo per chicken is one leaf per chicken uh one leaf you know somewhere in that ratio it's about one leaf per chicken of how much you should be cutting up to feed them
57:54 you have to cut these small pieces just like you're dating you gotta give it love that made the korean girl just crack up classic classic i bet you the um yeah cannabis char stuff it's gonna be great it's gonna be great uh what's she talking about let's go back a little bit i wasn't i wasn't paying attention what was she saying let's go back 10 seconds
58:48 so you got your mindset has to be affection right like you're gonna share love with these chickens you're preparing this in love that affection of holding your wife girlfriend's hand should have that same feeling here makes sense makes a lot of sense that warm feeling from your heart comes out and invokes the microbes all those things so you see how much they've prepared for these chickens that's about one leaf per chicken chicken is going to eat one leaf yep and you just heard me summarize again each chicken eats about one leaf
59:36 just five minutes so they can and you only want to hold this for them for five minutes and again that's an important concept that you only give them access to the leaves for about five minutes uh you don't want it to be there much longer because then they think ah there's plenty of this i don't need it you want it to be there quick like it's like you want ice you know like if you know it's just like with kids you got to make it like ice cream a rare thing and then they want it and then it's like well you better do your chores otherwise you're not gonna get ice cream and then
1:00:07 they're like oh i'll do it but if you if ice cream was there all the time and then you're like do your chores or ice cream they're like ah fuck it you know you gotta you gotta kind of motivate with rarity yeah too much they get tired of it make it rare make it you know it's like oh you know it's just like gucci watches and stuff you're like oh it's rare so you want it but it turns out there's just plenty they just make it seem like it's rare you got to do the same thing this is the gucci food for them
1:00:46 so when you give this egg white first and then you give this one about 10 o'clock in the morning and feeding them 10 o'clock in the morning is about the right time for this uh so um and speaking of 10 o'clock in the morning it is 10 o'clock in the morning here so um we're about done but i wanted to drop one last thing here that you're mentioning the um biochar and the
1:01:33 sesame stock so let me hang out one sec let me see up here um this here this here oh um yeah so right here so um so the uh let's see here over here so when he's making water soluble phosphoric acid this is from a char so um phosphoric acid he's talking about all these things but basically he's saying burn sesame stems into charcoal and percolate the charcoal to extract the the water phosph water
1:02:18 solvium phosphoric acid um so i don't consider this one of the nine core solutions but this is a solution that is in his book and it is number nine even though i don't think it's a core solution because you don't really need this you can enhance better with it but it's not necessarily a core solution because um once you get good at farming then you can do this kind of stuff and i just you know so i admitted it from there because like if you have too many things people are going to be like that's too much to get started with but once you are started um you'll understand that water
1:02:51 phosphoric acid is used increasing cells when it moves to vigorous bud root tip or seed fruit you know so phosphoric acid really helps um increase big buds root tips seeds um and the way he's making it is burning sesame seeds sesame stems into charcoal so you could also do something similar with hemp i'm not sure what you're going to get from hemp but um phytic acid a storage of phosphoric acid is the main major substance in the seed phosphoric acid is involved in some long ass word i'm not going to pronounce and electron transport
1:03:27 and photosynthesis also phosphoric acid affects transporting anabolites and protein synthesis so um this is another thing where you you chart but instead of dissolving in vinegar you just um just percolate it with water um which is you know and then you're going to get this stuff out of there so um yeah do it mark do it five acre farm sounds about right you don't want bigger than that man tell you what it's like a lot of work for no you know what you can do on five acres is probably more than you can do and bigger than that so perfect cool um so having these things you know um
1:04:10 learning about these other solutions so we can come back to this but basically you know phosphoric acid let's see what else they got next page coming down um yeah so so basically they make charcoal you know burn the sesame seeds put out the fire when flames large flames appear put one to two kilos of sesame stem charcoal in a hemp cloth bag there you go there's your hemp right there in there apparently in korea hemp bags are not illegal um dip it in 100 liters of water in order to dissolve the phosphoric acid into the water crude liquid of natural phosphoric acid
1:04:47 takes about seven days so you just throw a tea bag of this two kilos and 100 grand 100 liters of water tea bag it um seven days temperature or it time varies based on temperature and surroundings and then when you go to use it you just pour off all that liquid and um dilute what is that 0.7 liters with 20 liters of water when you use it alone or if you're going to use it with other things dilute at one to one thousand when it's used together and you can use it with calcium probably a good idea um and so
1:05:22 what it what you know especially if you're a flower grower um during the crossover period that transition period right before it goes to bud um it promotes differentiation of flower buds resulting in high fertility and yield um and the sugar content and fruits and helps you know the color of your leaves um so anyway it's a good good another thing um uh do i have hard copies i do have hard copies i don't think there's any listed online right now well but i think i do if not i can print some mail you hard copy it's fine with me
1:06:03 um so anyway these are those things you know there's also the other solution here which is the water soluble potassium very similar thing um um and but not part of the core solutions potassium nitrate induces flowering again flowering these things are important um but usually usually most people have are missing the core solutions before they get to these but the method for this one for the um for the potassium here they're doing this with uh tobacco stems try and grind them but don't grind it too finely and then put one to two kilos of tobacco stems in a bag
1:06:53 put in 100 liters of water dissolve the potassium so you don't char this one it's just the stems and um this pulls out the potassium so again usage pretty darn similar to the other one so yeah yeah so you can you can screenshot and read this if you really wanted to um but uh but these are different ways of doing it these things are not necessarily core solutions and you're better off to do the core solutions get it great and then once you do then bring these in if you're trying to do this earlier to do these things you probably just need to go do the core solutions
1:07:34 um that's why i don't include these because people are like yeah i'm going to do this and that and it's like you can actually cause more problems with these if you don't have your other things balanced but you can screenshot this too just look at this this is you know what's your executive uh excess water solid potassium um yeah anyway um so with that um thanks for being here thanks for tuning in there's always more it's amazing uh be part of the knf community you stay till the end you got an extra bonus wow cool amazing
1:08:09 hope uh your your week is good uh get through the obstructions work on ourselves make things great um yeah make more places livable you and mark and everybody thanks for tuning in thanks for being here and i said this one i would go out with a burst i think so all right love you thanks bye
