Water-Soluble Calcium, IMO Fermentation Temps, No-Smell Pig Waste

A viewer asks what to feed a pregnant pig at 42 days along. Drake says water-soluble calcium is the key nutrient late in pregnancy, sprayed on plants at 1:1000 or fed to animals between 1:1000 and 1:700. He then shows a 25-hour temperature graph from a raspberry pi probe tracking fermenting pig feed against air temperature, with the feed peaking near 120°F, about 40 to 48 degrees above the air.

A farmer named Jonathan shares photos of an IMO collection with mushrooms growing out the box. Drake calls it an A-plus collection, since mycelium and mushrooms mean a high fungal ratio, and explains how to grade IMO1 by its brick-like texture before mixing with equal parts brown sugar. He tells a story about a pig farmer in the Philippines whose waste smell and flies disappeared within a week after adding a Starbucks-cup dose of IMO4 dust to the pen.

Drake walks through his Pure KNF Recipe Book, sold at knfsupport.com for $20 or $50 with updates, and explains why he renamed Master Cho's nine solutions into plain terms like cleanser, medicine, structure, fuel, maintenance formula, soil formula, seed formula, leaf, bloom, fruit, and harvest. He also demos his KNF app, which converts any water volume into exact dilution amounts.

Later questions cover soil building: biochar and IMO helped Master Cho reforest the Gobi Desert with 95 percent tree survival and no irrigation, though lettuce still needs more water. Drake recommends grass clippings or straw over wood chips near lettuce, and warns against over-amending raised beds for baby plants. He closes with the JMS (Jadam Microbial Solution) recipe of water, soil, starch, and sea salt for grid-down resilience, and mentions the no-turn Johnson-Su compost bioreactor.

Questions answered

  • 0:15 What nutrients does a pregnant pig need? — Water-soluble calcium is the key nutrient late in pregnancy, dosed between 1:1000 and 1:700.
  • 2:37 What does the fermentation temperature graph show? — A raspberry pi probe tracked feed fermenting for 25 hours, peaking about 40 to 48 degrees above air temperature.
  • 15:50 My IMO box grew a mushroom out the side, is that good? — Drake called it an A-plus collection, since mushrooms and mycelium mean a highly fungal, healthy IMO1.
  • 22:54 How do I grade an IMO1 collection? — A good IMO1 lifts out like a solid brick and clings together as you break it apart, not mushy.
  • 24:09 Does IMO change pig waste? — A handful of IMO4 dust in the pig pen removed smell and flies within a week and turned waste into solid brown nuggets.
  • 27:38 Where can I get the Pure KNF Recipe Book? — It's at knfsupport.com, $20 for the current edition or $50 for lifetime updates.
  • 37:30 Is there an easier way to figure dilutions? — Drake's KNF app converts any volume, like 85 gallons, into exact amounts for each solution.
  • 46:15 Can microbes store morning dew in biochar for lettuce? — It helps, but lettuce needs more water than dew alone gives, unlike the trees Master Cho reforested in the Gobi Desert at 95 percent survival.
  • 50:10 Should I mulch with wood chips or leftover pepper stalks? — Use grass clippings or straw near lettuce since wood chips against the stems go too fungal; woody pepper stalks are fine to recycle.
  • 53:26 Is my raised bed mix of topsoil, manure, and IMO4 right for new seedlings? — Start plants in poorer soil first, then amend with richer compost after a week or two so you don't overfeed babies.
  • 56:55 What is JMS and why does it matter? — Jadam Microbial Solution needs only water, soil, starch, and sea salt, and builds soil microbes in 24 to 48 hours for grid-down resilience.
  • 1:02:00 What is the Johnson-Su bioreactor? — It's a no-turn compost pile that takes about a year but produces excellent finished compost.
