Food Canoe Setup, IMO4, and Bacterial Mineral Water (BMW)
Drake opens with the I Ching hexagram Biting Through, then answers Big Wes's question about alfalfa plant juice: sugar that crystallizes at the bottom of an oversaturated batch is just sugar, not extra nutrients, since the nutrients ride in the water. Scrape it out for baking, or stir and dilute it back into solution.
He walks through the Foundation's Food Canoe project, raised beds built from old roofing and used with disabled veterans. Soil setup is four steps: 15 cubic feet of garden soil, 5 gallons of mulch, 1 gallon of indigenous microorganism (IMO) dust, then a spray of KNF maintenance solution (1 teaspoon in 27 ounces of water) followed by 6 gallons of water to carry the microbes down. He calls IMO4 the "milk" for new soil, saving composted pig-pen IMO for mature crops like sugar cane, tea, squash, papaya, and inga bean. Nine weeks later the bed was thick with basil, tomatoes, lettuce, and daikon.
From footage shot in Muju, Drake explains Master Cho's bacterial mineral water (BMW): well water is pumped up and dropped about three meters onto stone, which oxygenates the water and dissolves minerals, before it collects with IMO and recirculates to mimic a waterfall-to-stream cycle. Drake's home version drops water only about a foot and a half. The output boosts minerals and microbe counts in irrigation water and deodorizes manure.
Along the way he plays a clip of Stacy on whether plants carry something like an energetic or mental state, and talks up documenting garden results with weekly photos so members can compare techniques.
Questions answered
- 19:48 Why bother taking a photo of your garden every week? — Weekly photos from the same spot build a time-lapse record so others can see and compare what worked.
- 20:25 Alfalfa plant juice got oversaturated and sugar settled at the bottom — is that still usable? — It's just sugar, not more nutrients — scrape it out for baking, or stir and dilute it back into the juice.
- 23:04 Do plants have something like a mental state or energy meridians? — Stacy said she believes plants carry the same energy channels as people, and microbes help clear blockages and restore balance.
- 30:53 What materials do you need to set up a Food Canoe raised bed? — 15 cubic feet of garden soil, 5 gallons of mulch, 1 gallon of IMO dust, KNF maintenance solution, a 27-ounce sprayer, and a 2-gallon watering can.
- 35:34 How much KNF maintenance solution goes into the spray bottle? — One teaspoon of maintenance solution per 27 ounces of water, misted evenly over the IMO dust.
- 37:25 Why use IMO4 instead of pig-pen manure IMO on brand-new soil? — IMO4 is tuned foundation microbes for new soil; composted pig-pen IMO is richer, best saved for mature crops like sugar cane and papaya.
- 37:57 How much water does a new Food Canoe bed need to get properly moist? — About six gallons, checked with a finger test down to the first knuckle to confirm moisture below the surface.
- 44:16 Is comparing Food Canoe results between growers supposed to be a competition? — It's friendly competition — comparing techniques and results to push everyone to grow better, not to flex.
- 47:50 What tool does Master Cho use to shape his IMO piles? — A hiller blade, not a tiller — it throws soil into hills instead of tilling it fine.
- 48:31 What is Master Cho's bacterial mineral water (BMW) and how does it work? — Well water drops about three meters onto mineral stone to oxygenate and mineralize it, then recirculates with IMO like a mini waterfall.
- 52:49 What does BMW actually do for crops and animals? — It adds minerals and trace elements, boosts plant growth, improves fruit storability, and deodorizes manure.

5:02 All these are really objective. They're subjective things. Um, but documenting all this and writing it down so that we can help to then promulgate it back to this audience to the worldwide audience to publishing it so that we can start to really, um, share because we know it works, right? We know it works. You do it. It's like, wow, my plants are bigger, healthier, less disease, all these things. But then, I don't know. Like, you know, uh, sharing it and documenting what you actually did. Uh, cause sometimes you just do it, right? Um, doing it.
5:46 So, uh, so anyway, today we'll start with a bit of higher wisdom. I kind of jumped into that already. I was like, what do we do? But today is biting through. There is an obstacle to the expression of truth. Withdrawal into quietness. It allows the sage to moderate. Unity has been broken by one who is not being true to proper principles. This may be another or an element in one's own personality. Or both. In any case, serious misfortune may result if the appropriate response is not made.
6:34 The I Ching is very clear about what our, what our proper action is when confronted, confronted with an obstacle of this nature. Withdrawal into contemplation by and turning and a turning over of the matter to the higher power for resolution. This is a time when aggressive action or intervention can only compound this misfortune. Use your strength to clearly separate yourself from the incorrectness and realign yourself with the sage. It is always our responsibility to acknowledge where something has gone wrong.
7:21 But never our right to punish. The administration of justice is the sole province of the deity. The I Ching teaches us to forgive, but not forget. The other one who reveals himself as inferior today should be regarded as such tomorrow. It means we are wise to pay conscientious attention to the waxing and waning of truth in oneself and in others. When truth predominates, we can progress.
8:08 When it is eclipsed, we are obligated to withdraw and surrender the matter to the sage. Yeah. So, um, yeah, the secret, yeah, my, uh, if you text me, uh, it, it, uh, it makes the, uh, the Zelda, the Ocarina of Time, you found a box or something. And guess who the text was from? It's from Geico. It says, I paid $91 for a policy. Great. Yeah. Thanks Geico. Thanks for texting me, finding that secret. The key to happiness is paying for your car insurance.
8:54 Oh, I don't, I'm not sure that's true. Um, so anyway, yeah, thanks for being here, uh, biting through. We'll see. Maybe there, maybe the research committee is not the right thing to do. I don't know. Anyway, I always contemplate these things. I don't just take them as something I read and move on. I actually deeply grok into the understandings until I grok in completeness. Um, so it's always good. So, um, anyone got any questions? Can't have wise. Um, just talking. Yeah. We're talking yesterday, all kinds of good stuff.
9:36 You know, new year brings about thing where it's like, what should we change? What should we do? What should we keep the same? What's working? What's not? What should we do? So, um, yeah. So one of the, one of the things I don't know, I don't know if this, Hey, what's up, Pedro? Yo bro. Long time. Yeah. Can't have podcasts in the house. What's up? So when, one of the things I was thinking about is, um, is with the foundation is number one is man, it makes a huge difference having membership. Um, and, um, the, the bits, the, the, um, monetary contribution you make for being a
10:17 member really helps the foundation and super chats. Thank you, bird. Super chats really make a big difference for keeping this, uh, keeping it alive, keeping me enthused, keeping it going. You know, it, it really like having membership makes a huge difference. Um, having, having that, um, that come through. So, um, I thought so, Pedro, I'm sorry, buddy. Oh man. Yeah. Oh man. Oh yeah. Yeah. So respect to that. Yeah. Thanks. Oh yeah. We got to talk, Pedro. Maybe, uh, maybe I'll talk story with you after. I don't know. That's, uh, yeah. Hope life is good, man. Oh, you know. Yeah.
11:01 I don't know if you know, man, my master Joe passed away too. Oh gosh. Ah, but that was 2025. Yeah, man. Okay. So, um, where was I? Where was I? I was thinking, okay. Yeah. So, um, so with, with master Chobi and gone, one of the things I've been thinking about was, um, was keeping, you know, the generative AI and that kind of stuff is wild. So just, uh, just a small, you know, I don't know if you guys know about this stuff, but you can download large language models. And, um, for instance, like this computer here, let's see, let's, let's pull one of these up.
11:39 Let me just go like this and hit clear on this. So I get rid of these IP addresses and, oh, I already had it running here. Yeah. We'll just, we'll, uh, we'll do this one here. So, oh no, not like that. You're not even seeing it yet. I'm messing it up on this window. Okay. So let's, let's go here. Let's go here. Ah, to this. There we go. Like that. So here, here, I don't know if anyone uses the computer like I do, or anyone does this, but you know, it's, uh, let me, let's make that text bigger. Can we? Yeah. Okay. I'm gonna make the text bigger for you. And then let me resize that back.
12:19 So, um, so if you don't know, this is a command line. And then I can go, oh, llama. And then see, we'll just see what models I have in here. So we'll go, oh, llama. And then we'll run deep seek dash R one. And I got a, I'm able to run a 32 billion parameter. Oh, you know what? I got to say run. Otherwise it's going to puke on me run. And then now we're running. Oh, llama deep seek 32 billion parameter. And let's just say, let's just ask it. Um, do you know who? Master show is in Korean natural farming. And let's just see.
12:59 So this is, this is wild, this thing here, but I was thinking about taking something like this and having it study the knowledge base of master chose. So giving it access to a bunch of books. Um, and this is just what it learned from the internet, I guess, but, um, you know, so it's, it's, it's there, it's thinking it's doing this stuff. Um, and it, apparently it knows about Korean natural farming and it's just thinking so we can watch it think, but I was thinking about feeding it a bunch of data. So taking all these office hours, all the, uh, videos and transcribing them and putting
13:34 all those things out there. Um, but this, you know, I don't know if you guys know about this thing, but this is crazy. Like literally the AI think can think now and it's like becoming sentient and it's, to me, it creeps me out. Sometimes I'm like, should I leave my, um, should I leave my computer alone? What is it doing when I'm not watching it? Right? So, um, so it thought a whole lot. I didn't read much of that cause I was talking, but, um, okay. So, but this is what it's, this is what it's going to give me after this think close tag.
14:07 It's going to give me all this of what it, what it, um, did. So here it is. So it says, certainly here's an organized presentation based on the thought process. So it says exploring master Cho and Korean natural farming, uh, introduction to Korean natural farming. KNF is a sustainable agricultural method that emphasizes harmony with nature. I would love that if it said balance instead of harmony, but that was on the website for a long time. Harmony. Harmony has harmony and on and why harm on why? Um, anyway, balance. I like better using local resources and traditional practices.
14:42 It avoids chemical fertilizers and pesticides, focusing on stead on soil health and natural inputs. Investigating master Cho. Say master Cho was identified as potentially a significant and KNF possibly an advocate, farmer or researcher. So it really doesn't know that much about him effort. So, so this, we could train the model and give it a knowledge base. And then it would be like, yes, I know all this, right. It would study it. Um, efforts to find information included academic papers, agricultural journals, books, online resources, but no specific details are found. Yes. He is pretty obscure.
15:13 I give it that he is pretty obscure. Um, so general overview of KNF principles, utilizing natural processes enhances soil fertility, promotes biodiversity and minimizes environmental impact. Wow. That's great. That's really what we do. You know, um, that's, that's a really good summary. I should just keep that one there. Um, practices includes composting, green manure, crop rotation. It doesn't include crop rotation, man. Come on. The whole point is you don't have to rotate your crops because you're putting the microbes, man. This is now it's just BSing us in composting.
15:47 I guess that could be the IML process and green manure. It's definitely growing cover crops. I wish they called it growing cover crops instead of like green poop. It's like living, living crops. Anyway. Um, and the use of natural pesticides like neem oil, who the heck is using neem oil and chili solutions? Yeah. I've never seen any natural farmer, uh, from master chose line promote neem oil. Um, maybe it's studying young song. Joe. Okay. Key figures in K and F while specific details on master chore are lacking,
16:19 K and F's development is influenced by various farmers and researching, advocating sustainable methods. Notable figures might include individuals promoting traditional farming techniques or scientific advances in the field. Okay. Okay. Conclusion and encouragement for further research with, without specific information on master show. This overview provides a context of K and F interested individuals are encouraged to explore academic resources, interviews with K and F partition practitioners or case studies on deeper for deeper insights. So there we go right there.
16:52 This is justifying the K and F research committee, right? Of having case studies for deeper insights, right? The more we publish this, the more we get it out, the more the GPT is going to understand the more R one deep seek is going to get this out to you. And this is what we need, right? All of us to be able to contribute case studies for deeper insights. Because if we're all doing it, then we need to do this right. And put it out there. So then the AI, when Pete, when kids ask, well, how should I farm? It'll be like, you use microorganisms and you build a living soil.
17:26 If we don't, it's just going to be like, you know, Syngenta talking about how they're going to work with Salesforce to like, you know, chain you to the W E F. So you own nothing and they'll be happy. At least this way you'll, you know, um, anyway, so we need to get out there to do that and make academic resources, you know, um, I don't know about that. I don't really trust academic institutions very much. Um, maybe you do. We have a little running joke here that a PhD stands for permanent head damage. So I'm not sure if you're out there with a PhD, but, um, if you, you know, whatever.
17:59 Um, and I'm not, I'm not, I'm not insulting you at all. I'm just saying that, um, you, um, well, I guess I am. I guess I am. Um, so, uh, interviews with KNF practitioners. So if you are interested in interviews with KNF practitioners, um, that is what the foundation is already doing. So if you're not aware, let's go over here and let's go to pure KNF.org. And here, if you are a member, you get access here. Oh, I view my access. Okay. I'm already logged in. I can go here to membership and see our micro documentaries. Right? So there you go. Here are experts, right? Right.
18:39 Talking about it and hopefully we'll get some more of these, but anyway, yeah, experts, you can go listen to the people in the field. So when you, you know, what R1 is suggesting you do, we are, we are offering that to everybody. Interviews with KNF practitioners, right? This is how to get more information on this. Right. And it says this presentation offers a clear structured approach to understanding the topic, emphasizing KNF principles while acknowledging the lack of specific information about Master Cho. So, you know, there you go. Um, KNF, its own thing doing its thing. That's it.
19:14 But I guess we are on the right track. You know, it says, uh, you know, um, yeah. I'm teaching that AI how to, how to do things. Okina AI. Um, yeah. And bricks, bricks meters. Those are all good things. Um, yeah. But if we train the AI to do it properly and have these things, um, it'll, we'll minimize the hallucinations, make it hallucinate off mic off mushrooms instead of hallucinating off of, um, you know, whatever. Um, yeah. So, and, and goofman inspiring his little brother to do KNF based off his pictures. Right. So that's the thing.
19:59 The more we document and take pictures of our gardens and our farms and our produce and ourselves and everything we're doing, we take pictures photographic. You know, this is what I started with. Then I applied these things and this is what I got. Then people are like, wow, that, that looks impressive. My things don't look like that. How did you do that? And then you have the data to back it up. Right. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Right. So just having these things out there. Um, and those things. And so, um, so let's see here. Yeah. Um, never let school interfere with my education.
20:37 Yeah. Piled higher and deeper. Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh. That's a good one. Um, so, uh, so big Wes has a question here. We'll get to it right here, which is basically I've oversaturated, um, his alfalfa KNF food with sugar. It's piled up at the bottom. Can I just grab it as the plant juice to the bottom of the jar or is it just sugar? It's just sugar. Cause the sugar doesn't, it's, it's, it's not full of water, which the water is the plant juice is the nutrients are in the water. So it's just sugar, but you can scrape it out and make a really good cake.
21:15 Um, and also if you, if you did stir it before you use it, you know, sugar would then be, um, you know, up in your, up in the thing and you could pour it in and then it would go out and as you dilute it, it would get more water and then it would dissolve and it'd be worth it. Um, so, um, yeah. And if your things don't look that good, that's why you're here. Well, I'll tell you what, if your things don't look that good, start taking photos now, because then as you do this stuff and you learn these approaches, your photos will get better.
21:47 But if you're already doing it and you start taking photos and you keep doing it, it's like, ah, it didn't really change that much. Cause it was already that good. Right. I mean, you can always probably get better, but, um, but anyway, those things of doing those things to learn, to do the goodness. Um, and pretty soon your kids will be so into it. I ask you to bring banana vinegar everywhere. Just like Pedro's kids. That's so cute. That's so cute. Yeah. Having the right vinegar and vinegar. Again, if you are not a member, you probably don't know.
22:19 But when we talked to, let me go over here, membership. Oh, let me show you what I'm seeing over here. But when I go to the membership here and we go to the monthly meetings, talking with Stacy here about the, um, she, she's a nutrition expert type of thing, type of thing. I say type of thing because she's more than that. She is like a wizard when it comes to all this stuff. But her favorite thing was the vinegar. Let's see if we, can we get just a clip of it? Am I, am I that lucky to see? Let's see what she has to say here. Beads up. And so it can help to boost the level.
22:59 It's still not going to be as the same, or as I feel as making it yourself, but it'll help to bring up the, the number of good guys. Sometimes I run out of cold, lots of great things here. So, so you know, your farmers then, right? All right. Yeah. Yeah. Like that. Do you, do you have any, um, philosophy on this or like understanding of like a plant mental state and mental health? Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think what I would say to that is that, um, it also kind of relates back to acupuncture.
23:46 So these, um, these things, these elements are flowing through our bodies, through channels, through meridians. Um, and that when that flow, when everything is flowing, there's no blockages, you're in balance. Your mental state is pure. You're calm. You're quiet. You can experience all of the emotions. You're at peace. Um, and that we can see, I believe the same thing in plants that they have similar channels of energy flowing through them. And I believe that when we as people and plants as well, that there are things that, um, outside
24:39 of us that will block those flow of energy and cause distress. Um, things like pesticides, herbicides, negativity, negative thoughts, um, all of those things will cause blockages in the flow of energy. Um, and then we also have things that will help to open up the flow of energy. Um, I believe that like microorganisms are beings with energy and that they are there working for us. Um, and, and they, I mean, we can see in science that they actually move and transport. And so through that process, they're helping to remove blockages and create flow and harmony
25:29 and, um, open up those channels and restore balance. And like, I don't know, that's kind of a long-winded way to answer your question about mental health. But yes, I think they have the same energy systems within them and they can become blocked and out of balance or open and flowing freely. And we can see that we can see, we can see that they're healthy. So, um, so there you go. Just small preview. I don't know. Just randomly clicked on part of it to see what she's up to, but yeah, all those kinds of things, man, you know, and, and tons of people.
26:13 So understanding experts, interviewing experts, the AI even told you to do it, you know? And it's like, well, if you don't listen to the AI, watch out. Oh, anyway. Um, so good things work, you know, those things, put them all together, taking all this data and putting it into a way where we can deliver it to you when you need it at, you know, especially for members, you know, once a month getting together, doing those things, putting things up, getting together with like-minded people, creating a thing and making it grow, fostering it, cultivating it. We do it. Right.
26:49 So looking forward to, uh, sharing that with you all. But, uh, you know, let's, uh, if there's any other questions, fire them away. But otherwise let's, uh, yeah, the before and after pictures are so much. Oh, so one more thing I wanted to do while we're talking about this is, um, is share this screen here. Let's see this one like that. I get rid of these other ones I don't use. Um, so if you look at the projects, the food canoe project here, so pure knf.org food canoe under projects, food canoe project here. Um, there is, we did this project.
27:28 So this was, this was the inspiration for our research committee, right? So we did a bunch of photographic things, worked with a bunch of veterans to, um, help them improve their mental health and their, um, you know, mental restorations basically. And through gardening, growing and using what we call these food canoes, which are basically raised garden beds built out of old recycled roof or new roof put up on, um, kind of in like a trough type of thing. You can see that here. Let me, uh, let me put that on so you can see, and we grew all kinds of things.
28:01 So let me show you down here as this was, you know, here's how we were doing to build the things. He's, these are some of the veterans working here to build them. Yeah. All, all these great folks involved to build them, make it happen. Um, and then we went through and this, this garden, this one, this one happened to be mine here, but, but this is like, this is the thing of watching it go from like, you know, this was a weekly photo taken from the same location. And this kind of was for me, one of the inspirational things as we finished, uh, this project, I was
28:39 like, man, we should have more of this. And so, so here, you know, week zero week one, you can see the things starting to sprout. Week three things are going week four. They're kicking butt. Uh, week five things coming up here. Look at the, the, the basil at the, at the back, like this, look at watch, watch the basil. I mean, more than anything, that basil just went crazy. Or was it? Yeah. There's a basil back there. Just like took off or was it not? Was it not? Is that tomatoes? I don't know. Maybe, maybe it was tomatoes. Maybe it was tomatoes. Is that tomatoes? Let me see. I can't see. Yeah.
29:16 It was tomatoes. Actually, that was tomatoes back here. Look at those tomatoes just out of the gate. Just boom, boom. Look at that. They're leaning over the edge. It gotta be tomatoes. Only tomatoes lean over the edge, but in literally zero one or one, two, three weeks. Look at that. Tomatoes coming out, already going, cranking the basil. Look at that. And then the final photo here where it's just like the basil just went crazy. And then look at these daikons. And I guess there's just like, I guess the most other stuff got eaten. No one wants to eat the daikon. Actually I do.
29:46 The daikon is actually really good, especially pickling it. And yeah, going through and look at the lettuce is already starting a bolt. We let a couple of the lettuces go to seed. So we'd have infinite seed source, but look at that basil. Look at that basil. I mean, look how beautiful that basil is. Look how big those leaves are and things like, yeah. I mean, look like, so, you know, when you say a picture is worth a thousand words, it truly is. And this was one of the inspirational things, right? This was like a, like eight week project. How many, how many weeks? Nine weeks to get to here.
30:19 Right. Um, you know, it's like two and a half, two and a half months, two months. Yeah. Two and a half months. And like, look at that, you know? And so, and so when people ask questions, like how did we prepare that soil? Well, I'm glad you asked because here's exactly how the soil was set up. Right. Here's what I did. So in this lesson, we're going to set up our food taco and get the soil and get it prepared for our first planting. So the materials you'll need are 15 cubic feet of garden soil. You'll need five gallons of mulch. You'll need one gallon of indigenous microorganisms.
30:58 You'll need a measuring device capable of measuring teaspoons. K and F maintenance solution. You will need a spray bottle with 27 ounces of clean, fresh water. And you will need a watering can of the two gallon size. So with those materials assembled, we can begin starting to fill our food taco with soil. And then we want to make sure that you select a good location for this. So in our case, we've selected this here. It's near our house. It has plenty of abundant sunlight to hit it. And it's in a location where it will get a lot of natural fresh rainwater.
31:39 If we were growing more delicate crops, we could put it under a cover and manually water it more than just letting nature rain on it. But in our case, for what we're growing, we'll just leave it here out in the area. The other thing we've done to pre-prep this site is because the food taco will be growing for a full year, we put down some cardboard under the taco to prevent grass from growing up and to make our long-term maintenance a bit easier for ourselves.
31:55 So to get our food taco ready for planting, today we're going to set up the soil and bring it to life with our microorganisms and our maintenance solution. And this is a four-step process. Step one is to add in our soil. Step two is to mulch it. Step three is to spread our indigenous microorganisms. And step four is to spray it and water it in with our pure K&F maintenance solution. So step one is beginning to add our soil to our food taco. So I have these bags of soil here. And the easiest way is to put the bags into the food taco and then cut them open and spread it out evenly.
32:17 When we're done, the soil should be about just one inch below the brim of our food taco. And I'm just telling you that we did this, like I could have made my own soil mix, but I just got what was like the basic idea is to make this project work from Home Depot. You know, there's pretty much a Home Depot everywhere across America and you can buy this soil there, you know, sideways. So we could have made our own. So we could have done our own things. We could have done our own things.
32:38 We could, you know, but I was just like, I'm going to do it from this so that you would have this idea that, you know, this basically you can like buy a garden and make it in any of you. If you don't have access to areas like you're like, oh, I don't have a garden. My landlord won't let me garden. Well, I should, you could set one of these up in your garage, indoors, on your porch, anywhere. And this thing, now you can grow amazing basil, tomatoes, daikons, carrots, lettuce, uh, basil. I don't know. I probably said basil already, but you can grow tons of basil.
33:05 You can make a basil business and probably pay back the thing. And then your second crop you could grow just, you know, then, then all this would be paid off and then you'd be able to, you know, grow basil infinitely after that. When that's done, we'll move on to step two. So look at me. Oh yeah. Rippling biceps, just pouring the soil out. Look at that. Oh yeah. Breaking it up. But, um, you know, this is part of finishing up step one is just to make sure that you've broken up any big clods of soil.
33:29 So if your soil is clotted like this, kind of breaking up, spreading it, and then just making sure that it's evenly spread over the surface so that you don't have any big parts. Just make it nice and even and level over your entire surface here. Oh yeah. Look at that. The soil is completely spread out and it's just about an inch or so below the edge of our food taco. So now our 15 cubic feet of soil are into our food taco. We're ready to move on to step two. Step two of getting our soil prep for our food taco is to add our mulch.
33:49 So this is mulch that we got from the Hilo landfill and it's just shredded green wings. But if you don't have access to this, another great alternative is yard clippings. Once you cut your yard and you let your clippings dry a bit, that also works as a very good mulch. So what we want to do here is we want to empty this five gallons of mulch onto our food taco and then spread it out evenly over the top. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Goof, man. This makes it like the whole point was actually to make this because a lot of veterans are disabled, like in different ways.
34:19 I mean, especially all, in fact, all the guys we were working with are on, we're on disability. We should have just about the finest quarter inch layer. And so making it easy to be up so you can access it like for, for elderly folks, you know, for anybody at any age, it's going to work as abled or disabled. It's like, this was the whole point was to make this accessible. And this, this design here, the food canoe, uh, like. It's pretty much ubiquitous. They spread evenly spread over the garden bed.
34:44 So that that helps to prevent moisture from evaporating and also helps give our microbes a home to live in. So now that our mulch is spread out evenly over the top of the garden bed, we're done with step two and we're ready to move on. To step three is we're going to add our indigenous microorganisms and this comes as a powder dust. So the idea is that we want to just spread it, spread this dust very evenly over the surface of our entire garden bed. So notice this is like the proper application, right? It's just the fine dust. It's not like a thick layer. It's just.
35:15 And with that, we're now done with step three, our indigenous microorganisms have been added to our food tackle. And again, this, this would work on the ground. It would work anywhere. I'm just happened to be doing it this way. Getting our food tackle soil prep. So what we're going to do here is we need to do a pre pre-step of getting our water bottle with 27 ounces of water prepped with the correct dilution of our KNF maintenance solution so that we can spread that. So to do that, we have this teaspoon measure here and we need. That was IMO four.
35:40 I mean, it was, it was, you know, activated foundational IMO with, um, with those things. Yeah. So we're just watching the, you know, how to do this. One teaspoon for this 27 ounces of water. So what I'm going to do is first take a sip, make sure it's good. Probably should have shaken it up. One teaspoon of maintenance solution to our measure and then add that to our water here. Now our food is ready in our water and we're going to give it a good shake to mix that around.
36:07 So now that we've shaken it up, our second step of step four is to spread this evenly over so that all of our dust, it was here, which is our indigenous microorganisms are wet with KNF maintenance formula. So on your sprayer, you want to make sure that it's spraying nice and misty to kind of evenly coat the surface. See? Now we're just going to mute this cause you're going to hear it, but, but basically then you just put it over the top and that activates all those microbes that go in to get into the mulch to work. You can use, um, you know, stuff from the pig pen, but it's not as good.
36:38 The IMO four is specifically designed to bring soil to life versus. A smaller meaning fluid that you're unable to get out of the sprayer with the last. Versus if I was using it from my pig pen floor, my pig pen floor is more for mature crops. It's not necessarily for getting my soil foundation to be together, but on these crops back here, the sugar cane, these tea leaves, this, um, squash, this papaya tree, this Inga bean, all the things growing in the background that are already growing. That's where the pig pen animal manure type of more composted. IMO would really shine putting composted.
37:10 IMO into a brand new soil bed like this. It's like serving an infant, like filet mignon. They're just not going to appreciate it. They just want some milk. The, this IMO four is like the milk for them, right? Putting that out there. So, um, so it's not like, it's not good. It's just like, it's too much. It's too rich, too rich of a food. You want to just put the good microbes that are what, what they, what I call foundation IMO or IMO four in, in Master Cho's language. And it's microbes that have been tuned to live in soil and really good stuff. You can just kind of water.
37:41 You can just kind of water ridiculously over the top. And with that, we've now brought our, our microbes. We fed them with a can of maintenance solution. The last part of step four is to make sure that your soil is moist enough for the microbes to then go down. You want to feed the microbes with the spray before watering so that they can get the food and nutrients they need. And then to water them in. So they have the moisture they need to find their homes and inoculate your soil bed. So in this case, because our soil is brand new and was in the bag, it's not very moist.
38:04 And if you, if that is the case, the food taco usually takes about six gallons of water to get to sufficient moisture so that the microbes in the soil can start to come to light and water our microbes. And you can see I'm using a large spout watering can. And that's kind of nice to be gentle to slowly get our microbes down into the soil. But what I'm going to do is just kind of water back and forth evenly over the top to make sure that the water goes down and in.
38:21 Yeah, that's the soil for Home Depot. If you moisten it this way, you put microbes, the IMO, you know, I'm just watering, you know, I'm going to put about six gallons of water in there just to make sure the whole thing gets moist and the microbes want to move down and get into there. And then you do the finger test. Okay, so we've now added our six gallons of water into our taco. And it's always good to just do a quick check with your finger, reach down and make sure that the soil is moist, not just on the surface, but down below about to your finger step.
38:45 And in this case, it's really wet, which is okay. And so, so we're good. So today we've completed the four steps of getting our food taco prepped with all the soil we needed. We added the soil, we mulched, we put our IMOs, and then we fed them with our KNF maintenance solution and watered them insufficiently. So now we can wait a day or a week till we go on to our next step, which is planting and sowing seeds into our food taco. So thank you. So there you go. I don't know. Anyway, what was I talking about?
39:08 It just like this is the inspiration for the, for the research, you know, this is what I did for that garden, right? So when you saw those things grow, that's exactly, that was the exact soil prep that was put into this exact garden right here. Ah, you can see this is the same garden, same spot, same cardboard, same thing, same spray bottle that that's how I prepped the soil for this, right? This was brand new Home Depot soil that was just like, you know, whatever quality it was, whatever toxins were in there.
39:39 And I put the IMOs on top, but what rest of the week, and then I planted the seeds the following week. And then this is what happened. This is the growth. And then also each week, the, um, the plants were also sprayed with that same maintenance solution. So that's food, cleanser, medicine, and structure that they were, that I put that same little teaspoon, tablespoon. I don't know, whatever it said in the video, you know, like, like few mils were put into that spray bottle. And that spray bottle was sprayed on all these crops, you know, and like, that's, that's what it took to do this.
40:13 And that's the only thing I did to do this, to get all this. I mean, look how picture perfect this basil is. No, no bug bites. No, like, this is just awesome. You know, pesto for days. Um, you know, lettuce, all that. I mean, the lettuce was eaten out. I think the tomatoes are still kicking, but the tomatoes, but look, look at that. Do you see these tomatoes back there? You see these tomatoes? Like, look at that. That's nine weeks in. And these tomatoes starting to form here. Right. Um, you know, that was just so, um, pesto for days. Yeah.
40:47 Um, you know, that, that, that's like the, so anyway, that, that's what it was, you know, this is, so this is what I'm talking about when I'm talking about, you know, research and doing this, this is what we want to inspire and see and then promulgate and share, because sure. It's like, well, you're like, sure, you can do that in Hawaii, but it's like, you can do it where you're at. If you share this, then we can share it and we can inspire, we can make it bigger, can make it better. We can explain, we can do these things and just documenting what you did. Right.
41:12 I, I, that one was more like a tutorial of like, I'm teaching people how to do it. Um, and so in, in the, the solution I was adding to it was maintenance solution. So it had food, cleanser, medicine, and structure in it. Right. Those are kind of the four pillars of natural farming to, to the common denominator of anything. And it brings it all together. So adding those things in makes it better, um, brings it to life, does those things.
41:38 Um, so, um, what I mean, make, Oh, make the IMO with soil from Home Depot. You could, you could, um, you know, it's best to use your indigenous soil from where you're at. It really is. Um, I don't think the Home Depot soil is going to make anything more efficient. This was just like a demonstration of what you can do and show and, and, and try to make it as accessible for anybody.
42:05 Um, so anyway, um, so that's, that's what we're, you know, anyway, here, I'm still talking about the research committee, but let me go. And, uh, if that didn't inspire you, I hope it did. Um, and just taking photos like this where, you know, literally just each week, I just went out to the same spot and took the same photo, right? Stood in the same spot and tried to take the same photo each time. And that way you could kind of get this little time-lapse of action happening. And then everybody else that participated in the project, you can see their photos of what they did.
42:38 You know, this, these tomatoes look a little bit more strung out. I'm not sure where they're going exactly tall. And, um, you know, everyone had different varying levels of success. This one, this, this food taco that I'm looking at right here was under a covered roof up above with very little sunlight and also up in mountain view. So it was like hard to get that much sunlight to it. These guys were here. I don't know if they did, did the maintenance solution and did all the things properly, you know,
43:00 using wood chips might've slowed it down a little bit versus my dump mulch using grass clippings. Look at this one, this one kicked butt growing. The tomatoes do look a little strung out. Um, they probably, they probably do need a little bit of fuel into them if I'm looking at it. And then you see this, this tip of the, um, onion, either the onions mature and, or it needs a little bit of fuel into it. Um, so, but balancing out, you know, I, we were just trying to do a project to give them very simple solutions to give them very simple, you know, instructions to do things.
43:31 And you could always make this slightly better. Right. But everybody, people with no growing experience were able to grow just like massive amounts of stuff. And, um, that's, that was the whole idea. So the more we can do this, the more we can document, the more we can be like, well, what did this person do compared to this person compared to this person compared to this person? What are their environmental factors are different? How are all these things different? And that's the kind of research and things that if we can do that together, do it over this year, make it.
44:01 So it's like, by the end of this year, 2026, we're going to have just a compendium of like, here's how, you know, this was the best results we got. You know, who, who out there is, is goof man going to grow better than sow is going to grow better than B Hendricks. You know, is Pedro going to grow the biggest things, you know, and it's not like a competition between us, but. That friendly competition could encourage us to grow just amazing things and document it and share it and have so many different, um, ways of doing things that it could be pretty darn sweet. That's all I'm saying.
44:35 Um, so, um, so anyway, yeah, these, these grow, you know, I encourage you this year grow. Um, yeah. And applying IMOs, all that it's all good. So, um, so anyway, I wanted to, um, yeah, just have a look at those giant pumpkin growing community folks. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they, they use weird hacks to do that kind of stuff. I mean, the whole key is like, is it sustainable? How much, and how much did you spend like time, money, effort to get it for the results?
45:22 Because there's an optimal thing there. You can spend every day out there doing it. And, and, but that's not practical for like growing for everybody. Right. I think that the thing is not like the biggest, the best. You also got to fact, you got to divide that by time and energy and effort that you put into it. Right.
45:38 Um, and that's your, their bottom line that I don't think they factor into the big pumpkin growing contest is if they took the size of your pumpkin divided by how much effort you put into it, then you'd have a more better metric of like, what does it take to grow this much pumpkin? And, you know, um, so yeah. Um, yeah. And, and big West bragging about growing with these things. Yeah. It's, it's, you know, less water, all these things. Um, yeah. And sharing, sharing results. It's not competing. Competing is just fun to be like, Hey, yeah.
46:11 Like, you know, just, just to show, uh, the competition bit of it. It's not like you're competing to like be the best and flex on people. It's, it's like the competition is to see like who, you know, to give you the goal of, growing the best and divide that by your effort. Right. It's, that's not, it's a friendly competition. It's not like a, I did better than you. And it's, and it's the document it's the C right. And I always think that like, that's, that's the, uh, competition can be good and friendly. Right.
46:37 Like sometimes you can just play, but if you play for like who, you know, who wins, you play harder, you know? And it's like, that, that's like the, that's the, uh, you know, a good competitive spirit and not like condescending, not where someone's going to cheat or like, you know, like it's just like, it's fun. Right. You know, I don't know. Maybe that's just me. Maybe other people are, I hate competition. So who knows? Um, so with that said, and all those things going on, let's, let's not just have it just about us. Let's have it be about master show as well. And let's dive into this.
47:13 We were at, are we at two hours? I think we're at two hours. So we're going into livestock here. And really what we ended up finding out here is if you were watching this video is that we went to Muju and we were talking about, um, we were talking about livestock. But what we ended up doing is going through this whole IMO collection process and hearing master show job deep wisdom on this. So the KNF podcast, uh, soon to be out on all your favorite platforms. Um, and, and aggregated, but otherwise find it on YouTube right now or KNF support or pure KNF.
47:50 But anyway, we went through all these hacks where like, not hacks, like good pro tips is a better way of saying it, where he's turning his IMO. We had the good IMO versus the bad IMO, what the chunky, what you're looking for, all these things, these pro tips. You got to go back and watch it if you didn't, if you weren't here with us. And we are getting all the way up. Um, Chido San, Chido San is great. We are getting all the way up. Oh, so here's, here's his, here's his BC. Like, again, it's a, it's a, it's a hiller, not a tiller. It's a hiller blade.
48:24 Um, you're trying to throw this stuff up and make hills versus till it to heck all the heckin'. Um, and so now we are over at his bacterial mineral water. This is a waterfall system. And so let me just quickly, briefly go over here and bring up, um, a book here. Let's see. Um, and go down. Um, let's see this one here and go down to where he has the bacterial mineral water. Let's see here. Where are we? Oh, fine, fine. It's hard to find things live. Should I have this pre? Let's see. Am I going to find it? She does the search work. Can I search BMW?
49:11 Is it going to find something? Let's see. Page 128. No. Bacterial mineral water. Okay. He is talking. He talks about it as a solution though. Is it in there? No. Maybe it's in this book. Does he talk about it? BMW. If you don't know what I'm talking about. Oh man. Uh, let's see. Well, we'll go through. We'll watch this video. And then as we watch the video, I can, um, I can pull up the BMW machine. So we'll just watch a little bit of this. Now, we do not have a city water, pipe water. So we use it underground water. You heard that underground water has a no-oxidant.
49:57 So this is what we do. Well water. So this is the middle of the mountain. But this one, not that three meter, but this is almost three meter. There's a water. It's at least three meters. Because this house is near.
50:43 It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. It's near. Now, if there's no forest like it. I know. If the water will drop down. Then maybe. So what, uh, what he's talking about, just, just for a little quick reference on this is he's talking about bacterial mineral water. This is what Master Cho called it. It was, it's also BMW. I think he just liked BMWs, but BMW bacterial mineral water.
51:15 So the principles is, um, strengthen the absorb, uh, absorption ability by making the water particles smaller contains dissolved oxygen. Okay. So as the water falls, it pulls in oxygen, gets all those things. Um, the, I can't translate Korean. So basically what it's doing is water's coming in as an input. It goes up and goes and falls three meters onto rocks and stones. These stones have all kinds of different minerals in there. And you're simulating like raining or a waterfall. And as water falls through the air, it pulls oxygen into it. And then it hits the rocks, the rocks.
51:54 Then that oxygenated water is able to dissolve the rocks better. Then it sits in a tank. That tank has IMOs in there. Those IMOs then run through. And I, this looks like a filter. I'm not exactly sure why this is, but basically the idea is then you just pump it around and around. So the water, and it's, again, you're supposed to have it fall from the three meters. I don't know why it's not in this side, but it's falling. My, I don't, I don't actually have it fall through three meters. I have it fall from about a foot and a half.
52:22 Um, but then I pump it with great vigor and then I have this bottom swirl it around. But the basic idea is that you're pumping the water around and around, simulating water falling, raining, and then swirling through streams and pools and then being pumped back up to rain and you're building a little hydrological cycle of water falling. And then that all gets really nice and concentrated with microbes and falls on minerals and that gets oxygenated and all those things together. Then you pump this out to your crops or you drink it or you feed it in your animal water or whatever you use it.
52:58 And you're getting highly mineralized and micro organism life that then you're pumping out to your plants or whatever you're going to use this on. Right? So this is the general theory of what it is. And this are some of the effects, you know, it has abundant minerals and trace elements in there. It promotes plant growth. It, um, you know, mineral rich improves storability, right? If your fruit has a bunch of minerals, it lasts longer. It deodorizes manure. So, you know, uh, oxygenated water plus these microorganisms, you spray it out there.
53:35 It'll get rid of, um, you know, the smell from pig pens, all those things. And, um, and the more you circulate it around and it goes around, the more concentrated it gets, right? Um, yeah. And you can have it fall on salt and all those things. So this is the basic idea of what we're doing, right? This is like, this is the theory. And then here, this is the practice of it, right? So this is what he's doing. Not enough oxygen will go in. So he made intentionally this extra hole. So the air can go inside. When that, the water drop down into the stone.
54:12 When it hit it, then they develop, I mean, they absorb this oxygen in the air into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water.
54:27 So, you know, the water drop down into the water. You know, the water drop down into the water. You know, the water drop down into the water.
54:39 You know, the water drop down into the water. You know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the sunlight comes in. There is some, you see the green color? Algae. Algae.
54:54 So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water drop down into the water. So, you know, the water drop down into the water drop down into the water drop down into the water.
