Applying KNF to large mature trees?

Hi there,   I have two large mature trees in my yard (Manitoba Maple and Elm), and I'd love to use KNF to keep them healthy. I'd greatly appreciate any advice on which solutions to use in combination (and what concentration), as well as what the best technique of application of these solutions would be (e.g. watering in near the canopy drip line vs foliar spray (or spraying on bark?)! Thanks very much!

From the KNF library

From the KNF library Drafted by Claude from Office Hours and the books · Sep 2026 · 3 sources

The library has no recipe for shade trees like maple or elm. It has a few pieces that touch trees.

Drake's library says trees do well with wood chip mulch spread out past the drip line. (KNF Demystified, p. 16) It also says to add microorganisms when you mulch, to avoid carbon and nitrogen depletion. (KNF Demystified, p. 16)

For a transplanted blueberry bush, the library rings the drip line with IMO after planting. (Office Hours Ep. 50, 45:52)

Cho's recipe book covers fruit trees, not shade trees. It dilutes Mineral B or C at 1/1,000 for soil irrigation. (Cho, Recipe, p. 88) For fruit trees it adds deep-soil injection alongside leaf spraying. (Cho, Recipe, p. 88)

The library does not say whether any of this carries over to maple or elm. It says nothing about spraying bark, foliar rates for a large canopy, or timing. The maintenance ratios in the existing answer are not repeated here.
