Hello there! I have plenty of Indian cress (tropaeolum majus) and I was wondering if it could be used in a FPJ recipe. is there any benefit to it? Thanks a mil.

From the KNF library

From the KNF library Drafted by Claude from Office Hours and the books · Sep 2026 · 4 sources

The library never names nasturtium, so Drake's general FPJ rules apply.

Drake recommends collecting the fast-growing tips before sunrise. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 32) Do not rinse them. The microbes on the leaf stay and ferment the juice. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 32) Tips are the part to use, because they are full of growth hormones and enzymes. (Office Hours Ep. 4, 1:05:06) Drake says a whole-plant juice is okay but not optimal. (Office Hours Ep. 4, 1:05:06)

As for benefit, fermenting pulls out the enzymes, hormones and other plant chemicals. (Office Hours Ep. 7, 24:01) The plant you spray absorbs them directly. It does not have to digest them first. (Office Hours Ep. 7, 24:01)

  • Dilute the finished FPJ in water at 1:500. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 37)

The library does not say what nasturtium in particular offers, and it does not cover its safety.
