marigold FPJ for chickens
I have been wondering if I made an FPJ out of marigold or nasturtium flowers which are high in lutein and added it to laying chickens feed if this would increase the lutein content of the egg yolk. Most commercial feed has marigold powder added.

The library does not say whether marigold or nasturtium FPJ raises lutein in egg yolk.
It does cover the FPJ side. Drake says FPJ is plant food made from growth tips, flowers, or fruit, depending on the plant's stage (Office Hours Aug 2025, 50:58). So a flower FPJ fits his method.
For chickens, Cho describes sprinkling FPJ on the poultry house floor. There it ferments into high quality forage (Cho, Theory, p. 141).
The library says nothing about lutein, yolk color, marigold, or nasturtium. It also gives no rate for mixing FPJ into laying feed. Drake would need to weigh in on that.
