FAA made with land meat instead of fish

i read in a facebook thread a teacher of knf say you must add IMO4 to your FAA if you make it from land meat instead of fish. why?  i would imagine the sugar ferment would act no different with land meat than with fish. also i am hearing folks adding imo2 and ohn to their FAAs. i never have before... whats the point?

From the KNF library

From the KNF library Drafted by Claude from Office Hours and the books · Sep 2026 · 6 sources

Cho's recipe lists IMO #4, OHN and mineral A among the FAA materials, and says to add IMO in order to decompose the fish oil and the meat. (Cho, Recipe, p. 48) (Cho, Recipe, p. 50)

Drake's practice differs. He has made FAA from tilapia and yellowfin tuna. He avoids IMO4 because it eats up the fats and oils. (Office Hours Ep. 4, 1:00:49) He also says to skip IMOs and OHN in FAA, since sugar and fish is all it needs. (Office Hours Ep. 17, 1:05:50) Suze says enough sugar alone keeps out bad bacteria. (Office Hours Ep. 15, 58:58)

Drake uses all kinds of meaty waste on his farm, including mongoose, pigs and frogs. (KNF Demystified, p. 39) He notes Cho would probably frown at this. (KNF Demystified, p. 39)

The library does not say why land meat would need IMO4. It gives no reason for adding IMO2 or OHN, beyond Cho listing OHN as a material.
