Broke one of my main ohn vessels

So I accidentally broke open and spilled everywhere my licorice root jar for ohn the smaller jar not the final one, I am a week into my second extraction period, should I restart the licorice root from the begining and mix the alcohol in, coinciding with the other jars 2nd extraction and than just stirring and extracting along with other jars again.than I was thinking since I’ve already got my first extract from the now broken licorice roots jar should I discard the first extraction(drink it) from this new batch that is 1 extraction behind and just do another extraction at the end with that jar so it’s like everything is even still, I hope that is understandable, get back to me on what you think or if you think there is a better way to do it, thanks!

From the KNF library

From the KNF library Drafted by Claude from Office Hours and the books · Sep 2026 · 3 sources

The library gives the steps for a fresh licorice jar.

  • Chop the licorice and soak it in rice wine or beer for 2 days. Then add brown sugar to bring the jar to two-thirds full. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 25)
  • Wait 5 to 7 days. Then fill the jar with vodka or other alcohol, nearly to the top. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 25)

The pour-off step differs by source. One says to strain 1/3 into the extract jar and pour 2/3 back into the original jar. (Student's Manual, Basic Course, p. 26) Another says to pour off all the liquid, return one third to the jar, and refill with two thirds new alcohol. (Office Hours Ep. 13, 32:39)

The library does not say whether to drink the new jar's first extraction. It also does not say how to line a late jar up with the others.
