KNF solutions in chickens drinking water?

Which KNF solutions can I give my chickens in their drinking water? Do I use the same dilution as for plants and can I give it everyday?

The answer

From the KNF library

From the KNF library Drafted by Claude from Office Hours and the books · Sep 2026 · 6 sources

Drake's library adds four things to the accepted answer.

  • Seawater at 1:30 in drinking water curbs feather loss in molting chickens. (Office Hours Ep. 72, 59:45)
  • Sea salt works if the ocean is far. Use 1 gram per liter for the same 1-to-30 dilution. (Office Hours Ep. 48, 58:00)
  • Fermented seawater can go in animals' drinking water if it is fermented properly and does not smell bad. (Office Hours Ep. 121, 16:32)
  • WCP goes in drinking water at 1:500 for livestock that are pregnant or ovulating. (Cho, Recipe, p. 65)

OHN in drinking water runs 1:1000, the same ratio the manual gives for plants. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 27) The course manual says all the solutions can be safely ingested. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 8)

The library names no daily schedule for any solution. It also gives no seawater frequency, and it does not say whether the WCP ratio applies to chickens.
