Drake's FPJ starts with fresh plant material. Sugar draws the juice out by osmosis and leaves toxins behind (Office Hours Ep. 22, 20:55). Growing tips hold the hormones and enzymes (Pure KNF Manual, p. 38).
Plants do not all render juice equally. Drake adds fine salt, up to 10% of the sugar weight, to draw more juice out (Office Hours Ep. 40, 8:50).
For sea minerals, the KNF input list has seawater diluted with fresh water as its own input for soil (Unravelling the Mysteries of KNF, p. 63). Drake points to seawater when plants lack minerals (Office Hours Ep. 2, 31:01).
The library does not cover dried seaweed, rehydrating in beer or water, or how much liquid to add.
