Soil collected from outside
I collected soil I used for an outdoor bed, but I’m having issues with my plants. I set up the indoor bed with rocks, sand, tree branches and soil. I’ve used jms and fpj a few times. One corner of the bed is healthy green but the rest look sick with burntish leaves and purple stems.

thats a hard one to answer it could be 1 of 1000 things causing a imbalance in your system from something as simple as to much water or something extreme like a soil infestation, your plants are definitely saying theres something wrong, now you just have to research whats going on and try to figure it out Good Luck and May the Force be with You

The library cannot diagnose this bed. It does cover the two things the asker has used.
Drake recommends checking the FPJ first. The library gives a more dilute mix, 1:800 or 1:1000, when leaf burn is possible. That applies to FPJ made from more than 3 ingredients, FPJ applied in hot weather, and FPJ more than a year old. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 37)
JMS works early in bed prep. It mostly feeds the biology already in the soil. It does not deliver Master Cho's actual IMO microbes. (Office Hours Ep. 14, 55:30)
The library says nothing about purple stems, one healthy corner, or a bed built from rocks, sand, branches and outside soil. That needs a look at the bed and the FPJ recipe.
