IMO 3 bran replacement
From the KNF library
Yes. Drake says spent brewery grain can go into an IMO 3 pile. (Office Hours Ep. 70, 51:59) (Office Hours Ep. 29, 39:42)
Brewing strips out the sugars, so put carbohydrate back. (Office Hours Ep. 70, 51:59) Drake's examples are mashed potato, powdered potato, or instant potato. (Office Hours Ep. 70, 51:59) (Office Hours Ep. 29, 39:42) (Office Hours Ep. 113, 36:54)
A KNF study lists spent grains from breweries as a stand-in for wheat mill run. (Unravelling the Mysteries of KNF, p. 60)
Drake's first pick is still mill run, the bran left from milling white rice. It gives the right balance of fats, oils, and carbs. (Office Hours Ep. 31, 31:49)
Keep the rest of the recipe the same. Cho's rice bran recipe runs the mix at 65~70% moisture. (Cho, Recipe, p. 15)
