What does it mean when theres a mother coming up from a WCP during the process?
So there are 7 days i am making wcp made from cow bones which i diluted with brv and a bit of fruit vinegar. I've made it before but now i can see a thin white layer on the top ( which looks like a vinegar mother) and there are still bubbles coming up as i move the jar. By the way it still smells vinegar but not that really strong smell.
My question is should i leave the charged cow bones a bit longer before i extract the solution? And does it mean i put more vinegar than i should therefore the solution might be weaker?

for the to much vinegar just add more bones to it see if it starts to bubble again if it does then yes to much vinegar but by adding more bones you fix that problem just keep dropping bits of bone in every few days when it stops reacting you are done
for the mother it is not recommended to use live vinegars when making WCA or WCAP all you are looking for is the acids to break down the shells n bones Drake has said he uses just white distilled vinegar i use ACV its pretty cheap here where i live if you use your live vinegars they should be pasteurized i dont know the exact reason behind this but i would guess it has to do with potency and shelf life you would not want your mother eating all the dissolved calcium you just put in there
the white film on top could also be a yeast in the air eating oil residue or something from the bones not a big deal just stir it up they will die in the high acid environment (iv had this happen before)

Drake's sources say bubbling means the bone is still dissolving. Wait until the movement stops. The jar is done then, about 7 days in. (Cho, Recipe, p. 65) (KNF Demystified, p. 41)
To check your vinegar amount against the library:
- Use 1 part bone to 10 parts brown rice vinegar by weight. (Cho's Solutions, p. 13)
- Use a breathable lid, and stir or agitate the jar daily. (Cho's Solutions, p. 13)
- Pour off the liquid only after the bubbling stops. (KNF Demystified, p. 41)
Plain white vinegar works for burnt bone (WCP). A living vinegar with a mother is called for in the Cleanser, not in WCP. (Office Hours Ep. 69, 40:38)
The library does not say what a white layer on a WCP jar means. It also does not say whether extra vinegar weakens the solution.
