I AM DIRECTING THIS QUESTION TO DR. DRAKE.
ALOHA
WHICH TYPE OF SUGAR CANE USED FOR MAKING SILAGE. I HAD WATCHED YOUR VIDEOS, IN ONE OF THEM ITS BEEN SAID BY MASTER CHO & MASTER LEE. AND TRANSLATION DONE BY DR HOON PARK IN ENGLISH. IS THAT ANIMAL CONSUMING SUGAR CANE IS DIFFERENT BY HAVING OTHER NAME ? OR THE SAME WHICH HUMAN BEINGS CONSUME. PLEASE GUIDE ME TO HAVE THE CLARIFICATION FOR MAKING A SILAGE OF SUGAR CANE. WHAT IS THE RIGHT TIME OF AGE( AFTER HOW MANY MONTHS OF SUGAR CANE PLANT IS PLANTED ) THE SUGAR CANE SILAGE SHOULD BE MADE FOR FEEDING THE ANIMALS.

Drake says sugar cane makes good silage. It ensiles even better than corn. (Office Hours May 2025, 32:36) Banana works too, though the stalks are harder to chip. (Office Hours May 2025, 32:36)
Drake leans on sugarcane in Hawaii as a fast-growing cover crop, because corn has never done well in his acidic soil. (Office Hours Feb 2025, 48:25)
The library does not name a cane variety. It does not say whether cane for animals differs from the cane people eat. It gives no harvest age in months. Those points need Drake's own judgment, so bring them to an office hour.
