The library has only a little on mushrooms.
Drake is not sure about fish amino acid on mushrooms, but says misting KNF solutions onto them seems worth trying. (Office Hours Ep. 103, 27:18)
He also says plant juices can work in mushroom growing, but some mushrooms are sensitive to contamination once sterilized. (Office Hours Ep. 103, 25:46)
Cho's text mentions growing mushrooms on the ground of a cucumber greenhouse after using native microorganisms. (Cho, Theory, p. 98)
For the symbiosis idea, the library describes it for crops. Microorganisms convert nutrients into a form plants can absorb. (Unravelling the Mysteries of KNF, p. 73)
The library does not say whether this holds for mushrooms. It gives no method for growing them without sterilizing, and no yield or nutrition data.
