Measured 2/3 jar each of garlic & ginger, mixed each with brown sugar like FPJ preparation and filled jars to 2/3. Added brown sugar to angelica, cinnamon, and licorice, to 2/3 of jars and stirred to mix together. After 3 days, most jars had a thin layer of excess brown sugar settled at the bottom, except ginger.Verified by Drake Weinert · May 27, 2018

Separated photo
2nd attempt at separation. LAB collection from rice wash after 47 hours. Used eyedropper to collect only middle layer of rice wash. Mixed with Lucerne 2% milk, stirred with plastic chopstick. Placed on countertop shaded with paper bag. Weather cool, partly sunny, partly rainy. After 3 days (72 hours) good separation, clean curd very slightly yellowed on top. Silken tofu texture. Very mild taste, only a hint of sourness.Verified by Drake Weinert · May 27, 2018

1/10/18 basket set at edge of forest understory (ginger) just outside inner gate. 1/14/18 no change in rice except settling, so moved basket into forest - just past inner gate behind tent, thru barbed wire to 1st large tree in forest path. Basket set at base of tree in disturbed (by me) soil with a handful of leaf litter on top. Weather mostly dry, daytime temps mid 70's, nighttime 60's. At collection time, cardboard "roof" had slid away, leaving basket unprotected. Basket bottom only slightly warm and top of basket and soil around it dry. Nice 85% white collection on top and throughout rice with a few small grey spots. Bottom of rice and basket bottom wet inside, blue mold patches on the bottom of rice (less than 50%). A few yellow and red spots. This was day 7, so try day 6 collection next time.Verified by Drake Weinert · January 25, 2018
